Joshua 16

1 And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, unto the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho by the mount Beth-el,

Žreb Jožefovih otrok je padel od Jordana pri Jerihi, do vode Jerihe na vzhodu, k divjini, ki gre gor od Jerihe, čez goro Betel

2 And [the boundary] went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along unto the boundary of the Arkites to 'Ataroth,

in gre iz Betela v Luz in gre vzdolž do meja Arkičanov k Atarótu

3 And went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphleti, unto the border of Beth-choron the lower, and to Gezer; and its terminations were toward the sea.

in se spusti zahodno, k pokrajini Jaflétovcev, do pokrajine spodnjega Bet Horóna in do Gezerja in njeni izhodi so pri morju.

4 This did the children of Joseph, Menasseh and Ephraim, take as their inheritance.

Tako sta Jožefova otroka, Manáse in Efrájim, vzela svojo dediščino.

5 And [this] was the boundary of the children of Ephraim according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance on the east side was 'Atroth-addar, up to Beth-choron the upper;

Meja Efrájimovih sinov, glede na njihove družine, je bila takšna, torej meja njihove dediščine na vzhodni strani je bil Atrót Adár, do gornjega Bet Horóna

6 And the boundary went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north; and the boundary fetched a compass eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Yanochah;

in meja je šla ven proti morju v Mihmetát na severni strani in meja je šla naokoli proti vzhodu v Taanát Šilo in šla poleg njega na vzhodu do Janóaha

7 And it went down from Yanochah to 'Ataroth, and to Na'arath, and touched on Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.

in se spustila od Janóaha k Atarótu in k Naári in prišla k Jerihi in izšla pri Jordanu.

8 From Tappuach westward the border went out unto the brook Kanah; and its terminations were toward the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim after their families;

Meja je potekala od Tapúaha proti zahodu, k reki Kano in njeni izhodi so bili pri morju. To je dediščina rodu Efrájimovih otrok po njihovih družinah.

9 And [in addition to this] the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Menasseh, all the cities with their villages.

Oddvojena mesta za Efrájimove otroke so bila med dediščino Manásejevih otrok, vsa mesta z njihovimi vasmi.

10 And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites until this day, and became tributary servants.

Niso pa pregnali Kánaancev, ki so prebivali v Gezerju, temveč so Kánaanci prebivali med Efrájimci do današnjega dne in služili podvrženi plačevanju davka.
