Judges 2
1 And a messenger of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, And he said, I caused you to go up out of Egypt, and I brought you unto the land which I had sworn unto your fathers; and I said, I will not break my covenant with you for ever.
௧யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் கில்காலிலிருந்து போகீமுக்கு வந்து: நான் உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்து, உங்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்குக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் நான் உங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்து விட்டு, உங்களோடு செய்த என்னுடைய உடன்படிக்கையை நான் ஒருபோதும் முறித்துப்போடுவதில்லை என்றும்,
2 But ye for your part shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; their altars shall ye throw down; but ye have not obeyed my voice: what is this ye have done?
௨நீங்கள் இந்த தேசத்தில் குடியிருக்கிறவர்களோடு உடன்படிக்கைசெய்யாமல், அவர்களுடைய பலிபீடங்களை இடித்துவிடவேண்டும் என்றும் சொன்னேன்; ஆனாலும் என்னுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல்போனீர்கள்; ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்தீர்கள்?
3 And I also have said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be evil neighbors to you, and their gods shall become a snare unto you.
௩ஆகவே, நான் அவர்களை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்துவதில்லை என்றேன்; அவர்கள் உங்களை நெருக்குவார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் உங்களுக்குக் கண்ணியாவார்கள் என்றார்.
4 And it came to pass, when the messenger of the Lord spoke these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
௪யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் இந்த வார்த்தைகளை இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் அனைவரிடமும் சொல்லும்போது, மக்கள் உரத்த சத்தமிட்டு அழுதார்கள்.
5 And they called the name of that place, Bochim; and they sacrificed there unto the Lord.
௫அந்த இடத்திற்கு போகீம் என்று பெயரிட்டு, அங்கே யெகோவா வுக்குப் பலிசெலுத்தினார்கள்.
6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to take possession of the land.
௬யோசுவா இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டபோது, அவர்கள் தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ள அவரவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட பாகத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.
7 And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that lived many days after Joshua, who had seen all the great deeds of the Lord, which he had done for Israel.
௭யோசுவாவின் எல்லா நாட்களிலும் யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகச் செய்த அவருடைய பெரிய செயல்களையெல்லாம் பார்த்தவர்களும், யோசுவாவிற்குப் பின்பு உயிரோடு இருந்தவர்களுமாகிய மூப்பர்களின் எல்லா நாட்களிலும் மக்கள் யெகோவாவைத் தொழுது கொண்டார்கள்.
8 Then died Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, being one hundred and ten years old.
௮நூனின் மகனான யோசுவா என்னும் யெகோவாவின் ஊழியக்காரன் 110 வயதுள்ளவனாக இறந்துபோனான்.
9 And they buried him on the border of his inheritance in Timnath-cheres, in the mountain of Ephraim, on the north side of mount Ga'ash.
௯அவனை எப்பிராயீமின் மலைத்தேசத்திலுள்ள காயாஸ் மலைக்கு வடக்கில் இருக்கிற அவனுடைய சுதந்திரத்தின் எல்லையாகிய திம்னாத்ஏரேசிலே அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்.
10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers; and there arose another generation after them, who knew not the Lord, and likewise not the deeds which he had done for Israel.
௧0அக்காலத்தில் இருந்த அந்தச் சந்ததியார்கள் எல்லோரும் தங்களுடைய பிதாக்களோடு சேர்க்கப்பட்டப்பின்பு, யெகோவாவையும், அவர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகச் செய்த செய்கைகளையும் அறியாத வேறொரு சந்ததி அவர்களுக்குப்பின்பு எழும்பியது.
11 And the children of Israel did the evil in the eyes of the Lord, and served the Be'alim:
௧௧அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்கு தீமையானதைச் செய்து, பாகால்களைத் தொழுது,
12 And they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and they went after other gods, of the gods of the nations that were round about them, and they bowed themselves unto them, and incensed the Lord.
௧௨தங்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படச் செய்த அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவைவிட்டு, தங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற மக்களுடைய தெய்வங்களாகிய அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றிப்போய், அவைகளைத் தொழுதுகொண்டு, யெகோவாவுக்குக் கோபமூட்டினார்கள்.
13 And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and 'Ashtaroth.
௧௩அவர்கள் யெகோவாவைவிட்டு, பாகாலையும் அஸ்தரோத்தையும் தொழுதுகொண்டார்கள்.
14 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of spoilers who spoiled them, and he sold them into the hand of their enemies round about, and they were not able any longer to stand before their enemies.
௧௪அப்பொழுது யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் கோபம்கொண்டவராகி, அவர்கள் அதற்குப்பின்பு தங்கள் எதிரிகளுக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கமுடியாதபடி கொள்ளையிடுகிற கொள்ளைக்காரர்களுடைய கையில் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற அவர்களுடைய எதிரிகளின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had spoken, and as the Lord had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
௧௫யெகோவா அவர்களுக்கு வாக்கு செய்தபடி, அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போகிற இடங்களெல்லாம் யெகோவாவுடைய கரம் தீமைக்கென்றே அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக இருந்தது; மிகவும் நெருக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
16 And the Lord raised up judges, and they delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
௧௬யெகோவா நியாயாதிபதிகளை எழும்பச்செய்தார்; அவர்கள் கொள்ளையிடுகிறவர்களின் கைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி காப்பாற்றினார்கள்.
17 But also unto their judges they did not hearken; but they went astray after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers had walked in, to obey the commandments of the Lord; they did not so.
௧௭அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய நியாயாதிபதிகளின் சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல், அந்நிய தெய்வங்களுக்குத் தங்களை விலைமாதர்களைப்போல ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, அவைகளைத் தொழுதுகொண்டார்கள்; தங்களுடைய பிதாக்கள் யெகோவாவின் கட்டளைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடந்த வழியை அவர்கள் சீக்கிரமாக விட்டு விலகி, பிதாக்கள் செய்தபடி செய்யாமற்போனார்கள்.
18 And when the Lord raised them up judges, then was the Lord with the judge, and he delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord bethought himself because of their groaning by reason of those that oppressed them and ill-treated them.
௧௮யெகோவா அவர்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதிகளை எழும்பச்செய்கிறபோது, யெகோவா நியாயாதிபதியோடு இருந்து அந்த நியாயாதிபதி வாழ்ந்த நாட்களிலெல்லாம் அவர்களுடைய எதிரிகளின் கைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி காப்பாற்றிவருவார்; அவர்கள் தங்களை இறுகப்பிடித்து ஒடுக்குகிறவர்களினால் தவிக்கிறதினாலே, யெகோவா துக்கப்படுவார்.
19 And it came to pass, when the judge died, that they returned, and became more corrupt than their fathers, in going after other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them: they omitted nothing from their doings, and from their stubborn way.
௧௯நியாயாதிபதி மரித்தவுடனே, அவர்கள் திரும்பி, அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, பணிவிடை செய்யவும், தொழுதுகொள்ளவும், தங்களுடைய பிதாக்களைவிட இழிவாக நடந்து, தங்களுடைய தீய செய்கைகளையும் தங்களுடைய முரட்டாட்டமான வழிகளையும் விடாதிருப்பார்கள்.
20 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel; and he said, For the cause that this people have transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice:
௨0ஆகையால் யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் கோபம்கொண்டவராகி: இந்த மக்கள் தங்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் கற்பித்த என்னுடைய உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி என்னுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல் போனதினால்,
21 So will I also for my part not drive out henceforth any man from before them out of the nations which Joshua left when he died;
௨௧யோசுவா இறந்தபின்பு விட்டுப்போன தேசங்களில் ஒருவரையும், நான் இனி அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிடாதிருப்பேன்.
22 In order to prove through them the Israelites, whether they will keep the way of the Lord, to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
௨௨அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்கள் யெகோவாவின் வழியைக் கவனித்ததுபோல, அவர்கள் அதிலே நடக்கும்படி, அதைக் கவனிப்பார்களோ இல்லையோ என்று, அவர்களைக்கொண்டு இஸ்ரவேலை சோதிப்பதற்காக அப்படிச் செய்வேன் என்றார்.
23 And thus did the Lord leave these nations, so as not to drive them out speedily; and he delivered them not into the hand of Joshua.
௨௩அதற்காகக் யெகோவா அந்த தேசங்களை யோசுவாவுடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்காமலும், அவைகளை சீக்கிரமாகத் துரத்திவிடாமலும் விட்டுவைத்தார்.
