Job 28
1 For truly there is a source for the silver, and a place for the gold which men refine.
Cu siguranță este o vână pentru argint și un loc pentru aur, unde ei îl purifică.
2 Iron is taken out of the dust, and the stone is melted into copper.
Fierul este luat din pământ și arama este topită [din] piatră.
3 An end doth he set to darkness, and the very utmost limit doth he search out, the stones of darkness, and of the shadow of death.
El pune o margine întunericului și cercetează toată desăvârșirea, pietrele întunericului și umbra morții.
4 He breaketh a channel far from the inhabited place; those of unsteady foot, the poorest of men move [there about].
Potopul izbucnește de la locuitor; apele uitate de picior sunt uscate, îndepărtate de la oameni.
5 The earth, out of which cometh forth bread, is under its surface turned up as it were with fire.
Cât despre pământ, din el iese pâinea și dedesubt acesta este întors ca focul.
6 Her stones are the place whence the sapphire cometh; and golden dust is also there;
Pietrele lui sunt locul safirelor și are praf de aur.
7 [On the] path which no bird of prey knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not surveyed;
Este o cărare pe care nicio pasăre nu o cunoaște și pe care ochiul vulturului nu a văzut-o;
8 [Which] ravenous beasts have never trodden, over which the lion hath never passed.
Puii leului nu au călcat-o, leul feroce nu a trecut pe lângă ea.
9 To the flinty rock he stretcheth forth his hand; he overturneth the mountains from the root.
Își pune mâna pe stâncă, răstoarnă munții din rădăcini.
10 Amid rocks he heweth out canals: and every precious thing doth his eye behold.
El taie râuri printre stânci; și ochiul lui vede fiecare lucru prețios.
11 The various droppings of water he uniteth into streams, and what is hidden he bringeth forth to light.
El stăvilește potopurile de la revărsare; și ce este ascuns scoate la lumină.
12 But wisdom—where shall she he found? and where is the place of understanding?
Dar unde se va găsi înțelepciunea? Și unde este locul înțelegerii?
13 Man knoweth not her value: and she is not to be found in the land of the living.
Omul nu cunoaște prețul ei și nu se găsește în țara celor vii.
14 The deep saith, Not in me is she: and the sea saith, She is not with me.
Adâncul spune: Nu este în mine; și marea spune: Nu este cu mine.
15 No fine gold can be given in lieu of her, and silver cannot be weighed out as her price.
Nu poate fi obținută cu aur, nici argintul nu va fi cântărit ca preț al ei.
16 She cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
Nu poate fi prețuită cu aurul Ofirului, cu prețiosul onix, sau safirul.
17 She cannot be estimated after gold and glass; and not in exchange for her [can] vessels of refined gold [be taken.]
Aurul și cristalul nu o pot egala; și schimbarea ei nu va fi pe bijuterii din aur pur.
18 Coral and crystal will not be thought of; and the value of wisdom is above pearls.
Nu se va aminti despre coral sau perle, pentru că prețul înțelepciunii este peste cel al rubinelor.
19 She cannot be estimated after the topaz of Ethiopia, nor can she be valued with pure gold.
Topazul din Etiopia nu o va egala, nici nu va fi prețuită cu aur pur.
20 But wisdom—whence cometh she? and where is the place of understanding?
De unde vine atunci înțelepciunea? Și unde este locul înțelegerii?
21 Yea, she is hidden from the eyes of all living, and from the fowls of the heavens is she concealed.
Văzând că este ascunsă de ochii tuturor celor vii și ascunsă de păsările cerului.
22 Perdition and death say, With our ears have we heard a report of her.
Distrugerea și moartea spun: Am auzit cu urechile noastre de faima ei.
23 God [alone] understandeth her way, and he knoweth her place;
Dumnezeu îi înțelege calea și îi cunoaște locul;
24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, [whatever is] under the whole heaven doth he see.
Pentru că el privește la marginile pământului și vede sub întregul cer;
25 When he imparted weight unto the wind; and [when] the waters he established by measure;
Pentru a face o măsură de greutate vânturilor; și cântărește apele cu măsura.
26 When he made a law for the rain, and a way for the lightning of [his] thunders;
Când a dat o hotărâre pentru ploaie și o cale pentru fulgerul tunetului,
27 Then did he see her, and make her known; he established her, and also searched her out.
Atunci a văzut-o și a vestit-o; el a pregătit-o, da, și a cercetat-o.
28 And he said unto man, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to eschew evil is understanding.
Și omului i-a spus: Iată, teama de Domnul, aceasta este înțelepciune; și a pleca de la rău este înțelegere.
