Judges 3
1 Now these are the nations that the Lord left, to prove by them the Israelites, namely, all those who had not experienced all the wars of Canaan;
यति बेला इस्राएलको अर्थात् कनानमा लडिएका कुनै पनि युद्धको अनुभव नभएका इस्राएलका हरेक व्यक्तिको जाँच गर्नलाई परमप्रभुले यी जातिहरूलाई छोडिदिनुभयो ।
2 Only in order that the future generations of the children of Israel might obtain knowledge, to teach them war; but only such as before had learned nothing thereof;
(युद्धको विषयमा पहिले जानकरी नभएका इस्राएलीहरूका नयाँ पुस्तालाई त्यसबारे सिकाउन उहाँले यसो गर्नुभयो ।)
3 Namely, the five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Zidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt on mount Lebanon, from mount Ba'al-chermon unto the entrance of Chamath.
ती जातिहरू यी नै हुन्: पलिश्तीहरूका पाँच राजाहरू, सबै कनानीहरू, सीदोनीहरू, र लेबनानका पर्वतहरूमा बाल-हर्मोनदेखि हमात-पाससम्म बस्ने हिव्वीहरू ।
4 And they were left to prove by them the Israelites, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the Lord, which he had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.
इस्राएलको जाँच गर्न, अनि परमप्रभुले मोशाद्वारा तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूलाई दिनुभएका आज्ञाहरू तिनीहरूले पालन गर्छन् कि गर्दैनन् भनेर निश्चित रूपमा थाहा पाउनलाई यी जातिहरूलाई छोडिएको थियो ।
5 And the children of Israel dwelt in the midst of the Canaanites, the Hittites, and the Emorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites;
यसैले इस्राएलका मानिसहरू कनानीहरू, हित्तीहरू, एमोरीहरू, परिज्जीहरू, हिव्वीहरू, र यबूसीहरूसँगै बसोबास गरे ।
6 And they took their daughters to themselves for wives, and their daughters they gave to their sons; and they served their gods.
तिनीहरूका छोरीहरूलाई उनीहरूले आफ्ना पत्नीहरू बनाएर ल्याए, र उनीहरूका आफ्ना छोरीहरू तिनीहरूका छोराहरूलाई दिए र तिनीहरूका उनीहरूका देवताहरूका सेवा गरे ।
7 And the children of Israel did [thus] the evil in the eyes of the Lord, and forgot the Lord their God, and served the Be'alim and the groves.
परमप्रभुको नजरमा जे कुरा दुष्ट थियो, इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले त्यही गरे र परमप्रभु आफ्ना परमेश्वरलाई बिर्से । तिनीहरूले बाल देवताहरू र अशेरा देवीहरूका पुजा गरे ।
8 Wherefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan-rish'athayim the king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-rish'athayim eight years.
यसकारण इस्राएलको विरुद्ध परमप्रभुको क्रोध आगोझैं दन्कियो, र उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई अराम नाहारैमका राजा कूशन-रिशातैमको हातमा बेचिदिनुभयो । इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले आठ वर्षसम्म कूशन-रिशातैमको सेवा गरे ।
9 And the children of Israel cried then unto the Lord, and the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, namely, 'Othniel the son of Kenaz, the younger brother of Caleb.
जब इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुलाई पुकारे, इस्राएलका मानिसहरूलाई सहायता गर्ने र तिनीहरूलाई बचाउने कोही एक जनालाई परमप्रभुले खडा गर्नुभयोः उनी कनाजका छोरा ओत्निएल (कालेबका भाइ) थिए ।
10 And the spirit of the Lord came over him, and he judged Israel, and went out to battle: and the Lord delivered Cushan-rish'athayim the king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-rish'athayim.
परमप्रभुको आत्माले उनलाई शक्ति दिनुभयो, र उनले इस्राएलको न्याय गरे र उनी युद्धमा गए । परमप्रभुले उनलाई अरामका राजा कूशन-रिशातैममाथि विजय दिनुभयो । ओत्निएलका हातले नै कूशन-रिशातैमलाई परास्त गरे ।
11 And the land had rest forty years; and then died 'Othniel the son of Kenaz.
देशमा चालिस वर्षसम्म शान्ति भयो । त्यसपछि कनजका छोरा ओत्निएलको मृत्यु भयो ।
12 And the children of Israel did again the evil in the eyes of the Lord; and the Lord strengthened 'Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done the evil in the eyes of the Lord.
त्यसपछि, इस्राएलीहरूले परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा जे कुरा खराब थियो, फेरि त्यही गरे, र परमप्रभुले मोआबका राजा एग्लोनलाई इस्राएलीहरूमाथि अधिकार गर्न दिनुभयो ।
13 And he gathered unto him the children of 'Ammon and 'Amalek, and they went and smote Israel, and took possession of the city of palm-trees.
एग्लोन अम्मोनीहरू र अमालेकीहरूसँग मिले र तिनीहरू गए र इस्राएललाई हराए, अनि खजूरका रूखहरूको सहरमाथि अधिकार गरे ।
14 And the children of Israel served 'Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले अठार वर्षसम्म मोआबका राजा एग्लोनको सेवा गरे ।
15 But the children of Israel cried then unto the Lord; and the Lord raised up unto them a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera a Benjamite, a man who was lamed in his right hand; and the children of Israel sent by him a present unto 'Eglon the king of Moab.
जब इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुको पुकारा गरे, तिनीहरूलाई सहायता गर्नलाई परमप्रभुले कोही एक जना बेन्यामिनी गेराका छोरा देब्रे हात चलाउने मानिस एहूदलाई खडा गर्नुभयो । इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले उनको साथमा मोआबका राजा एग्लोनकहाँ कर पठाए ।
16 But Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he girded it under his garments upon his right thigh.
एहूदले आफ्नो निम्ति एक हात लामो दुई धारे तरवार बनाए । त्यो तिनले आफ्नो दाहिने जाँघमा आफ्नो लुगाभित्र बाँधे ।
17 And he brought the present near unto 'Eglon the king of Moab; now 'Eglon was a very fat man.
तिनले मोआबका राजा एग्लोनलाई त्यो कर तिरे । (एग्लोन धेरै मोटो मानिस थिए ।)
18 And it came to pass when he had made an end to offer the present, that he sent away the people who had borne the present.
एहूदले कर तिरिसकेपछि, ती ल्याउनेहरूसँगै उनी फर्के ।
19 But he himself returned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret word unto thee, O King. And he said, Keep silence. And thereupon went out from his presence all that stood by him.
गिलगालको नजिक कुँदेर बनाएका मुर्तिहरूको ठाउँमा जसै एहूद पुगे, उनी फर्के र फिर्ता गए, र भने, “मेरा राजा, तपाईंको निम्ति मसँग एउटा गुप्त सन्देश छ ।” एग्लोनले भने, “शान्त होओ!” यसैले उनको सेवा गर्ने सबैले त्यो कोठा छोडेर बाहिर गए ।
20 And Ehud came in unto him; and he was sitting in the summer upper chamber, which was for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a word of God unto thee. And he arose out of his chair.
एहूद तिनीकहाँ आए । राजाचाहिं माथिल्लो शीतल कक्षमा एक्लै बसिरहेका थिए । एहूदले भने, “मसँग तपाईंको निम्ति परमेश्वरको एउटा सन्देश छ ।” राजा आफ्नो ठाउँबाट उठे ।
21 And Ehud stretched forth his left hand, and took the sword from his right thigh, and thrust it into his body.
एहूदले आफ्नो देब्रे हातले आफ्नो दाहिने जाँघबाट तरवार झिके, र त्यो तिनले राजाको शरीरमा रोपिदिए ।
22 And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade; for he did not draw the sword out of his body, and it passed into the fundament.
त्यो तरवार बींडसितै छिर्यो । उनको पछिल्तिरबाट त्यो तरवारको टुप्पो निस्कियो र बोसोले त्यसलाई ढाक्यो, अनि एहूदले उनको पेटबाट त्यो तरवार झिकेनन् ।
23 And Ehud went forth into the ante-room, and shut the doors of the upper chamber after him, and locked them.
त्यसपछि एहूद कौसीमा निस्के र माथिल्लो कक्षका आफू पछाडिका ढोकाहरू थुनिदिए र ताल्चा लगाइदिए ।
24 He was just gone out, when his servants came; and they saw, behold, the doors of the upper chamber were locked; and they said, Surely he covereth his feet in the summer chamber.
एहूद गइसकेपछि, राजाका सेवकहरू आए । तिनीहरूले माथिल्लो कक्षका ढोकाहरूमा ताल्चा लागेको देखे । यसैले तिनीहरूले विचार गरे, “पक्कै पनि उहाँ माथिल्लो शीतल कक्षमा दिसा गरिरहनुभएको होला ।”
25 And they tarried till they were ashamed; and behold, he opened not the doors of the upper chamber; wherefore they took the key and opened them: and, behold, their lord was lying dead on the floor.
राजाले माथिल्लो कक्षका ढोकाहरू नखोलेपछि, आफ्नो जिम्मेवारी पुरा नगरेकोझैं तिनीहरूलाई महसुस भएको हुनाले तिनीहरूलाई चिन्ता भयो । यसैले तिनीहरूले साँचो लिए र ढोकाहरू खोले, र आफ्ना मालिकलाई भुइँमा मृत अवस्थामा ढलेको देखे ।
26 And Ehud had escaped while they were tarrying, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Se'irah.
अब के गर्ने भनेर सेवकहरू कुरिरहेका बेला, एहूद भागेर कुँदेर बनाइएका मुर्तिहरू भएका ठाउँभन्दा पर पुगे, र उनी सीरामा भागे ।
27 And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew the cornet on the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mountain, and he before them.
जब उनी आइपुगे, उनले एफ्राइमको पहाडी देशमा तुरही फुके । त्यसपछि इस्राएलका मानिसहरू उनीसँगै पहाडहरूबाट तल ओर्ले, र उनले तिनीहरूलाई नेतृत्व गरे ।
28 And he said unto them, Pursue after me; for the Lord hath delivered your enemies, the Moabites, into your hand. And they went down after him, and seized on the fords of the Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.
उनले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “मेरो पछि लाग, किनकि परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूका शत्रु मोआबीहरूलाई परास्त गर्न लाग्नुभएको छ ।” तिनीहरू उनको पछि लागे र तिनीहरूले मोआबीहरूबाट यर्दनका जँघारहरू लिए, र तिनीहरूले कसैलाई पनि त्यो नदी तर्न दिएनन् ।
29 And they smote of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valor; and there escaped not a man.
त्यस बेला तिनीहरूले मोआबका दश हजार मानिसहरूलाई मरे, र तिनीहरू सबै बलिया र सक्षम मानिसहरू थिए । एउटा पनि उम्केन ।
30 And Moab was humbled that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest eighty years.
यसैले त्यस दिन मोआब इस्राएलको शासनको अधीनमा आयो, र देशमा असी वर्षसम्म शान्ति भयो ।
31 And after him was Shamgar the son of 'Anath, who smote of the philistines six hundred men with an ox-goad; and he also delivered Israel.
एहूदपछि अनातका छोरा शमगर अर्का न्यायकर्ता भए जसले पाल्तु पशु धपाउने लौरोले पलिश्तीहरूका छ सय मानिसहरूलाई मरे । उनले इस्राएललाई खतराबाट पनि छुट्कारा दिए ।
