Joshua 16

1 And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, unto the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho by the mount Beth-el,

Isabelo sikaJosefa saqala eJodani, empumalanga yamanzi eJerikho, sakhwela sisuka lapho sisiya enkangala singena elizweni lamaqaqa eBhetheli.

2 And [the boundary] went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along unto the boundary of the Arkites to 'Ataroth,

Sadabula sisuka eBhetheli (okutsho iLuzi) sachaphela esabelweni sama-Arikhithi e-Atharothi,

3 And went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphleti, unto the border of Beth-choron the lower, and to Gezer; and its terminations were toward the sea.

sehlela entshonalanga esabelweni samaJafilethi sisiyabamba ekhunjini lweBhethi-Horoni, sibuye siqonde eGezeri, sisiyaphelela olwandle.

4 This did the children of Joseph, Menasseh and Ephraim, take as their inheritance.

Ngakho uManase lo-Efrayimi, izizukulwane zikaJosefa, bemukela ilifa labo.

5 And [this] was the boundary of the children of Ephraim according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance on the east side was 'Atroth-addar, up to Beth-choron the upper;

Leli kwakulilizwe lika-Efrayimi ngokosendo lwakhe: Umngcele welifa labo wawusuka e-Atharothi-Ada empumalanga usiya eBhethi-Horoni Ephezulu

6 And the boundary went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north; and the boundary fetched a compass eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Yanochah;

waqhubeka usiya olwandle. Usuka eMikhimethathi enyakatho wajika empumalanga usiya eThahanathi-Shilo, usedlula eJanowa empumalanga.

7 And it went down from Yanochah to 'Ataroth, and to Na'arath, and touched on Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.

Wasusehlela phansi usuka eJanowa usiya e-Atharothi leNara, wagudla iJerikho wayaphutshela kuJodani.

8 From Tappuach westward the border went out unto the brook Kanah; and its terminations were toward the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim after their families;

Usuka eThaphuwa umngcele waya entshonalanga eDongeni lweKhana wayaphelela olwandle. Leli kwakuyilifa lesizwana sako-Efrayimi, usendo lunye ngalunye.

9 And [in addition to this] the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Menasseh, all the cities with their villages.

Wawugoqela njalo wonke amadolobho lemizana yawo eyayehlukaniselwe abako-Efrayimi phakathi kwelifa labakoManase.

10 And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites until this day, and became tributary servants.

Kabazange bawadudule amaKhenani ayehlala eGezeri; kuze kube lamhla amaKhenani ahlala phakathi kwabantu bako-Efrayimi kodwa besenziswa umsebenzi wesibhalo.
