Joshua 16

1 And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, unto the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho by the mount Beth-el,

N’omugabo gw’ettaka ly’abaana ba Yusufu ne guva ku Yoludaani awali Yeriko ku ludda olw’ebuvanjuba olw’amazzi g’e Yeriko, okutuuka mu ddungu, n’erinnya okuva e Yeriko n’eyita mu nsi ey’ensozi n’etuuka e Beseri

2 And [the boundary] went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along unto the boundary of the Arkites to 'Ataroth,

N’eyita e Beseri okutuuka e Eruzi n’okuyita ku nsalo ey’Abaluki mu Atalosi

3 And went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphleti, unto the border of Beth-choron the lower, and to Gezer; and its terminations were toward the sea.

n’okukka ku luuyi olw’ebugwanjuba ku nsalo ey’Abayafuleti ku nsalo ey’e Besukolooni eky’emmanga ku Gezeri n’ekoma ku nnyanja.

4 This did the children of Joseph, Menasseh and Ephraim, take as their inheritance.

Bwe batyo abaana ba Yusufu: Manase ne Efulayimu ne batwala omugabo gwabwe.

5 And [this] was the boundary of the children of Ephraim according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance on the east side was 'Atroth-addar, up to Beth-choron the upper;

Ettaka ly’abaana ba Efulayimu ng’enju zaabwe bwe zaali eno gye lyayitanga; ku luuyi olw’ebuvanjuba ku Atalosuaddali n’okutuuka ku Besukolooni ey’Ekyengulu,

6 And the boundary went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north; and the boundary fetched a compass eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Yanochah;

ne yeeyongera ku nnyanja ne ku Mikumesasi mu bukiikakkono ne yeetooloola ku luuyi olw’ebuvanjuba ku Taanasi Siiro, n’olwebuvanjuba olw’e Yanoa,

7 And it went down from Yanochah to 'Ataroth, and to Na'arath, and touched on Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.

n’ekka ku Atalosi ne ku Naala n’ekwata ku Yeriko n’etuuka ku Yoludaani.

8 From Tappuach westward the border went out unto the brook Kanah; and its terminations were toward the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim after their families;

N’eva ku Tappua n’eyita ku luuyi olw’ebugwanjuba n’etuuka ku mugga Kana n’ekoma ku nnyanja. Bino bye bitundu ekika ky’abaana ba Efulayimu bye baagabana ng’enju zaabwe bwe zaali.

9 And [in addition to this] the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Menasseh, all the cities with their villages.

Ku bino kwaliko ebibuga n’ebyalo byakwo byonna ebyaterekerwa abaana ba Efulayimu abaali mu kitundu kya Manase ebibuga byonna n’ebyalo byabwe.

10 And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites until this day, and became tributary servants.

Wabula tebaagoba Bakanani abaali mu Gezeri, baasigala wakati mu Efulayimu n’okutuusa leero nga balimu ng’abaddu nga bakola.
