Jonah 2
1 Then prayed Jonah unto the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.
Entonces Jonás oró al Señor su Dios desde el vientre del pez.
2 And he said, I called from the midst of my distress unto the Lord, and he hath answered me: out of the depth of the grave have I cried, and thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
Comenzó así: “En mi agonía clamé al Señor y él me respondió. Desde las profundidades del Seol supliqué por ayuda, y tú me respondiste. (Sheol h7585)
3 For thou hast cast me into the deep, in the heart of the seas; and the stream compasseth me about: all thy billows and thy waves have passed over me.
Me lanzaste a lo profundo, al fondo del mar. El agua me cubrió por complete, y tus olas poderosas rodaban sobre me.
4 And I thought indeed, I am driven out from before thy eyes: yet I again shall look toward thy holy temple.
Y me dije a mi mismo: ‘El Señor me ha expulsado de su presencia. ¿Podré ver tu santo Templo otra vez?’
5 The waters surrounded me, to the peril of my life; the deep compassed me about: sea-weeds were bound about my head.
El agua formó un torbellino sobre mi y no podría respirar. Las profundidades me arrastraban, y las algas se enredaban en mi cabeza.
6 To the bottoms of the mountains did I go down; the earth [closed] her bars about me for ever: when thou broughtest up my life from the pit, O Lord my God!
Me hundí hasta la base de las montañas; la tierra me cerró sus puertas para siempre. Pero tu, mi Señor, mi Dios, me sacaste del abismo.
7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came unto thee, unto thy holy temple.
“Mientras mi vida se desvanecía, me acordé del Señor, y mi oración llegó a tu santo Templo.
8 They that guard false vanities forsake [the source of] their kindness.
Los que adoran a los ídolos vanos, renuncian a su confianza en la bondad de Dios.
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; that which I have vowed will I pay; [for] help is with the Lord.
Pero yo te ofreceré sacrificios, y gritaré mi gratitud. Guardaré las promesas que te he hecho, porque la salvación viene del Señor”.
10 And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Entonces el Señor mandó al pez a que vomitara a Jonás en la orilla.
