< Leviticus 11 >

1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
Yehowa gblɔ na Mose kple Aron bena,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
“Migblɔ na Israelviwo be, ‘Le lã siwo katã nɔa anyigba dzi la, esiawoe nye esiwo miaɖu.
3 Whatsoever divideth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that may ye eat.
Miate ŋu aɖu lã sia lã si ƒe afɔkli me fe, eye wòdzɔa nu gaɖuna.
4 But these shall ye not eat, of those that chew the cud, or of those that divide the hoof: the camel; because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
“‘Lã aɖewo li siwo dzɔa nu gaɖuna alo woƒe afɔkli me koe fe, gake migaɖu wo o. Togbɔ be kposɔ ɖua nu, dzonɛ gaɖuna hã la, eƒe afɔkli me mefe o. Enye lã makɔmakɔ na mi.
5 And the cony; because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Xɔfie, togbɔ be edzɔa nu gaɖuna hã la, eƒe afɔkli me mefe o. Enye la makɔmakɔ na mi.
6 And the hare; because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Fɔmizi, togbɔ be edzɔa nu gaɖuna hã la, eƒe afɔkli me mefe o. Lã makɔmakɔ wònye na mi.
7 And the swine; because he divideth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, but he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean unto you.
Ha, togbɔ be eƒe afɔkli me fe hã la, medzɔa nu gaɖuna o. Lã makɔmakɔ wònye na mi.
8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are unclean unto you.
Mele be miaɖu eƒe lã loo alo aka asi eƒe kukua teti hã ŋu o. Nu makɔmakɔ wònye na mi.
9 These may ye eat, of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them may ye eat.
“‘Le tɔmelãwo katã gome la, miekpɔ mɔ aɖu ɖe sia ɖe si ŋu adza kple tsro le, ne woɖe wo tso tɔsisiwo me loo alo atsiaƒu me.
10 But all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of whatever moveth in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, shall be an abomination unto you:
Ke lã siwo katã le atsiaƒu me alo tɔ me esiwo ŋu adza alo tsro mele o, woɖale lã siwo katã ƒua tsi dome alo nu gbagbe bubu siwo katã le tɔ me dome o, wonye ŋunyɔnu na mi.
11 And an abomination shall they remain unto you; of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcasses ye shall have in abomination.
Esi wònye be wonye ŋunyɔnuwo na mi ta la, migaɖu woƒe lã o, eye woƒe kukua hã nanyɔ ŋu na mi.
12 Whatsoever hath not fins and scales in the waters, shall be an abomination unto you.
Nu gbagbe ɖe sia ɖe si le tɔ me, esi ŋu tsro kple adza mele o la nanye ŋunyɔnu na mi.
13 And these shall ye have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: The eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey,
“‘Xe siawo nanyɔ ŋu na mi, eye miaɖu wo o, elabena wonye ŋunyɔnuwo: hɔ̃, akaga, akpo,
14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
aʋako dzĩtɔwo kple yibɔtɔwo,
15 Every raven after his kind:
akpaviã ƒomevi vovovoawo,
16 And the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after his kind;
adzexe si to dzo ɖe ta, adzexe ŋutɔ, golo, tsalɛ̃, aʋako,
17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
ʋlukuku, tsimese, kple aŋɔɣi,
18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier-eagle,
favieʋuto, aluge kple akaga,
19 And the stork, the heron after his kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
damixe, ako ƒomeviwo, agudzixe kple agutɔ.
20 All flying insects that walk upon four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
“‘Nudzodzoe siwo katã zɔna le afɔ ene dzi, woanye ŋunyɔnu na mi.
21 Yet these may ye eat, among all the flying insects that walk on four feet, which have spring-legs above their feet, to leap therewith upon the earth.
Ke nudzodzoe aɖewo li siwo zɔna le afɔ ene dzi, esiwo miate ŋu aɖu. Esiawoe nye esiwo te afɔwo le hena kpotiti le anyigba.
22 These of them may ye eat: The locust after its kind, and the sol'am after its kind, and the chargol after its kind, and the chagab after its kind.
Esiwo miaɖu woe nye ʋetsuvi tɔgbiwo katã, gbagblami kple abɔ ƒomeviwo katã.
23 But all flying insects, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you;
Miekpɔ mɔ aɖu nu bubu siwo katã dzona, eye woto afɔ ene la dometɔ aɖeke o.
24 And through these shall ye be rendered unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcass of them shall be unclean until the evening;
“‘Ame sia ame si aka asi woƒe kukua ŋu la ŋu makɔ o va se ɖe fiẽ,
25 And whosoever beareth aught of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
eye ele nɛ be wòanya eƒe awuwo enumake. Ele nɛ hã be wòaɖe eɖokui ɖe aga va se ɖe fiẽ abe ame si ŋuti mekɔ o ene.
26 Every species of beast, which divideth the hoof and is not cloven-footed nor cheweth the cud, is unclean unto you: every one that toucheth the same shall be unclean.
“‘Ame si ka asi lã si ƒe afɔkli me mefe tututu o, alo lã si medzɔa nu gaɖuna o ŋu la hã ŋuti mekɔ o va se ɖe fiẽ.
27 And all that walk upon their paws, among all manner of beasts that walk on four feet, are unclean unto you; whosoever toucheth their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
Miekpɔ mɔ aɖu lã afɔene siwo ƒe afɔwo nu fetsu le o. Ame si ka asi woƒe kukua ŋu hã ŋuti mekɔ o, va se ɖe fiẽ.
28 And he that beareth their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: unclean shall they be unto you.
Ele be ame si atsɔ eƒe kukua aƒu gbe la nanya eƒe awuwo, eye eŋuti makɔ o va se ɖe fiẽ, elabena mede se na mi tso wo ŋu.
29 And these shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth: The weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after its kind,
“‘Lã siwo zɔna le anyigba, eye wo ŋu mekɔ na mi o la woe nye, adɔ, afi kple adoglo ƒomeviwo,
30 And the hedgehog, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.
xɔmenyatri, ve, adoglo, atɔ kple agama.
31 These shall be unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening.
Ame sia ame si ka asi nu siawo ƒe kukuawo ŋu la ŋu mekɔ o va se ɖe fiẽ.
32 And every thing upon which any part of them, when they are dead, doth fall, shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, every vessel wherewith any work can be done, must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening, when it shall be clean.
Nu sia nu si dzi nu siawo dometɔ aɖe ƒe kukua ge dze la ŋu mekɔ o. Ne ege dze nu si wowɔ kple ati, avɔ, ɖovu alo kotoku aɖe dzi la, ele be woaklɔe kple tsi alo anyae, eye eŋuti makɔ o va se ɖe fiẽ. Le esia megbe la, woagate ŋu awɔ eŋu dɔ.
33 And every earthen vessel whereinto any part of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and itself shall ye break.
Ne ege dze agba aɖe si wome kple tsu me la, nu sia nu si le agba la me la ŋu mekɔ o, eye ele be woagbã agba la.
34 All kinds of food which may be eaten, on which water cometh, shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk, shall be rendered unclean in every vessel.
Ne tsi si wotsɔ klɔ nu makɔmakɔ aɖe ŋu hlẽ ɖe nuɖuɖu aɖe ŋu la, nuɖuɖu la ŋu mekɔ o. Nunono si le agba makɔmakɔ aɖe me hã ŋu mekɔ o.
35 And every thing whereupon any part of their carcass falleth, shall be unclean; an oven, or ranges for pots, shall be broken down, they are unclean; and unclean shall they be unto you.
Ne lã makɔmakɔ siawo dometɔ aɖe ƒe kukua ka abolokpo aɖe ŋu la, abolokpo la hã ŋu mekɔ o, eya ta ele be woagbãe.
36 Nevertheless, a fountain, or pit, receptacles for water, shall be clean; but he that toucheth their carcass shall be unclean.
Ne nu siawo ƒe kuku aɖe ge ɖe tɔʋu alo tsigago aɖe si me tsi le la me la, tsi la menye tsi makɔmakɔ o, gake ame si ɖe nu kukua le tsia me ya la ŋu mekɔ o.
37 And if any part of their carcass fall upon any sowing-seed which hath been sown, it shall be clean.
Ne nu kukua ka nuku aɖe si ƒã ge wole ŋu la, nuku la mezu nuku makɔmakɔ o.
38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcass fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
Ke ne nukua ƒo tsi hafi nu kuku la ge ɖe edzi la, ekema nuku ƒotsi la ŋu mekɔ o.
39 And if any cattle die, which is allowed to you as food: he that toucheth its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
“‘Ne dɔléle wu lã aɖe si ŋu woɖe mɔ le be woaɖu la, ame si ka asi lã la ƒe kukua ŋu la ŋu mekɔ o va se ɖe fiẽ.
40 And he that eateth of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening; he also that beareth its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
Gawu la, ele be ame si ɖu eƒe lã alo tsɔe yi ɖaƒu gbe la nanya eƒe awuwo, eye eŋuti makɔ o va se ɖe fiẽ.
41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth is an abomination, it shall not be eaten.
“‘Nu gbagbe ɖe sia ɖe si tana le anyigba dzi la nye nu si woatsri; womaɖui o.
42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon four feet, down to whatsoever hath many feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, shall ye not eat; for they are an abomination.
Migaɖu nu gbagbe si tana le anyigba le eƒe ƒodo dzi alo wòzɔna kple afɔ ene loo alo le afɔ geɖewo dzi la o. Enye nu si woatsri.
43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth; and ye shall not make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
Migaƒo ɖi mia ɖokuiwo to asikaka wo ŋu me o.
44 For I am the Lord your God; ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Nyee nye Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu. Minɔ dzadzɛe le nu siawo ŋuti, eye mianɔ kɔkɔe, elabena kɔkɔetɔe menye. Eya ta migaƒo ɖi mia ɖokuiwo to asikaka nu siwo tana le anyigba la dometɔ aɖeke ŋu me o.
45 For I am the Lord that have brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
Elabena nyee nye Yehowa si kplɔ mi tso Egiptenyigba dzi be manye miaƒe Mawu. Ele na mi be mianɔ kɔkɔe, elabena kɔkɔetɔe menye.
46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
“‘Esiawoe nye se siwo ku ɖe lãwo, xewo kple nu siwo katã ƒua tsi alo tana le anyigba la ŋu.
47 To distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
Esiawoe nye vovototo siwo le nu siwo ŋuti kɔ, eye woaɖu wo kple nu siwo ŋuti mekɔ o, eye womaɖu wo o le nu gbagbe siwo nye lãwo le anyigba dzi la dome.’”
