Job 9
1 Then answered Job, and said,
അപ്പോൾ ഇയ്യോബ് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു:
2 Truly I know that it is so: and how could a mortal be righteous before God?
“അതേ, ഇതെല്ലാം സത്യമാണെന്ന് എനിക്കറിയാം; എങ്ങനെയാണ് നശ്വരനായ മനുഷ്യൻ ദൈവമുമ്പാകെ നീതിമാനാകുന്നത്?
3 If he were desirous to enter into a contest with him, he could not give him one answer out of a thousand.
അവർ അവിടത്തോടു വാദത്തിനു തുനിയുകയാണെങ്കിൽ, അവിടന്ന് ഉന്നയിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ആയിരത്തിൽ ഒന്നിനുപോലും മറുപടിനൽകാൻ അവർക്കു സാധ്യമല്ലല്ലോ.
4 He is wise of heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and escaped unscathed?
അവിടത്തെ ജ്ഞാനം അപ്രമേയവും അവിടത്തെ ശക്തി അതുല്യവുമാണ്. അവിടത്തോട് പ്രതിയോഗിയായിട്ട് ഹാനി ഭവിക്കാതെ പിൻവാങ്ങുന്നവർ ആരാണ്?
5 [He it is] who removeth mountains, and they know it not, yea, when he overturneth them in his anger;
അവിടന്ന് പർവതങ്ങളെ ഒരുമുന്നറിയിപ്പും കൂടാതെ നീക്കിക്കളയുകയും അവിടത്തെ കോപത്തിൽ അവിടന്ന് അവയെ മറിച്ചിടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
6 Who shaketh the earth loose out of her place, that her pillars tremble;
അവിടന്ന് ഭൂമിയെ അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്ന് ഇളക്കുകയും അതിന്റെ തൂണുകൾ പ്രകമ്പനംകൊള്ളുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.
7 Who speaketh to the sun, and he shineth not, and around the stars he placeth a seal;
സൂര്യനോട്, അതു പ്രകാശിക്കേണ്ടാ എന്ന് അവിടന്ന് ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്നു നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളുടെ പ്രഭയെ അടച്ചു മുദ്രവെക്കുന്നു.
8 Who spread out the heavens by himself alone, and treadeth upon the hillocks of the sea;
അവിടന്നുതന്നെയാണ് ആകാശത്തെ വിരിക്കുന്നതും സമുദ്രത്തിലെ തിരമാലകളെ ചവിട്ടിമെതിക്കുന്നതും.
9 Who made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers the south;
അവിടന്നു സപ്തർഷികൾ, മകയിരം, കാർത്തിക എന്നീ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും ദക്ഷിണദിക്കിലെ നക്ഷത്രവ്യൂഹത്തെയും നിർമിക്കുന്നു.
10 Who doth great things which are quite unsearchable, and wonders which are quite without number.
അവിടന്ന് അപ്രമേയമായ വൻകാര്യങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; എണ്ണമറ്റ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അവിടത്തെ കരങ്ങൾ നിർവഹിക്കുന്നു.
11 Lo, were he to go past by me, I should not see him; and were he to pass along, I should not perceive him.
അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ അരികത്തു വരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ എനിക്കു കാണാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല; അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ ചാരത്തുകൂടി നീങ്ങുന്നു, എന്നാൽ എനിക്കു ദർശിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല.
12 Behold, were he to snatch aught away, who could hold him back? who would say unto him, What dost thou?
അവിടന്നു പിടിച്ചെടുത്താൽ തടയാൻ ആർക്കു കഴിയും? ‘അങ്ങ് എന്താണീ ചെയ്യുന്നത്,’ എന്നു ചോദിക്കാൻ ആർക്കു കഴിയും?
13 God will not withdraw his anger: beneath him sink down the helpers of the proud.
ദൈവം തന്റെ ക്രോധം നിയന്ത്രണവിധേയമാക്കുന്നില്ല. രഹബിന്റെ അനുയായികൾ അവിടത്തേക്ക് കീഴടങ്ങുന്നു.
14 How much less then could I answer him, and select my words [to contend] with him?
“ആ സ്ഥിതിക്ക് ഞാൻ അവിടത്തോട് വാദപ്രതിവാദം ചെയ്യുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? അവിടത്തോടു തർക്കിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ എവിടെനിന്നു വാക്കുകൾ കണ്ടെത്തും?
15 Whom, were I even righteous, I could not answer? to him that condemneth me I could [only] make supplication.
ഞാൻ നിർദോഷി ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽപോലും എനിക്കു മറുപടി പറയാൻ സാധ്യമല്ല; എന്റെ ന്യായാധിപനോട് കരുണയ്ക്കായി യാചിക്കുകമാത്രമേ എനിക്കു കഴിയൂ.
16 Or were I to call, and he would answer me, I could yet not believe that he would give ear unto my voice—
ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ട് അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ ആവലാതി കേട്ടു, എങ്കിൽപോലും അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ സങ്കടയാചനകൾ കേൾക്കുമെന്നു ഞാൻ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല.
17 He that bruiseth me with [his] tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without a cause.
കാരണം, കൊടുങ്കാറ്റുകൊണ്ട് അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ ഞെരുക്കുകയും അകാരണമായി എന്റെ മുറിവുകൾ വർധിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
18 He suffereth me not to recover my breath; but feedeth me overmuch with bitter things.
ശ്വാസം കഴിക്കാൻ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ അനുവദിക്കാതെ ദുരിതംകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ ഉള്ളം നിറയ്ക്കുന്നു.
19 If it regard strength, lo, he is the powerful; and if justice, who will cite him for me to appear?
ശക്തിയുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ, അവിടന്നു ബലവാൻതന്നെ! ന്യായവാദത്തിന്റെ കാര്യമാണെങ്കിൽ, അതിനായി ആര് അവിടത്തെ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തും?
20 If I were righteous even, my own mouth would condemn me: were I innocent, it would still prove me perverse.
ഞാൻ നിരപരാധി ആയിരുന്നാലും, എന്റെ വായ് എന്നെ കുറ്റംവിധിക്കും. ഞാൻ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായാലും, അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ കുറ്റക്കാരനായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കും.
21 I am innocent; I will not have regard for myself: I will despise my life.
“ഞാൻ നിഷ്കളങ്കൻ ആണെങ്കിലും, അത് എന്നെ ബാധിക്കുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തെ ഞാൻ വെറുക്കുന്നു.
22 One thing is [certain], therefore have I said it, The innocent and the wicked he bringeth to their end.
അതെല്ലാം ഒരുപോലെതന്നെ; അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു, ‘അവിടന്നു നിഷ്കളങ്കനെയും ദുഷ്ടനെയും നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.’
23 If a scourge should slay suddenly, he will mock at the trial of the guiltless.
കഠിനപ്രഹരം പെട്ടെന്നു മരണം വരുത്തുന്നു, അവിടന്നു നിരപരാധിയുടെ ദുർഗതിയെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.
24 Is a land given up into the hand of the wicked? he covereth the faces of its judges: if this be not the truth, who is it then?
ഭൂമി അധർമികളുടെ കൈയിൽ അകപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ, ന്യായാധിപരുടെ കണ്ണ് അവിടന്നു കുരുടാക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ചെയ്തത് അവിടന്നല്ലെങ്കിൽ പിന്നെ ആരാണ്?
25 And my days pass swifter than a runner: they flee away, they see no happiness,
“എന്റെ ആയുസ്സ് ഒരു ഓട്ടക്കാരനെക്കാൾ വേഗത്തിൽ പായുന്നു; ആനന്ദത്തിന്റെ ഒരു കണികപോലും കാണാതെ അതു പറന്നുപോകുന്നു.
26 They hasten along like pirate ships: like the eagle that stoopeth down upon his food.
ഞാങ്ങണകൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയ വള്ളംപോലെ ഓളപ്പരപ്പിൽ തെന്നിമാറുന്നു, ഇര റാഞ്ചുന്ന കഴുകനെപ്പോലെയും അതു കടന്നുപോകുന്നു.
27 If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my sorrowful countenance, and recover my cheerfulness:
‘എന്റെ ആവലാതി ഞാൻ മറക്കാം, എന്റെ വ്യസനഭാവം ഞാൻ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു പുഞ്ചിരിതൂകാം,’ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞാലും,
28 O then would I be in dread of all my pains; I know that thou wilt not declare me innocent.
ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോഴും എന്റെ വേദനകളെല്ലാം ഭയപ്പാടോടെ കാണുന്നു, അങ്ങ് എന്നെ നിരപരാധിയായി വിട്ടയയ്ക്കുകയില്ലെന്ന് എനിക്കറിയാം.
29 I must ever be guilty: why then should I fatigue myself for nought?
ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ കുറ്റാരോപിതനായി എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ എന്തിനു വ്യർഥമായി പ്രയത്നിക്കുന്നു?
30 If I were to wash myself in snow-water, to cleanse myself in the purity of my hands:
ഞാൻ ഹിമംകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ കഴുകിയാലും ക്ഷാരജലംകൊണ്ടു കൈകൾ വെടിപ്പാക്കിയാലും,
31 Even then wouldst thou plunge me in the ditch, that my own clothes would render me abhorred.
അങ്ങ് എന്നെ ചെളിക്കുണ്ടിലേക്കു ചവിട്ടിത്താഴ്ത്തും, അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾപോലും എന്നെ വെറുക്കുന്നു.
32 For he is not a man, like me, that I could answer him, that we should enter together into a contest.
“അവിടത്തോടു ഞാൻ ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിനും ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ചു ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിൽ ഏറ്റുമുട്ടുന്നതിനും അവിടന്ന് എന്നെപ്പോലെ കേവലം മനുഷ്യനല്ലല്ലോ.
33 There is no one who can decide between us, who could lay his hand upon us both.
ഞങ്ങൾ ഇരുവരെയും അനുരഞ്ജിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മധ്യസ്ഥൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കുമധ്യേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ,
34 Let him but remove from me his rod, and let not his dread terrify me:
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വടി എന്നിൽനിന്നു നീക്കട്ടെ, അവിടത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഭീതി എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്താതിരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.
35 Then would I speak, and not fear him; for the like I feel not within me.
അപ്പോൾ ഭീതികൂടാതെ ഞാൻ അവിടത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കും, എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ അതിനു യാതൊരു നിർവാഹവുമില്ല.
