< Job 36 >

1 Then continued Elihu, and said,
Elihu toaa ne kasa so se,
2 Wait for me a little, and I will instruct thee; for [I have] still some words on God's behalf.
“Montɔ mo bo ase kakra mma me, na mɛkyerɛ mo sɛ aka bebree a ɛsɛ sɛ yɛka ma Onyankopɔn.
3 I will lift up my knowledge for him who is afar, and for my Maker will I obtain righteousness.
Minya me nimdeɛ fi akyirikyiri; mɛka se me Yɛfo bu atɛntrenee.
4 For truly no falsehood is [in] my words: one that is upright in [his] opinions [dealeth now] with thee.
Munnye nto mu sɛ me nsɛm yɛ nokware turodoo; na meyɛ obi a ne nimdeɛ so wɔ mo mu.
5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength of intellect.
“Onyankopɔn so, nanso, ontwiri nnipa; ɔkorɔn na osi pi wɔ ne botae mu.
6 He permitteth not the wicked to live; but he procureth justice for the afflicted.
Ɔmma amumɔyɛfo ntena nkwa mu, na ɔde amanehunufo kyɛfa ma wɔn.
7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous; but [he placeth them] with kings on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
Onnyi nʼani mfi ɔtreneeni so, ɔma wɔne ahemfo di ade na ɔma wɔn so afebɔɔ.
8 And if they be bound in fetters, and if they be entangled in the cords of affliction:
Na sɛ wɔde mpokyerɛ gu nnipa na amanehunu hama akyekyere wɔn papee a,
9 Then doth he tell them of their work, and of their transgressions, when they had become strong.
ɔka nea wɔayɛ kyerɛ wɔn sɛ wɔnam ahantan so ayɛ bɔne.
10 And he openeth thus their ear to correction, and saith that they should return from wrong-doing.
Ɔma wotie nteɛso na ɔhyɛ wɔn sɛ wonnu wɔn ho wɔ wɔn bɔne ho.
11 If they hearken and serve [him], they will spend their days in happiness, and their years in pleasures.
Sɛ wɔyɛ osetie na wɔsom no a, wobedi yiye wɔ wɔn nna a aka no mu na wɔn mfe nyinaa ayɛ anisɔ ama wɔn.
12 But if they hearken not, they will pass away through the sword, and they will perish in want of knowledge.
Na sɛ wɔantie no a, wɔbɛyera wɔ afoa ano, na wɔawuwu a wonni nimdeɛ.
13 But the hypocrites in heart persevere in wrath; they will not offer entreaty when he bindeth them:
“Wɔn a wonnim Nyame no kora abufuw so; mpo sɛ ogu wɔn nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn a wonsu mpɛ mmoa.
14 Their soul will die in youth, and their life, among the incestuous.
Wowuwu wɔ wɔn mmabunmmere mu, wɔ mmarima nguamanfo a wɔtete abosonnan mu.
15 He delivereth the afflicted through his affliction, and openeth through oppression his ear.
Nanso wɔn a wohu amane no, ogye wɔn; na ɔkasa kyerɛ wɔn wɔ wɔn haw mu.
16 And also thee hath he incited away from the jaws of distress into a wide space, on the site of which there is no straitness; and what is set on thy table is full of fatness.
“Ɔregye wo afi ahohia mu de wo akɔ beae a hɔ bae a ahokyere nni, nea wowɔ asomdwoe, na nnuan pa ayɛ wo pon so ma.
17 But if thou art full of the judgment of the wicked: [divine] judgment and decree will support each other.
Nanso mprempren, atemmu a ɛfata amumɔyɛfo na aba wo so; atemmu ne atɛntrenee aso wo mu.
18 For there would be fury, If aught were to incite thee to utter an abundance [of rebellious words]; and the greatness of the infliction must not mislead thee.
Hwɛ yiye na obi amfa ahonya annaadaa wo; mma adanmude kɛse bi ntwe wo.
19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold ore, nor all the highest forces of strength.
Wʼahonya anaasɛ mpo wʼahohia bebrebe nyinaa nti, worenkɔ amanehunu mu ana?
20 Desire then not eagerly the night, when nations pass away in their place.
Mpere anadwo ho, sɛ ammɛpra nnipa mfi wɔn afi mu.
21 Take heed, turn not thyself to wrong-doing, so that thou wouldst choose this because of [thy] affliction.
Hwɛ na woannan ankɔ bɔne ho, nea ayɛ sɛ wopɛ sen amanehunu.
22 Behold, God is exalted by his power: who is an instructer like him?
“Onyankopɔn yɛ ɔkɛse wɔ ne tumi mu. Hena na ɔyɛ ɔkyerɛkyerɛfo sɛ ɔno?
23 Who hath given him a charge concerning his way? or who hath ever said, Thou hast acted unjustly?
Hena na wahyehyɛ nʼakwan ama no anaa waka akyerɛ no se, ‘Woayɛ mfomso.’
24 Reflect, that thou shouldst magnify his work, which [other] men have beheld.
Kae na kamfo nʼadwuma a nnipa de nnwonto akamfo no.
25 All men have looked at it [with astonishment]; the mortal gazeth at it from afar.
Adesamma nyinaa ahu; nnipa fi akyirikyiri hwɛ no haa.
26 Behold, God is great, and we comprehend him not, the number of his years can truly not be searched out.
Onyankopɔn yɛ ɔkɛse, ɛboro yɛn ntease so! Ne mfe dodow mu nni hwehwɛbea.
27 For he taketh away drops of water, which are purified into rain in his mist:
“Ɔtwetwe nsu a ɛsosɔ, ma ɛdan osu gu nsuten mu;
28 These drop down out of the skies; they distil upon the multitude of men.
na omununkum tɔ obosu gu fam na osu pete mmoroso gu adesamma so.
29 But [what man] can understand the outspreadings of the clouds? the tumult of his tabernacle?
Hena na obetumi ate sɛnea ɔtrɛtrɛw omununkum mu no ase, sɛnea ɔbobɔ mu fi ne suhyɛ ase no?
30 Behold, he spreadeth out over it his light, and covereth up the roots of the sea.
Hwɛ sɛnea ɔhwete nʼanyinam mu wɔ ne ho ma ɛkɔ po bun mu.
31 For by means of them he judgeth nations, he giveth food in superfluity.
Eyi ne ɔkwan a ɔfa so di amanaman no so na ɔma aduan bu wɔn so.
32 [His] hands he covereth with light; and he commandeth it to strike the one who striveth against him.
Ɔde anyinam hyɛ ne nsam ma na ɔhyɛ no sɛ ɛmpa nʼagyiraehyɛ.
33 The noise of his storm telleth of it, yea, the cattle also, of the rising tempest.
Nʼaprannaa bɔ ahum a ɛreba no ho nkae; na anantwi mpo ma wohu sɛ ɛreba.
