Joshua 17
1 And then came the lot for the tribe of Menasseh; for he was the first-born of Joseph: to wit, for Machir the first-born of Menasseh, the father of Gil'ad; because he was a man of war, therefore he obtained Gil'ad and Bashan.
Tuvo también suerte la tribu de Manasés, porque fue primogénito de José; Maquir primogénito de Manasés, padre de Galaad, el cual fue hombre de guerra, tuvo a Galaad, y a Basán.
2 There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Menasseh after their families; for the children of Abi'ezer, and for the children of Chelek, and for the children of Assriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Chepher, and for the children of Shemida': these were the male children of Menasseh the son of Joseph after their families.
Tuvieron también suerte los otros hijos de Manasés conforme a sus familias, es a saber, los hijos de Abiezer, y los hijos de Helec, y los hijos de Esriel, y los hijos de Sequem, y los hijos de Hefer, y los hijos de Semida. Estos fueron los hijos varones de Manasés hijo de José por sus familias.
3 But Zelophchad, the son of Chepher, the son of Gil'ad, the son of Machir, the son of Menasseh, had no sons, but only daughters, and these are the names of his daughters, Machlah, and No'ah, Choglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
Y Salfaad hijo de Hefer, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, no tuvo hijos sino hijas; los nombres de las cuales son estos: Maala, Noa, Hegla, Melca, y Tersa.
4 And they came near before Elazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The Lord commanded Moses to give unto us an inheritance among our brethren. And he gave them, according to the order of the Lord, an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
Estas vinieron delante de Eleazar sacerdote, y de Josué hijo de Nun, y de los príncipes, y dijeron: Jehová mandó a Moisés que nos diese herencia entre nuestros hermanos. Y él les dio herencia entre los hermanos del padre de ellas, conforme al dicho de Jehová.
5 And there fell ten portions of Menasseh, beside the lands of Gil'ad and Bashan, which were on the other side of the Jordan;
Y cayeron a Manasés diez suertes allende de la tierra de Galaad y de Basán, que es de la otra parte del Jordán;
6 Because the daughters of Menasseh obtained an inheritance among his sons: and the land of Gil'ad belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.
Porque las hijas de Manasés poseyeron herencia entre sus hijos: y la tierra de Galaad, fue de los otros hijos de Manasés.
7 And the boundary of Menasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, that lieth before Shechem; and the boundary went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of 'En-tappuach.
Y fue el término de Manasés desde Asser Macmatat, la cual está delante de Siquem; y va este término, a la mano derecha a los que habitan En-tappua;
8 To Menasseh belonged the land of Tappuach; but Tappuach on the borders of Menasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;
Y la tierra de Tappua fue de Manasés, porque la Tappua que está junto al término de Manasés, es de los hijos de Efraím;
9 And the boundary descended unto the brook Kanah, southward of the brook; these cities belonging to Ephraim are in the midst of the cities of Menasseh; and the boundary of Menasseh was on the north side of the river, and its terminations were toward the sea:
Y desciende este término al arroyo de Cana hacia el mediodía, al arroyo. Estas ciudades de Efraím están entre las ciudades de Manasés: y el término de Manasés es desde el norte del mismo arroyo, y sus salidas son a la mar.
10 Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Menasseh's, and the sea was [there] his boundary; and on Asher they touched on the north, and on Issachar on the east.
Efraím al mediodía, y Manasés al norte: y la mar es su término: y encuéntranse con Asser a la parte del norte: y con Isacar al oriente.
11 And to Menasseh belonged in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and its towns, and Yible'am and its towns, together with the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of 'En-dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Ta'anach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns, namely the three districts.
Tuvo también Manasés en Isacar y en Asser a Bet-sán, y sus aldeas: y Jeblaam, y sus aldeas: y los moradores de Dor, y sus aldeas: y los moradores de En-dor, y sus aldeas: y los moradores de Tenac, y sus aldeas: y los moradores de Mageddo, y sus aldeas, tres provincias.
12 Yet the children of Menasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of these cities; but the Canaanites succeeded to dwell in this land;
Mas los hijos de Manasés no pudieron echar a los de aquellas ciudades, antes el Cananeo quiso habitar en la tierra.
13 Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were become strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but they did not drive them out.
Empero cuando los hijos de Israel tomaron fuerzas, hicieron tributario al Cananeo, mas no lo echaron.
14 And the children of Joseph spoke unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion as an inheritance, seeing I am a numerous people, to which extent the Lord hath hitherto blessed me?
Y los hijos de José hablaron a Josué, diciendo: ¿Por qué me has dado por heredad una sola suerte, y una sola parte, siendo yo un pueblo tan grande, y que Jehová me ha así bendecido hasta ahora?
15 And Joshua said unto them, If thou art a numerous people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down [a space] for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim, if the mountain of Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
Y Josué les respondió: Si eres tan grande pueblo sube tu al monte, y corta para ti allí en la tierra del Ferezeo y de los gigantes; pues que el monte de Efraím es angosto para ti.
16 And the children of Joseph said, The mountain will not be enough for us; and chariots of iron are belonging to all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley, to those who are at Beth-shean and its towns, and to those who are in the valley of Yizre'el.
Y los hijos de José dijeron: No nos bastará a nosotros este monte: y todos los Cananeos que tienen la tierra de la campaña, tienen carros herrados, los que están en Bet-sán, y en sus aldeas, y los que están en el valle de Jezreel.
17 And Joshua said unto the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Menasseh, as followeth, Thou art a numerous people, and hast great power; thou shalt not have one lot only;
Entonces Josué respondió a la casa de José, a Efraím y Manasés, diciendo: A la verdad tú eres gran pueblo, y tienes gran fuerza: no habrás una sola suerte;
18 But the mountain shall be thine; it is indeed a wood, yet thou canst cut it down; and the terminations of it shall be thine; for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, though they be strong.
Mas aquel monte será tuyo: que bosque es, y tú lo cortarás, y serán tuyos sus términos: porque tu echarás al Cananeo, aunque tenga carros herrados, y aunque sea fuerte.
