Job 35

1 Then commenced Elihu, and said,

Además, Eliú respondió,

2 Dost thou deem this to be just, that thou hast said, “My righteousness is more than God's?”

“¿Consideras que es tu derecho, o dices, ‘Mi justicia es más que la de Dios,’

3 For thou sayest, “What benefit will it be unto thee? what more profit shall I have, than if I had sinned?”

que te preguntes: “¿Qué ventaja tendrá para ti? ¿Qué beneficio tendré, más que si hubiera pecado?’

4 I will truly reply unto thee with words, and unto thy friends with thee.

Yo te responderé, y tus compañeros contigo.

5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and gaze on the skies which are higher than thou.

Miren al cielo y vean. Mira los cielos, que están más altos que tú.

6 If thou sin, what dost thou effect against him? and if thy transgressions be multiplied, what canst thou do unto him?

Si has pecado, ¿qué efecto tienes contra él? Si tus transgresiones se multiplican, ¿qué le haces?

7 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what doth he accept out of thy hand?

Si eres justo, ¿qué le das? ¿O qué recibe de su mano?

8 A man like thyself thy wickedness may reach, and a son of earth thy righteousness.

Tu maldad puede herir a un hombre como tú, y tu justicia puede beneficiar a un hijo de hombre.

9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions [the wicked] cause men to cry: these complain aloud because of the arm of the mighty.

“A causa de la multitud de opresiones gritan. Piden ayuda por el brazo del poderoso.

10 But [man] saith not, Where is God my maker, who bestoweth joyful songs even in the night;

Pero nadie dice: “¿Dónde está Dios, mi Hacedor? que da canciones en la noche,

11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of the heavens?

que nos enseña más que los animales de la tierra, y nos hace más sabios que los pájaros del cielo”.

12 There do they cry, but he answereth not: because of the pride of evil men.

Allí gritan, pero nadie responde, por el orgullo de los hombres malos.

13 Only what is false will God not hear, nor will the Almighty regard it.

Ciertamente, Dios no escuchará un grito vacío, ni el Todopoderoso lo considerará.

14 Although thou sayest, thou canst not see him: yet the decision is before him; and do thou wait for him.

Cuánto menos cuando dices que no lo ves. La causa está delante de él, ¡y tú lo esperas!

15 But now, because his anger hath punished nothing, shall he not greatly take cognizance of the multitude of sins?

Pero ahora, porque no ha visitado en su ira, tampoco considera mucho la arrogancia,

16 But Job openeth wide his mouth for nought: without knowledge he heapeth up words.

por lo tanto Job abre su boca con palabras vacías, y multiplica las palabras sin conocimiento”.
