Joshua 13
1 Now Joshua was old, well stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old, stricken in years, and of the land there remaineth yet very much to be taken possession of.
Or Giosuè era vecchio, ben avanti negli anni; e l’Eterno gli disse: “Tu sei vecchio, bene avanti negli anni, e rimane ancora una grandissima parte del paese da conquistare.
2 This is the land that yet remaineth: All the circles of the Philistines, and all [the land of the] Geshurites,
Ecco quel che rimane: tutti i distretti dei Filistei e tutto il territorio dei Ghesuriti,
3 From the Shichor, which runneth before Egypt, even unto the boundary of 'Ekron northward, is counted to the Canaanites; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazzathites, and the Ashdodites, the Eshkelonites, the Gittites, and the 'Ekronites; also the 'Avvim;
dallo Scihor che scorre a oriente dell’Egitto, sino al confine di Ekron a settentrione: regione, che va ritenuta come cananea e che appartiene ai cinque principi dei Filistei: a quello di Gaza, a quello di Asdod, a quello di Askalon, a quello di Gath, a quello di Ekron, e anche agli Avvei, a mezzogiorno;
4 On the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Me'arah that belongeth to the Zidonians, up to Aphek, up to the border of the Emorites;
tutto il paese dei Cananei, e Meara che è dei Sidoni, sino ad Afek, sino al confine degli Amorei;
5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the rising of the sun, from Ba'al-gad under mount Chermon up to the entrance of Chamath.
il paese dei Ghibliti e tutto il Libano verso il levante, da Baal-Gad, appiè del monte Hermon, sino all’ingresso di Hamath;
6 All the inhabitants of the mountain from Lebanon unto Missrephoth-mayim, all the Zidonians: these will I drive out from before the children of Israel; only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
tutti gli abitanti della contrada montuosa dal Libano fino a Misrefoth-Maim, tutti i Sidoni. Io li caccerò d’innanzi ai figliuoli d’Israele; e tu spartisci pure a sorte l’eredità di questo paese fra gl’Israeliti, nel modo che t’ho comandato.
7 And now divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Menasseh.
Or dunque spartisci l’eredità di questo paese fra nove tribù e la mezza tribù di Manasse”.
8 With him the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave unto them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord hath given them;
I Rubeniti e i Gaditi, con l’altra metà della tribù di Manasse, hanno ricevuto la loro eredità, che Mosè, servo del l’Eterno, diede loro di là dal Giordano, a oriente:
9 From 'Aro'er, that is upon the bank of the brook Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba up to Dibon;
da Aroer sull’orlo della valle d’Arnon, e dalla città ch’è in mezzo alla valle, tutto l’altipiano di Medeba fino a Dibon;
10 And all the cities of Sichon the king of the Emorites, who reigned over Cheshbon, up to the border of the children of 'Ammon;
tutte le città di Sihon re degli Amorei, che regnava a Heshbon, sino al confine de’ figliuoli di Ammon;
11 And Gil'ad, and the territory of the Geshurites and Ma'achathites, and all mount Chermon, and all Bashan up to Salchah;
Galaad, il territorio dei Ghesuriti e dei Maacatiti, tutto il monte Hermon e tutto Basan fino a Salca;
12 All the kingdom of 'Og in Bashan, who reigned in 'Ashtaroth and in Edre'i; who had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; and Moses smote them, and cast them out.
tutto il regno di Og, in Basan, che regnava a Astaroth e a Edrei, ultimo superstite dei Refaim. Mosè sconfisse questi re e li cacciò.
13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites and the Ma'achathites; but the Geshurites and the Ma'achathites continued to dwell in the midst of the Israelites until this day.
Ma i figliuoli d’Israele non cacciarono i Ghesuriti e i Maacatiti; e Ghesur e Maacath abitano in mezzo a Israele fino al dì d’oggi.
14 Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance: the fire-offerings of the Lord, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.
Solo alla tribù di Levi Mosè non dette alcuna eredità; i sacrifizi offerti mediante il fuoco all’Eterno, all’Iddio d’Israele, sono la sua eredità, com’egli disse.
15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families;
Mosè dunque diede alla tribù dei figliuoli di Ruben la loro parte, secondo le loro famiglie;
16 And their territory was from 'Aro'er, that is on the bank of the brook Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba;
essi ebbero per territorio, partendo da Aroer sull’orlo della valle dell’Arnon, e dalla città ch’è in mezzo alla valle, tutto l’altipiano presso Medeba,
17 Cheshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamoth-ba'al, and Beth-ba'al-me'on,
Heshbon e tutte le sue città che sono sull’altipiano: Dibon, Bamoth-Baal, Beth-Baal-Meon,
18 And Yahzah, and Kedemoth, and Mepha'ath,
Iahats, Kedemoth, Mefaath,
19 And Kiryathayim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-hashachar on the mount of the valley,
Kiriataim, Sibma, Tsereth-Hashahar sul monte della valle,
20 And Beth-pe'or, and the declivities of Pisgah, and Beth-hayeshimoth,
Beth-Peor, le pendici del Pisga e Beth-Iescimoth;
21 And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sichon the king of the Emorites, who reigned in Cheshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Chur, and Reba', the dukes of Sichon, the dwellers of the country.
tutte le città dell’altipiano, tutto il regno di Sihon, re degli Amorei che regnava a Heshbon, quello che Mosè sconfisse coi principi di Madian, Evi, Rekem, Tsur, Hur e Reba, principi vassalli di Sihon, che abitavano il paese.
22 And Bil'am the son of Be'or, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among their slain.
I figliuoli d’Israele fecer morir di spada anche Balaam, figliuolo di Beor, l’indovino, insieme con gli altri che uccisero.
23 And the boundary of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and its bordering territory. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and their villages.
Al territorio dei figliuoli di Ruben serviva di confine il Giordano. Tale fu l’eredità de’ figliuoli di Ruben secondo le loro famiglie: con le città ed i villaggi annessi.
24 And Moses gave unto the tribe of Gad, unto the children of Gad according to their families;
Mosè dette pure alla tribù di Gad, ai figliuoli di Gad, la loro parte, secondo le loro famiglie.
25 And their territory was Ya'zer, and all the cities of Gil'ad, and half the land of the children of 'Ammon, up to 'Aro'er that is before Rabbah;
Essi ebbero per territorio Iaezer, tutte le città di Galaad, la metà del paese dei figliuoli di Ammon fino ad Aroer che è dirimpetto a Rabba,
26 And from Cheshbon unto Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Machanayim up to the border of Debir;
da Heshbon fino a Ramath-Mitspè e Betonim, da Mahanaim sino al confine di Debir,
27 And in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sichon the king of Cheshbon, the Jordan and its bordering territory, up to the edge of the sea of Kinnereth on the other side of the Jordan eastward.
e, nella valle, Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimra, Succoth e Tsafon, residuo del regno di Sihon re di Heshbon, avendo il Giordano per confine sino all’estremità del mare di Kinnereth, di là dal Giordano, a oriente.
28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities and their villages.
Tale fu l’eredità dei figliuoli di Gad, secondo le loro famiglie, con le città e i villaggi annessi.
29 And Moses gave unto the half tribe of Menasseh; and it belonged to the half tribe of the children of Menasseh after their families;
Mosè diede pure alla mezza tribù di Manasse, ai figliuoli di Manasse, la loro parte, secondo le loro famiglie.
30 And their territory was from Machanayim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of 'Og the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Ya'ir, which are in Bashan, sixty cities;
Il loro territorio comprendeva, da Mahanaim, tutto Basan, tutto il regno di Og re di Basan, tutti i borghi di Iair in Basan, in tutto, sessanta terre.
31 And half Gil'ad and 'Ashtaroth, and Edre'i, the cities of the kingdom of 'Og in Bashan, [belonged] unto the children of Machir the son of Menasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir after their families.
La metà di Galaad, Astaroth e Edrei, città del regno di Og in Basan, toccarono ai figliuoli di Makir, figliuolo di Manasse, alla metà de’ figliuoli di Makir, secondo le loro famiglie.
32 These are they to whom Moses did distribute an inheritance in the plans of Moab, on the other side of the Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.
Tali sono le parti che Mosè fece quand’era nelle pianure di Moab, di là dal Giordano, dirimpetto a Gerico, a oriente.
33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord the God of Israel is himself their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.
Ma alla tribù di Levi Mosè non dette alcuna eredità: l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele, è la sua eredità, com’ei le disse.
