Joshua 14

1 And these are the countries which the children of Israel obtained as an inheritance in the land of Canaan, which Elazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the divisions of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for an inheritance unto them,

Kaj jen estas, kion la Izraelidoj ekposedis en la lando Kanaana, kaj kion posedigis al ili la pastro Eleazar, kaj Josuo, filo de Nun, kaj la familiestroj de la triboj de Izrael.

2 By the lot as their inheritance: as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and the half tribe.

Laŭ loto ili donis posedaĵon, kiel ordonis la Eternulo per Moseo, al la naŭ triboj kaj duono.

3 For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half tribe on the other side of the Jordan; but unto the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.

Ĉar Moseo donis al du triboj kaj duono posedaĵon transe de Jordan; kaj al la Levidoj li ne donis posedaĵon inter ili;

4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Menasseh and Ephraim; therefore they gave no portion unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their open spaces for their cattle and for their substance.

ĉar la idoj de Jozef estis du triboj, Manase kaj Efraim; kaj al la Levidoj oni ne donis parton en la lando, sed nur urbojn por loĝado, kune kun iliaj antaŭurboj por iliaj brutoj kaj por ilia havo.

5 As the Lord had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel, and so divided they the land.

Kiel la Eternulo ordonis al Moseo, tiel faris la Izraelidoj kaj dividis la teron.

6 And the children of Judah came near unto Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Yephunneh the Kenizzite said unto him, Thou well knowest the word which the Lord spoke unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thyself in Kadesh-barnea'.

Kaj aliris la idoj de Jehuda al Josuo en Gilgal, kaj diris al li Kaleb, filo de Jefune, Kenizido: Vi scias tion, kion la Eternulo diris al Moseo, la homo de Dio, pri mi kaj pri vi en Kadeŝ-Barnea.

7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea' to spy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.

Mi havis la aĝon de kvardek jaroj, kiam Moseo, servanto de la Eternulo, sendis min el Kadeŝ-Barnea, por esplorrigardi la landon; kaj mi alportis al li raporton laŭ mia konscienco.

8 But my brethren who had gone up with me caused the heart of the people to be faint; but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

Kaj miaj fratoj, kiuj iris kun mi, malkuraĝigis la koron de la popolo; sed mi obeis la Eternulon, mian Dion.

9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy foot hath trodden shall belong to thee for an inheritance, and to thy children for ever; because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.

Kaj Moseo ĵuris en tiu tago, dirante: La tero, sur kiu paŝis via piedo, estos posedaĵo por vi kaj por viaj filoj eterne, ĉar vi obeis la Eternulon, mian Dion.

10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he hath spoken: it is now forty and five years since the Lord spoke this word unto Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty and five years old.

Kaj nun jen la Eternulo konservis min viva, kiel Li diris. Nun pasis kvardek kvin jaroj de tiu tempo, kiam la Eternulo diris tion al Moseo, dum Izrael iradis en la dezerto; kaj nun jen mi havas la aĝon de okdek kvin jaroj.

11 I am yet this day as strong as I was on the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, and to go out, and to come in.

Ankoraŭ hodiaŭ mi estas tiel forta, kiel en la tago, kiam Moseo min sendis; kiom da forto mi tiam havis, tiom mi nun havas por la milito, por eliri kaj eniri.

12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spoke on that day; for thou didst hear on that day that the 'Anakim were there, and great fortified cities: perhaps the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as the Lord hath spoken.

Donu do al mi nun ĉi tiun monton, pri kiu la Eternulo parolis en tiu tago; ĉar vi aŭdis en tiu tago, ke tie estas Anakidoj kaj grandaj kaj fortikigitaj urboj; eble la Eternulo estos kun mi kaj mi forpelos ilin, kiel diris la Eternulo.

13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron unto Caleb the son of Yephunneh for an inheritance.

Tiam Josuo benis lin, kaj donis Ĥebronon al Kaleb, filo de Jefune, kiel posedaĵon.

14 Therefore did Hebron become the inheritance of Caleb the son of Yephunneh the Kenizzite unto this day; for the cause that he had wholly followed the Lord the God of Israel.

Tial Ĥebron fariĝis posedaĵo de Kaleb, filo de Jefune, la Kenizido, ĝis la nuna tago; pro tio, ke li obeis la Eternulon, Dion de Izrael.

15 And the name of Hebron was aforetimes Kiryatharba', who was the greatest man among the 'Anakim. And the land had rest from war.

Kaj la nomo de Ĥebron antaŭe estis urbo de Arba, granda homo inter la Anakidoj. Kaj la tero trankviliĝis de milito.
