< Job 40 >

1 And the Lord addressed Job, and said,
Yehowa gblɔ na Hiob be,
2 Will he that contendeth with the Almighty yet find fault? him that reproveth God answer this.
“Ɖe ame si le nya hem kple Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la aɖɔe ɖoa? Ame si tsɔ nya ɖe Mawu ŋu la neɖo eŋu nɛ!”
3 Then answered Job the Lord, and said,
Tete Hiob ɖo eŋu na Yehowa be,
4 Behold, I am too vile: what shall I answer thee? my hand do I place on my mouth.
“Aleke nye ame si medze o la maɖo nya ŋu na wòe? Metsɔ nye asi ɖo nye nu.
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will not repeat it again.
Meƒo nu zi ɖeka gake nyemekpɔ ŋuɖoɖo o; meƒo nu zi evelia eya ta nyemagaƒo nu o.”
6 Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the storm-wind, and said,
Tete Yehowa ƒo nu na Hiob tso ahom me be,
7 Do but gird up like a mighty man thy loins: I will ask thee, and do thou inform me.
“Bla ali dzi abe ŋutsu ene, mabia nya wò eye nàɖo eŋu nam.
8 Wilt thou indeed annul my decree? wilt thou condemn me, in order that thou mayest appear righteous?
“Ɖe nàdo vlo nye afiatsotsoa? Ɖe nàbu fɔm, atso na ɖokuiwòa?
9 But if thou hast an arm like God, or if thou canst thunder loudly like him:
Ɖe wò abɔ le abe Mawu tɔ ene eye wò gbe ate ŋu ablu abe etɔ enea?
10 Then do deck thyself with excellence and greatness, and clothe thyself in majesty and glory.
Ekema tsɔ ŋutikɔkɔe kple atsyɔ̃ ɖɔ na ɖokuiwò eye nàtsɔ bubu kple gãnyenye ado na ɖokuiwò.
11 Scatter abroad the ragings of thy wrath, and look on every proud one, and humble him.
Trɔ wò dɔmedzoe ƒe nuwɔwɔ kɔ ɖi bababa, nye kɔ kpɔ dadala ɖe sia ɖe eye nàhee aƒu anyi.
12 Look on every proud one, and bend him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Nye kɔ kpɔ dadala ɖe sia ɖe ne nàbɔbɔe ɖe anyi eye nàgbã ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ɖe afi si wole.
13 Hide them in the dust altogether: bind up their faces in concealment.
Ɖi wo katã ɖe ke me eye nàɣla woƒe mo ɖe yɔdo me.
14 Then will I also myself praise thee, when thy own right hand hath helped thee.
Ekema nye ŋutɔ maʋu eme na wò be, wò ŋutɔ wò ɖusibɔ axɔ na wò.
15 Only behold Behemoth, which I made near thee: grass he eateth like the ox.
“Kpɔ atiglinyi si mewɔ kpe ɖe ŋutiwò la ɖa, eɖua gbe abe nyi ene.
16 Only see, [how great] is his strength in his loins, and his force, in the muscles of his belly.
Eƒe ŋusẽ le alime nɛ eye ŋusẽ kae nya gã si le eƒe ƒodo ƒe lãmekawo me!
17 He stretcheth out his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his loins are closely wrapped together.
Eƒe asike le nyenyem abe sedati ene, eƒe atagbomekawo ge ɖe wo nɔewo me.
18 His bones are like pipes of brass: his frame is like bars of iron.
Eƒe ƒuwo le abe akɔbliga si me do le la ene eye eƒe afɔtiwo le abe gakpo ene.
19 He is the first in rank of the works of God: he that made him can alone bring his sword near unto him.
Eyae nye gbãtɔ le Mawu ƒe nuwɔwɔwo dome gake Ewɔla ate ŋu azɔ ɖe edzi kple yi.
20 But truly the mountains bear for him his food, and all the beasts of the field play there.
Togbɛwo tsɔa woƒe kutsetsewo vɛ nɛ eye gbemelãwo katã fena le egbɔ.
21 Under shady trees he lieth down, in the covert of the reeds, and swamp.
Emlɔa anyi ɖe ati dama te eye wòɣlaa eɖokui ɖe aƒla siwo le sime la me.
22 Shady trees cover him as his shadow: willows of the brook encompass him about.
Atiawo doa vɔvɔli ɖe edzi heɣlanɛ eye keti siwo le tɔʋuwo to la ƒoa xlãe.
23 Behold, a river sweepeth violently along, but he hasteneth not away: he remaineth quiet, though a Jordan rusheth up to his mouth.
Ne tɔwo dze agbo la, dzika metsoa eƒo o eye togbɔ be Yɔdan tɔsisi le ƒoƒom ɖe eƒe nu dzi hã la, eɖea dzi ɖi bɔkɔɔ.
24 Can one catch him before his eyes? pierce his nose by means of snares?—
Ɖe ame aɖe ate ŋu alée kple eƒe ŋku alo aɖo mɔ nɛ, ahaŋɔ eƒe ŋɔtia?
