< Joshua 20 >

1 And the Lord spoke unto Joshua, saying,
Nígbà náà ni Olúwa sọ fún Joṣua pé,
2 speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint for yourselves the cities of refuge, whereof I have spoken unto you by the hand of Moses;
“Sọ fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli pé kí wọn yan àwọn ìlú ààbò, gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti pàṣẹ fún ọ láti ẹnu Mose,
3 That thither may flee the manslayer that killeth any person unawares, without knowledge; and they shall be unto you for a refuge from the avenger of the blood.
kí ẹni tí ó bá ṣèèṣì pa ènìyàn tàbí tí ó bá pa ènìyàn láìmọ̀-ọ́n-mọ̀ lè sálọ sí ibẹ̀, fún ààbò lọ́wọ́ olùgbẹ̀san ẹ̀jẹ̀ ẹni tí ó pa.
4 And he shall flee unto one of those cities, and he shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and speak in the ears of the elders of that city his words; and they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
Nígbà tí ó bá sálọ sí ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ìlú wọ̀nyí, yóò sì dúró ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà àtiwọ ibodè ìlú, kí ó sì ṣe àlàyé ara rẹ̀ ní iwájú àwọn àgbàgbà ìlú náà. Nígbà náà ni wọn yóò gbà á sí ìlú wọn, wọn yóò sì fun ní ibùgbé láàrín wọn.
5 And if the avenger of the blood should pursue after him, then shall they not deliver the manslayer up into his hand; because without knowledge did he smite his neighbor, and he was not an enemy to him in time past.
Bí olùgbẹ̀san ẹ̀jẹ̀ bá ń lépa rẹ̀, wọn kò gbọdọ̀ fi àwọn ọ̀daràn náà lé wọn lọ́wọ́, nítorí tí ó pa aládùúgbò rẹ̀ láìmọ̀, tí kò sì kórìíra rẹ̀ tẹ́lẹ̀ rí.
6 And he shall dwell in that city, until he shall have stood before the congregation for judgment, [and] until the death of the high-priest that may be in those days: then shall the manslayer return, and come unto his own house, unto the city whence he hath fled.
Òun ó sì máa gbé inú ìlú náà, títí yóò fi jẹ́jọ́ níwájú ìjọ ènìyàn àti títí ikú olórí àlùfáà tí ó ń ṣiṣẹ́ ìsìn nígbà náà. Nígbà náà ó lè padà sí ilé rẹ̀ ní ìlú tí ó ti sá wá.”
7 And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in the mountain of Naphtali, and Shechem in the mountain of Ephraim, and Kiryath-arba', which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n yan Kedeṣi ní Galili ní ìlú òkè Naftali, Ṣekemu ní ìlú òkè Efraimu, àti Kiriati-Arba (tí í ṣe, Hebroni) ní ìlú òkè Juda.
8 And on the other side of the Jordan by Jericho eastward, they appointed Bezer in the wilderness in the plain from the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gil'ad from the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan from the tribe of Menasseh.
Ní ìhà ìlà-oòrùn Jordani ti Jeriko, wọ́n ya Beseri ní aginjù ní pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ ní ẹ̀yà Reubeni, Ramoti ní Gileadi ní ẹ̀yà Gadi, àti Golani ní Baṣani ní ẹ̀yà Manase.
9 These were the cities assigned for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that thither might flee whosoever killeth any person at unawares, and that he should not die by the hand of the avenger of the blood, until he have stood before the congregation.
Ẹnikẹ́ni nínú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli tàbí àlejò tí ń gbé ní àárín wọn tí ó ṣèèṣì pa ẹnìkan lè sálọ sí àwọn ìlú tí a yà sọ́tọ̀ wọ̀nyí, kí olùgbẹ̀san ẹ̀jẹ̀ má sì ṣe pa á kí ó to di àkókò tí yóò jẹ́jọ́ níwájú ìjọ ènìyàn.
