< Joshua 16 >

1 And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, unto the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho by the mount Beth-el,
Pea naʻe tō ʻae tofiʻa ʻoe fānau ʻa Siosefa mei Soatani ʻo ofi ki Seliko, ki he vai ʻo Seliko ʻi he potu hahake, ʻo aʻu atu ki he toafa ʻaia ʻoku ʻalu mei Seliko ʻo ʻalu ʻo ʻasi ʻi he moʻunga ko Peteli,
2 And [the boundary] went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along unto the boundary of the Arkites to 'Ataroth,
Pea ʻoku ʻalu ai mei Peteli ki Lusa, ʻo ʻalu ai pe ki he ngaahi potu fonua ʻo ʻAliki, mo ʻAtaloti.
3 And went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphleti, unto the border of Beth-choron the lower, and to Gezer; and its terminations were toward the sea.
Pea ʻoku ʻalu hifo ʻi he potu lulunga ki he potu ʻo Safileti, ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga ʻo Pete-Holoni ʻi lalo, pea ki Kesa: pea ʻoku aʻu atu hono ngataʻanga ki he tahi.
4 This did the children of Joseph, Menasseh and Ephraim, take as their inheritance.
Pea ko e fānau ʻa Siosefa ko Manase mo ʻIfalemi, naʻa na maʻu hona tofiʻa.
5 And [this] was the boundary of the children of Ephraim according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance on the east side was 'Atroth-addar, up to Beth-choron the upper;
Pea ko hono ngataʻanga ʻoe tofiʻa ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIfalemi ʻo fakatatau ki honau ngaahi faʻahinga naʻe pehē: ʻio, ko hono ngataʻanga ʻo honau tofiʻa ki he potu hahake naʻe ʻi ʻAtaloti ata, ʻo aʻu atu ki Pete-holoni ʻi hahake;
6 And the boundary went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north; and the boundary fetched a compass eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Yanochah;
Pea naʻe ʻalu atu hono ngataʻanga ʻo hanga atu ki tahi ki Mikimeta ʻi he potu tokelau; pea ʻalu ai hono ngataʻanga ʻi he potu hahake ki Tenate-Sailo, pea mole ai ʻi he potu hahake ki Sanoa;
7 And it went down from Yanochah to 'Ataroth, and to Na'arath, and touched on Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.
Pea ʻalu hifo mei Sanoa ki ʻAtaloti, pea ki Neelati, ʻo aʻu ki Seliko, pea ngata atu ia ki Soatani.
8 From Tappuach westward the border went out unto the brook Kanah; and its terminations were toward the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim after their families;
Pea naʻe ʻalu hono ngataʻanga mei Tapua ʻi he potu lulunga ʻo aʻu atu ki he vaitafe ko Kana; pea ko hono ngataʻanga ʻo ia ko e tahi. Ko eni ʻae tofiʻa ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIfalemi ʻi honau ngaahi faʻahinga.
9 And [in addition to this] the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Menasseh, all the cities with their villages.
Pea ko e ngaahi kolo tuʻu kehe naʻe tuku ki he fānau ʻa ʻIfalemi naʻe ʻi he tofiʻa ʻoe fānau ʻa Manase, ʻa ʻenau ngaahi kolo mo honau ngaahi potu kakai.
10 And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites until this day, and became tributary servants.
Pea naʻe ʻikai tenau kapusi kituaʻā ʻae kau Kēnani, ʻaia naʻe nofo ʻi Kesa: ka kuo nofo ʻae kau Kēnani fakataha mo e kakai ʻIfalemi, ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ni, ʻonau tauhi mo tukuhau ki ai.
