Leviticus 17
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Hierauf gebot der HERR dem Mose folgendes:
2 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying,
»Rede mit Aaron und seinen Söhnen und mit allen Israeliten und sage ihnen: Dies ist es, was der HERR geboten hat: «
3 Any man whatsoever of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or a sheep, or a goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,
»Jedermann vom Hause Israel, der ein Rind oder ein Schaf oder eine Ziege innerhalb oder außerhalb des Lagers schlachten will,
4 And bringeth it not to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it as an offering unto the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord: as blood-guiltiness shall it be imputed unto that man, blood hath he shed; and that man shall be cut off from among his people.
(das Tier) aber nicht an den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes bringt, um es dem HERRN als Opfergabe vor der Wohnung des HERRN darzubringen, einem solchen Manne soll das als Blutschuld angerechnet werden: Blut hat er vergossen, darum soll ein solcher Mann aus der Mitte seines Volkes ausgerottet werden!
5 In order that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they slay in the open field, and bring them unto the Lord, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and slay them as sacrifices of peace-offerings unto the Lord.
Die Israeliten sollen also ihre Schlachttiere, die sie jetzt auf freiem Felde zu schlachten pflegen, herbeibringen, und zwar sollen sie sie für den HERRN an den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes zu dem Priester bringen und sie als Heilsopfer für den HERRN schlachten.
6 And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation; and he shall burn the fat for a sweet savor unto the Lord.
Der Priester soll dann das Blut an den Altar des HERRN, der vor dem Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes steht, sprengen und das Fett zum lieblichen Geruch für den HERRN in Rauch aufgehen lassen.
7 So that they shall offer no more their sacrifices unto evil spirits, after which they have gone astray: a statute for ever shall this be unto them throughout their generations.
Sie sollen also ihre Schlachttiere hinfort nicht mehr den bösen Geistern schlachten, deren Götzendienst sie jetzt treiben! Dies soll für sie eine ewiggültige Verordnung von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht sein.«
8 And unto them shalt thou say, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who may sojourn among them, that offereth a burnt-offering or a sacrifice,
»Weiter sollst du ihnen sagen: Wenn jemand vom Hause Israel und von den Fremdlingen, die sich als Gäste bei ihnen aufhalten, ein Brandopfer oder ein Schlachtopfer darbringen will
9 And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the Lord: even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
und es nicht an den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes bringt, um es für den HERRN herzurichten, so soll ein solcher Mensch aus seinen Volksgenossen ausgerottet werden.«
10 And if there be any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood: I will set my face against the person that eateth the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people.
»Wenn ferner jemand vom Hause Israel und von den Fremdlingen, die sich bei ihnen aufhalten, irgendwelches Blut genießt: gegen einen solchen Menschen, der Blut genießt, will ich mein Angesicht richten und ihn aus der Mitte seines Volkes ausrotten.
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have appointed it for you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; for the blood it is that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Denn das Leben des Leibes liegt im Blut, und ich habe es euch für den Altar bestimmt, damit ihr euch dadurch Sühne für eure Sünden erwirkt; denn das Blut ist es, das Sühne durch das in ihm enthaltene Leben bewirkt.
12 Therefore have I said unto the children of Israel, No one of you shall eat blood, and the stranger that sojourneth among you shall not eat blood.
Darum habe ich den Israeliten geboten: Niemand von euch darf Blut genießen! Auch der Fremdling, der als Gast unter euch lebt, darf kein Blut genießen!«
13 And if there be any man whatsoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who catcheth by hunting any beast or fowl that may be eaten: then shall he pour out the blood thereof, and cover it up with dust.
»Wenn also jemand von den Israeliten und von den Fremdlingen, die als Gäste unter ihnen leben, ein Stück Wild oder Geflügel erjagt, das gegessen werden darf, so soll er das Blut des Tieres auslaufen lassen und es mit Erde bedecken.
14 For the life of all flesh is its blood, on which its life dependeth; therefore have I said unto the children of Israel, The blood of every manner of flesh shall ye not eat; for the life of all flesh is its blood, every one who eateth it shall be cut off.
Denn was das Leben alles Fleisches betrifft, so liegt sein Leben in seinem Blut. Darum habe ich den Israeliten geboten: Von keinem Fleisch dürft ihr das Blut genießen, denn das Leben alles Fleisches liegt in seinem Blut: jeder, der es genießt, soll ausgerottet werden. –
15 And every person that eateth that which hath died of itself, or that which was torn by beasts, be this one born in your own country, or a stranger, shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening, when he shall be clean.
Und wer das Fleisch eines gefallenen oder von Raubtieren zerrissenen Tieres genießt, er sei ein Einheimischer oder ein Fremdling, der soll seine Kleider waschen und ein Wasserbad nehmen und ist bis zum Abend unrein: alsdann ist er wieder rein.
16 But if he wash [them] not, nor bathe his flesh, then shall he bear his iniquity.
Wenn er aber (seine Kleider) nicht wäscht und sich nicht badet, so hat er seine Verschuldung zu tragen.«
