1 And these are the kings of the land whom the children of Israel smote, and whose land they took possession of on the other side of the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Chermon, and all the plain on the east:

Suivent les rois du pays vaincus par les enfants d'Israël qui conquirent leur pays au delà du Jourdain du côté du soleil levant depuis la rivière d'Arnon jusqu'au mont Hermon, et toute la plaine orientale:

2 Sichon the king of the Emorites, who dwelt in Cheshbon, and ruled from 'Aro'er, which is upon the bank of the brook Arnon, and over the land in the middle of the brook, and from half Gil'ad, even unto the brook Yabbok, the boundary of the children of 'Ammon;

Sihon, Roi des Amoréens résidant à Hesbon, dont l'autorité s'étendait depuis Aroër sur les bords de l'Arnon à partir du milieu du ravin et sur la moitié de Galaad jusqu'à la rivière de Jabboc, frontière des Ammonites,

3 And over the plain up to the sea of Kinneroth on the east, and up to the sea of the plain, the salt sea on the east, on the way to Beth-hayeshimoth; and at the south, under the declivities of Pisgah;

et sur la partie orientale de la plaine d'un côté jusqu'au lac de Kinnéroth, de l'autre jusqu'à la Mer de la plaine, la Mer Salée à l'orient vers Beth-Jesimoth, et au midi au pied des versants du Pisga.

4 And the territory of 'Og the king of Bashan, who was of the remnant of the Rephaim, that dwelt at 'Ashtaroth and at Edre'i,

[Ils conquirent] aussi les États de Og, Roi de Basan, l'un des restes des Rephaïms, qui résidait à Astaroth et à Edreï.

5 And reigned over mount Chermon, and over Salchah, and over all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Ma'achathites, and half Gil'ad, [to] the boundary of Sichon the king of Cheshbon.

Et il avait sous sa domination la chaîne de l'Hermon et Salcha et tout Basan jusqu'à la frontière des Gessurites et des Maachatites, et la moitié de Galaad jusqu'aux confins de Sinon, Roi de Hesbon.

6 These did Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel smite; and Moses the servant of the Lord gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh.

Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, et les enfants d'Israël les défirent, et Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, donna cette contrée en propriété aux Rubénites et aux Gadites et à la demi-Tribu de Manassé.

7 And these are the kings of the country whom Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side of the Jordan on the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon as far as the bald mountain, that goeth up to Seir; and Joshua gave it unto the tribes of Israel for a possession, according to their divisions;

Suivent les rois du pays vaincus par Josué et les enfants d'Israël en deçà du Jourdain à l'occident depuis Baal-Gad dans la vallée du Liban jusqu'à la croupe nue qui monte vers Séir. Et Josué donna cette contrée aux Tribus d'Israël en propriété d'après leurs divisions,

8 In the mountains, and in the lowlands, and in the plain, and in the declivities, and in the wilderness, and in the south country: the Hittites, the Emorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

et la Montagne et le Pays-bas et la Plaine et les versants et le Désert et le Midi, les pays des Héthiens, des Amoréens et des Cananéens et des Périzzites, des Hévites et des Jébusites.

9 The king of Jericho, one; the king of 'Ai, which was beside Bethel one;

Le Roi de Jéricho, un; le Roi d'Aï à côté de Béthel, un;

10 The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;

le Roi de Jérusalem, un; le Roi de Hébron, un;

11 The king of Yarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;

le Roi de Jarmuth, un; le Roi de Lachis, un;

12 The king of 'Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;

le Roi de Eglon, un; le Roi de Gézer, un;

13 The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;

le Roi de Debir, un; le Roi de Géder, un;

14 The king of Chormah, one; the king of 'Arad, one;
