Job 5
1 Do but call: is there one that will answer thee? and to whom of the saints wilt thou turn thyself?
Pagtawag karon; aduna bay motubag kanimo? Kinsa man sa mga balaan ang imong kaadtoan?
2 For vexation will prove death to a foolish man, and jealousy will slay the simple.
Kay ang kasuko mopatay sa tawong buangbuang; ang kasina molaglag sa tawong pahong.
3 I have myself seen the foolish taking root; but I suddenly held his habitation as accursed.
Nakita ko ang tawong buangbuang nga nakagamot na, apan gitunglo ko dayon ang iyang puluy-anan.
4 His children are far from help, and men crush them in the gate, with no one to deliver them.
Layo sa kaluwasan ang iyang kaanakan; nangadugmok sila diha sa ganghaan sa siyudad. Walay bisan usa ang magaluwas kanila—
5 [He it is] whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber snatcheth eagerly after their substance.
kadtong alanihon gipangaon sa uban nga gipanggutom, bisan sa katunokan pagakuhaon kini sa katawhan; kadtong katigayonan gihurot sa katawhan nga giuhaw niini.
6 For wrong doth not come forth out of the dust, neither doth trouble grow up out of the ground;
Kay ang kalisdanan dili motubo gikan sa yuta; ni ang kasamok moturok sa yuta;
7 But man is born unto trouble, as young birds take up their flight.
Apan ang tawo mao ang naghimo sa iyang kaugalingong kalisdanan, sama sa agipo nga milupad paitaas.
8 I, however, would have besought God, and unto God would I have committed my cause;
Apan alang kanako, mobalik ako sa Dios; didto kaniya itugyan ko ang akong mga tuyo—
9 Who doth great things which are unsearchable, marvelous things till they are without number;
kaniya nga nagbuhat sa dagko ug dili matukib nga mga butang, kahibulongang mga butang nga dili maihap.
10 Who giveth rain upon the surface of the earth, and sendeth out waters over the face of the fields;
Naghatag siya ug ulan sa yuta, ug nagpadalag tubig sa kaumahan.
11 To set up the lowly on high, that those who mourn may rise high to happiness;
Gibuhat niya kini aron ipahimutang sa hataas kadtong anaa sa ubos; aron igabayaw sa kaluwasan kadtong nagbangotan sa abo.
12 [But] who frustrateth the plans of the crafty, so that their hands cannot execute their well-devised counsel;
Gisumpo niya ang mga laraw sa malimbongong mga tawo, aron nga ang ilang mga kamot dili makahimo sa ilang bulohaton.
13 Who catcheth the wise in their own craftiness; and the advise of the perverse is hastened on headlong;
Gilit-ag niya ang malimbongong mga tawo sa ilang kaugalingong pagkamalimbongon; ang mga laraw sa mga tawong hanas mapakyas sa dili madugay.
14 By day they meet with darkness, and as though it were night they grope about in the noon of day;
Masagubang nila ang kangitngit panahon sa adlaw, ug masukarap sa kaudtohon ingon nga kini gabii.
15 But who saveth from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty, the needy one:
Apan iyang giluwas ang kabos nga tawo gikan sa espada sa ilang mga baba ug ang nanginahanglan nga mga tawo gikan sa kamot sa gamhanang mga tawo.
16 And so cometh to the indigent hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
Busa may paglaom ang kabos nga tawo, ug ang dili makataronganon magatak-om sa iyang baba.
17 Behold, happy is the man whom God admonisheth: despise then not the correction of the Almighty.
Tan-awa, pagkamalipayon sa tawo nga pagabadlongon sa Dios; busa, ayaw pagbiaybiay sa mga kastigo sa Makagagahom.
18 For he it is that woundeth, and bindeth up: he smiteth, and his hands do heal.
Kay siya ang magasamad ug unya pagabugkosan; siya magasakit ug unya ang iyang mga kamot magaayo.
19 In six distresses will he deliver thee; and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
Siya ang magaluwas kanimo sa unom ka kasamok; bisan paman, sa pito ka kasamok, ang daotan dili makadapat kanimo.
20 In famine he redeemeth thee from death; and in war from the power of the sword.
Sa tinggutom magaluwas siya kanimo gikan sa kamatayon; ug sa gubat gikan sa mga kamot niadtong migamit sa espada.
21 Against the scourge of the tongue shall thou he hidden; and thou needest not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
Pagatagoan ka gikan sa hampak sa dila; ug dili ka mahadlok sa kalaglagan nga modangat.
22 At destruction and famine canst thou laugh; and thou needest not have any fear of the beasts of the earth.
Pagakataw-an mo ang paglaglag ug tinggutom, ug dili ka mahadlok sa mga ihalas nga mga mananap.
23 For with the stones of the field shalt thou have thy covenant; and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
Kay aduna kay kasabotan uban sa mga bato sa imong kapatagan; aduna kay kalinaw kauban ang ihalas nga mga mananap.
24 And thou shalt know that there is peace in thy tent; and thou wilt look over thy habitation, and shalt miss nothing.
Masayod ka nga ang imong tolda anaa sa luwas; moduaw ka sa imong kahayopan ug walay nawala niini.
25 And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thy offspring as the herbage of the earth.
Masayod ka usab nga ang imong kaliwat modaghan, nga ang imong mga kaliwatan mahisama sa sagbot sa yuta.
26 Thon wilt go in a ripe age unto the grave, as a shock of corn is carried home in its season.
Moadto ka sa imong lubnganan sa hingkod nga panuigon, sama sa usa ka tapok sa mga binugkosang trigo nga gidala didto sa giokanan.
27 Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is: hear it, and do thou note it well for thyself.
Tan-awa, gisusi ta kining butanga; sama kini niini; patalinghugi kini, ug sayri alang sa imong kaugalingon.”
