Joshua 8
1 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou discouraged: take with thee all the people of war, and arise, go up to 'Ai; see, I have given into thy hand the king of 'Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land.
Yawe alobaki na Jozue: « Kobanga te mpe kolemba nzoto te. Kamata elongo na yo basoda nyonso, mata mpe bundisa engumba Ayi. Pamba te nasili kokaba na maboko na yo: mokonzi ya Ayi, bato na ye, engumba na ye, mpe mokili na ye.
2 And thou shalt do to 'Ai and to its king as thou hast done unto Jericho and its king; only its spoil and its cattle shall ye take for booty unto yourselves; but lay thee an ambush for the city in its rear.
Okosala engumba Ayi mpe mokonzi na yango ndenge osalaki Jeriko mpe mokonzi na yango; kasi bokoki kozwa mpo na bino lokola bomengo ya bitumba, biloko mpe bibwele na yango. Bomba basoda na sima ya engumba. »
3 So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against 'Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valor, and sent them away by night.
Jozue atelemaki elongo na basoda nyonso mpo na kobundisa engumba Ayi. Aponaki bilombe ya bitumba nkoto tuku misato mpe atindaki bango na butu.
4 And he commanded them, saying, Behold, ye shall lie in wait against the city, in the rear of the city; go not very far from the city; and be ye all ready;
Apesaki bango mitindo oyo: « Bobombama na sima ya engumba oyo; bozala penza mosika mingi te na engumba, kasi bozala pene.
5 And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city; and it shall come to pass that, when they come out against us, as at the first time, we will flee before them;
Ngai mpe bato nyonso oyo bazali elongo na ngai, tokopusana pene ya engumba. Tango bakobima mpo na kobundisa biso lokola na mbala oyo eleki, tokokima liboso na bango.
6 And they will come out after us, till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They flee from us as at the first time: and we will flee before them.
Bakolanda biso, mpe tokobenda bango mosika ya engumba, pamba te bakoloba: ‹ Bazali kokima liboso na biso lokola na mbala oyo eleki, › mpe tokokima liboso na bango.
7 And then shall ye rise up from the ambush, and take possession of the city; and the Lord your God will deliver it in into your hand.
Boye, bino bokobima wuta na bisika oyo bokobombama mpe bokobotola engumba. Yawe, Nzambe na bino, akabi yango na maboko na bino.
8 And it shall be, that as soon as ye have seized the city, ye shall set the city on fire; according to the word of the Lord shall ye do: see, I have commanded you.
Tango bokobotola engumba, botia yango moto mpe bosala ndenge Yawe alobaki. »
9 And Joshua sent them off: and they went to lie in ambush, and remained between Beth-el and 'Ai, on the west side of 'Ai; but Joshua lodged that night among the people.
Jozue atindaki bango, mpe bakendeki na esika oyo basengelaki kobombama. Babombamaki na kati-kati ya Beteli mpe Ayi, na ngambo ya weste ya Ayi. Jozue alekisaki butu wana elongo na bana ya Isalaele.
10 And Joshua rose up early in the morning, and numbered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people, toward 'Ai.
Jozue alamukaki na tongo-tongo penza mpe atalaki ndenge nini basoda na ye bamilengelaki. Sima na yango, alekaki liboso elongo na bakambi ya Isalaele mpo na kokende kobundisa engumba Ayi.
11 And all the people of war that were with him went up, and drew nigh, and came opposite the city, and encamped on the north side of 'Ai; and the valley was between them and 'Ai.
Basoda na ye nyonso bapusanaki kino na liboso ya engumba mpe batongaki molako na bango na ngambo ya nor ya Ayi, bongo lubwaku ezalaki kati na bango mpe Ayi.
12 And he took about five thousand men, and set them as an ambush between Beth-el and 'Ai, on the west side of 'Ai.
Jozue azwaki basoda nkoto mitano mpe abombaki bango na kati-kati ya Beteli mpe Ayi, na ngambo ya weste ya engumba.
13 And the people, all the camp that was on the north of the city, and its ambush on the west of the city got ready; and Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley.
Mampinga ya basoda oyo bazalaka na liboso, na bitumba, batongaki molako na bango na ngambo ya nor ya engumba; mpe basoda oyo batikalaka na sima, na ngambo ya weste ya engumba. Na butu wana, Jozue akendeki na kati-kati ya etando.
14 And it came to pass, when the king of 'Ai saw this, the men of the city hastened and rose up early, and went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at the time appointed, before the plain; but he knew not that there was an ambush against him in the rear of the city.
Tango mokonzi ya Ayi amonaki bongo, ye elongo na bato na ye nyonso, bavandi ya engumba, batelemaki na lombangu mpe babimaki mpo na kobundisa Isalaele na esika oyo nzela ekutana, liboso ya Araba. Ayebaki te ete basoda mosusu babombamaki na sima ya engumba.
15 And Joshua and Israel feigned themselves beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.
Jozue mpe bana nyonso ya Isalaele bakosaki lokola bato oyo basili kokweya na bitumba mpe bakimaki na ngambo ya esobe.
16 And all the people that were in 'Ai were called together to pursue after them; and they pursued after Joshua, and were drawn away from the city.
Babelelaki bato nyonso ya Ayi mpo ete balanda bango. Boye, balandaki Jozue mpe bakendeki mosika ya engumba.
17 And there was not a man left in 'Ai or Beth-el, that went not out after Israel; and they left the city open, and pursued after Israel.
Kati na Ayi mpe Beteli, mobali moko te atikalaki oyo azangaki kolanda Isalaele. Batikaki engumba ya kofungwama, wana bazalaki kolanda Isalaele.
18 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Stretch out the spear that is in thy hand toward 'Ai; for into thy hand will I give it. And Joshua stretched out the spear which was in his hand toward the city.
Yawe alobaki na Jozue: « Sembola na ngambo ya Ayi likonga oyo osimbi na loboko, pamba te nalingi kokaba yango na maboko na yo. » Boye Jozue asembolaki na ngambo ya engumba likonga oyo ezalaki na loboko na ye.
19 And the ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he stretched out his hand; and they entered into the city, and took possession of it, and hastened and set the city on fire.
Tango kaka asembolaki loboko, basoda oyo babombamaki babimaki na lombangu wuta na bisika oyo babombamaki, bakotaki na engumba, babotolaki yango mpe batiaki yango moto.
20 And the men of 'Ai turned [and looked] behind them, and they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven; and they had no power to flee this way or that way; and the people that had fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.
Tango bato ya Ayi batalaki na sima, bamonaki milinga komata na likolo wuta na engumba; moko te akokaki lisusu kokima na ngambo moko to na ngambo mosusu. Bana ya Isalaele oyo bazalaki kokima na esobe babalukelaki bato oyo bazalaki kolanda bango.
21 For when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had seized the city, and that the smoke of the city ascended: they turned back, and smote the men of 'Ai.
Boye, tango Jozue mpe bana nyonso ya Isalaele bamonaki ete basoda oyo babombamaki bazwi engumba mpe milinga ezali komata wuta na engumba, bazongaki mpe babomaki bato ya Ayi.
22 And the others issued out of the city against them; so that the Israelites had them in the middle, some on this side, and some on that side; and they smote them, until there was not left of them one that remained or escaped.
Basoda ya Isalaele oyo babombamaki, babimaki na engumba mpo na kobundisa bango. Bato ya Ayi bakomaki na kati-kati ya basoda ya Isalaele oyo bazalaki, bamoko na ngambo moko, mpe bamosusu, na ngambo mosusu. Basoda ya Isalaele basilisaki koboma bango nyonso, ata moko te atikalaki na bomoi, mpe ata moko te akimaki.
23 And the king of 'Ai they caught alive, and brought him to Joshua.
Kasi bakangaki ya bomoi mokonzi ya Ayi mpe bamemaki ye epai ya Jozue.
24 And it came to pass, that, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of 'Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they had pursued them, and when they were all fallen by the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, All the Israelites returned unto 'Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword.
Tango Isalaele asilisaki koboma mibali nyonso ya Ayi, kati na zamba mpe kati na esobe epai wapi balandaki bango, mpe wana bango nyonso basilaki kokufa na mopanga, bana nyonso ya Isalaele bazongaki na Ayi mpe babomaki na mopanga bato nyonso oyo bazalaki kuna.
25 And [the number of] all that fell in that day, both of men and women, was twelve thousand, all the people of 'Ai.
Motango ya bato nyonso oyo bakufaki na mokolo wana, basi mpe mibali, ezalaki nkoto zomi na mibale: bango nyonso bazalaki bato ya Ayi.
26 And Joshua drew not back his hand, wherewith he had stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of 'Ai.
Jozue akitisaki te loboko na ye, oyo esimbaki likonga kino tango asilisaki koboma bato nyonso oyo bazalaki kovanda na Ayi.
27 Only the cattle and the spoil of that city Israel took as booty unto themselves, according to the word of the Lord which he had commanded Joshua.
Kasi Isalaele azwaki mpo na ye, lokola bomengo ya bitumba, bibwele mpe biloko ya engumba yango, kolanda liloba oyo Yawe alobaki na Jozue.
28 And Joshua burnt 'Ai, and made it a ruinous heap of desolation for ever, even unto this day,
Jozue atumbaki Ayi mpe akomisaki yango libebi mpo na libela, esika ezanga bato kino na mokolo ya lelo.
29 And the king of 'Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide; and at the going down of the sun, Joshua commanded, and they took his carcass down from the tree and cast it at the entrance of the city gate, and they raised over him a great heap of stones, [which is] even unto this day.
Adiembikaki mokonzi ya Ayi, na nzete kino na pokwa; bongo tango moyi elalaki, Jozue atindaki ete balongola ebembe yango na nzete. Babwakaki yango na ekotelo ya ekuke ya engumba mpe batondisaki na likolo na yango liboke monene ya mabanga oyo ezali kino na mokolo ya lelo.
30 Then did Joshua build an altar unto the Lord, the God of Israel on mount 'Ebal,
Jozue atongaki etumbelo mpo na Yawe, Nzambe ya Isalaele, na ngomba Ebali,
31 As Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no one had lifted up any iron tool; and they offered thereon burnt-offerings unto the Lord, and sacrificed peace-offerings.

32 And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.
Na esika yango, na miso ya bana nyonso ya Isalaele, Jozue akomaki, na likolo ya mabanga, Mobeko oyo Moyize akomaki mpo na bana ya Isalaele.
33 And all Israel, and their elders, and the officers, and their judges, stood on this side and on that side of the ark, opposite the priests the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the stranger no less than the native born: half of them turned toward mount Gerizzim, and the other half of them turned toward mount 'Ebal; as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded, to bless the people of Israel at first.
Bato nyonso ya Isalaele elongo na bakambi na bango, bakomi mibeko mpe basambisi na bango, batelemaki ngambo na ngambo ya Sanduku ya Boyokani, liboso ya Banganga-Nzambe oyo bazali Balevi mpe bamemaka Sanduku ya Boyokani ya Yawe. Mopaya elongo na mwana mboka ya Isalaele bazalaki wana. Ndambo ezalaki liboso ya ngomba Garizimi, mpe ndambo mosusu, liboso ya ngomba Ebali, kolanda mitindo oyo Moyize, mosali na Yawe, apesaki mpo na kopambola bana ya Isalaele.
34 And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessing and the curse, all, just as it is written in the book of the law.
Sima na yango, Jozue atangaki maloba nyonso ya Mobeko: mapamboli mpe bilakeli mabe kolanda ndenge ekomama kati na buku ya Mobeko.
35 There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded, which Joshua did not read before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the stranger that walked in the midst of them.
Jozue azangisaki te kotanga, liboso ya lisanga mobimba ya Isalaele, basi, bana mpe bapaya oyo bazalaki kati na bango, maloba nyonso oyo Moyize akomaki.
