< Lamentations 5 >
1 Remember, O Lord, what hath occurred to us, look down, and behold our disgrace.
Jjukira Ayi Mukama ekitutuuseeko. Tunula olabe ennaku yaffe.
2 Our inheritance is turned over to strangers, our houses to aliens.
Omugabo gwaffe guweereddwa bannamawanga, n’amaka gaffe gatwaliddwa abatali ba mu nnyumba.
3 Orphans are we become, and [we are] without a father, our mothers are like widows.
Tufuuse bamulekwa abatalina bakitaabwe, ne bannyaffe bafuuse bannamwandu.
4 Our water have we drunk for money: our wood cometh to us for a purchase price.
Tusasulira amazzi ge tunywa; n’enku tuteekwa okuzigula.
5 Up to our necks are we pursued: we are fatigued, and no rest is allowed us.
Abatucocca batugobaganya; tukooye ate nga tetulina wa kuwummulira.
6 To Egypt do we stretch out our hand, to Asshur, to be satisfied with bread.
Twakola endagaano ne Misiri n’Abasuuli okutufuniranga ku mmere.
7 Our fathers have sinned, and are no more; but we have indeed to bear their iniquities.
Bajjajjaffe baayonoona, ne bafa, naye tubonerezebwa olw’ebikolwa byabwe ebitaali bya butuukirivu.
8 Servants rule over us: no one delivereth us out of their hand.
Abaddu be batufuga, tewali n’omu ayinza okutulokola mu mukono gwabwe.
9 At the peril of our life must we bring home our bread, because of the sword of the wilderness.
Tuba kumpi n’okuttibwa nga tunoonya emmere, olw’ekitala ekiri mu ddungu.
10 Our skin gloweth like an oven, because of the heat of famine.
Olususu lwaffe luddugadde ng’enziro olw’enjala ennyingi.
11 Women have they ravished in Zion, virgins, in the cities of Judah.
Abakyala ba Sayuuni, n’abawala embeerera ab’omu bibuga bya Yuda bakwatiddwa olw’amaanyi.
12 Princes were hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honored.
Abalangira bawanikibbwa baleebeetera ku mikono gyabwe n’abakadde tewali abassaamu kitiibwa.
13 Young men they bore to the mill, and boys stumbled under the wood.
Abavubuka bawalirizibwa okusa emmere ku jjinja ne ku lubengo, n’abalenzi batagala nga beetisse entuumu z’enku.
14 The elders have ceased from the gate, young men, from their singing.
Abakadde tebakyatuula mu wankaaki w’ekibuga, n’abavubuka tebakyayimba.
15 Ceased hath the joy of our heart: our dance is changed into mourning.
Emitima gyaffe tegikyasanyuka, n’okuzina kwaffe kufuuse kukungubaga.
16 Fallen is the crown of our head: woe to us, for we have sinned.
Engule egudde okuva ku mitwe gyaffe. Zitusanze kubanga twonoonye!
17 Because of this is our heart made sick; for these things are our eyes dimmed;
Emitima gyaffe kyegivudde gizirika, era n’amaaso gaffe kyegavudde gayimbaala.
18 Because of the mount of Zion which is wasted, foxes walk about on it.
Olw’okuba nga olusozi Sayuuni lulekeddwa nga lwereere, ebibe kyebivudde bitambulirako.
19 O thou, Lord, wilt truly abide for ever, thy throne existeth throughout all generations.
Ggwe, Ayi Mukama obeerera ennaku zonna; entebe yo ey’obwakabaka ya mirembe na mirembe.
20 Wherefore wilt thou forget us for ever! wilt thou forsake us for so long a time?
Lwaki otwelabiririra ddala okumala ennaku ezo zonna? Tuddiremu, Ayi Mukama, tudde gy’oli.
21 Cause us to return, O Lord, unto thee, and we will return: renew our days as of old.
Tukomyewo gy’oli Ayi Mukama, otuzze buggya ng’edda;
22 For wouldst thou entirely reject us, be wroth with us to the uttermost?
wabula ng’otusuulidde ddala, era ng’otusunguwalidde nnyo nnyini obutayagala na kutuddiramu.
