Joshua 14
1 And these are the countries which the children of Israel obtained as an inheritance in the land of Canaan, which Elazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the divisions of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for an inheritance unto them,
Și acestea sunt țările pe care le-au moștenit copiii lui Israel în țara Canaanului, pe care le-au împărțit lor, ca moștenire, preotul Eleazar și Iosua, fiul lui Nun, și capii părinților triburilor copiilor lui Israel.
2 By the lot as their inheritance: as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and the half tribe.
Moștenirea lor a fost prin sorț, așa cum poruncise DOMNUL prin mâna lui Moise, la nouă triburi și la o jumătate de trib.
3 For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half tribe on the other side of the Jordan; but unto the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.
Fiindcă Moise dăduse moștenirea celor două triburi și jumătății de trib dincolo de Iordan, dar leviților nu le dăduse moștenire între ei.
4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Menasseh and Ephraim; therefore they gave no portion unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their open spaces for their cattle and for their substance.
Căci copiii lui Iosif erau două triburi: Manase și Efraim; de aceea nu au dat parte leviților în țară, în afară de cetăți de locuit și împrejurimile lor pentru turmele lor și pentru averea lor.
5 As the Lord had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel, and so divided they the land.
Așa cum poruncise DOMNUL lui Moise, așa au făcut copiii lui Israel și au împărțit țara.
6 And the children of Judah came near unto Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Yephunneh the Kenizzite said unto him, Thou well knowest the word which the Lord spoke unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thyself in Kadesh-barnea'.
Atunci copiii lui Iuda au venit la Iosua în Ghilgal; și Caleb, fiul lui Iefune chenezitul, i-a spus: Tu știi lucrul pe care l-a spus DOMNUL lui Moise, omul lui Dumnezeu, despre mine și despre tine, în Cades-Barnea.
7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea' to spy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
Eu eram de patruzeci de ani când m-a trimis Moise, servitorul DOMNULUI, din Cades-Barnea să spionez țara; și i-am adus știre așa cum era în inima mea.
8 But my brethren who had gone up with me caused the heart of the people to be faint; but I wholly followed the Lord my God.
Totuși, frații mei care se urcaseră cu mine, au făcut să se topească inima poporului, dar eu l-am urmat pe deplin pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul meu.
9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy foot hath trodden shall belong to thee for an inheritance, and to thy children for ever; because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.
Și Moise a jurat în ziua aceea, spunând: Negreșit, pământul pe care ți-a călcat piciorul va fi moștenirea ta și a copiilor tăi pentru totdeauna, pentru că l-ai urmat pe deplin pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul meu.
10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he hath spoken: it is now forty and five years since the Lord spoke this word unto Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty and five years old.
Și acum, iată, DOMNUL m-a păstrat viu, așa cum a spus, acești patruzeci și cinci de ani, de când a spus DOMNUL cuvântul acesta către Moise, când umbla Israel prin pustiu; și acum, iată, astăzi sunt de optzeci și cinci de ani.
11 I am yet this day as strong as I was on the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, and to go out, and to come in.
Sunt încă tot așa de tare astăzi ca și în ziua în care m-a trimis Moise; cum era tăria mea atunci, așa este tăria mea acum, pentru război, de asemenea pentru a ieși și pentru a intra.
12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spoke on that day; for thou didst hear on that day that the 'Anakim were there, and great fortified cities: perhaps the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as the Lord hath spoken.
Și acum, dă-mi muntele acesta, despre care a vorbit DOMNUL în ziua aceea; fiindcă ai auzit în ziua aceea cum anachimii erau acolo și că cetățile erau mari și întărite. Dacă este așa, că DOMNUL este cu mine, atunci îi voi alunga, așa cum a spus DOMNUL.
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron unto Caleb the son of Yephunneh for an inheritance.
Și Iosua l-a binecuvântat și a dat Hebronul ca moștenire lui Caleb, fiul lui Iefune.
14 Therefore did Hebron become the inheritance of Caleb the son of Yephunneh the Kenizzite unto this day; for the cause that he had wholly followed the Lord the God of Israel.
De aceea, Hebronul a ajuns moștenirea lui Caleb, fiul lui Iefune chenezitul, până în ziua aceasta, pentru că a urmat pe deplin pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel.
15 And the name of Hebron was aforetimes Kiryatharba', who was the greatest man among the 'Anakim. And the land had rest from war.
Și numele Hebronului era mai înainte Chiriat-Arba; Arba era un om mare printre anachimi. Și țara s-a odihnit de război.
