< Job 28 >

1 For truly there is a source for the silver, and a place for the gold which men refine.
“Ddala ddala waliwo ebirombe mwe basima effeeza, n’ekifo gye balongooseza effeeza.
2 Iron is taken out of the dust, and the stone is melted into copper.
Ekyuma kisimibwa mu ttaka, n’ekikomo ne bakisaanuusa okukiggya mu mayinja.
3 An end doth he set to darkness, and the very utmost limit doth he search out, the stones of darkness, and of the shadow of death.
Omuntu agoberera enzikiza n’anoonya eyo mu ttaka wansi, asime ekyuma mu kizikiza ekiri wansi ennyo.
4 He breaketh a channel far from the inhabited place; those of unsteady foot, the poorest of men move [there about].
Asima ekinnya ekiri ewala n’abantu gye babeera, mu bifo eteyita bantu, ewala okuva abantu gye bayita.
5 The earth, out of which cometh forth bread, is under its surface turned up as it were with fire.
Ensi evaamu emmere, naye wansi waayo yafuusibwa nga muliro.
6 Her stones are the place whence the sapphire cometh; and golden dust is also there;
Safira eva mu mayinja gaayo, era enfuufu yaayo erimu zaabu.
7 [On the] path which no bird of prey knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not surveyed;
Tewali kinyonyi kiyizzi kimanyi kkubo lino, wadde n’amaaso ga kamunye tegarirabanga.
8 [Which] ravenous beasts have never trodden, over which the lion hath never passed.
Ekibinja ky’empologoma ento tekituukangayo, tewali mpologoma yali eyiseeyo.
9 To the flinty rock he stretcheth forth his hand; he overturneth the mountains from the root.
Omuntu ayasa n’omukono gwe ejjinja ery’embaalebaale, n’avuunika ensozi okuviira ddala we zisibuka.
10 Amid rocks he heweth out canals: and every precious thing doth his eye behold.
Asima ensalosalo ku njazi; n’amaaso ge galaba eby’omuwendo byonna.
11 The various droppings of water he uniteth into streams, and what is hidden he bringeth forth to light.
Anoonya wansi mu migga, n’aggyayo ebintu ebyakwekebwa.
12 But wisdom—where shall she he found? and where is the place of understanding?
“Naye amagezi gasangibwa wa? Okutegeera kuva wa?
13 Man knoweth not her value: and she is not to be found in the land of the living.
Omuntu tayinza kutegeera mugaso gwago; tegasangibwa mu nsi y’abalamu.
14 The deep saith, Not in me is she: and the sea saith, She is not with me.
Obuziba bwogera nti, ‘Tegali mu nze,’ ennyanja eyogera nti, ‘Tegali mu nze.’
15 No fine gold can be given in lieu of her, and silver cannot be weighed out as her price.
Tegayinza kugulibwa na zaabu asingayo obulungi, wadde omuwendo gwago okupimibwa mu ffeeza.
16 She cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
Tegayinza kugulibwa na zaabu wa Ofiri, mu mayinja ag’omuwendo aga onuku oba safiro.
17 She cannot be estimated after gold and glass; and not in exchange for her [can] vessels of refined gold [be taken.]
Zaabu n’endabirwamu tebiyinza kugenkana: so tegayinza kugeraageranyizibwa n’amayinja ag’omuwendo.
18 Coral and crystal will not be thought of; and the value of wisdom is above pearls.
Kolali n’amayinja ag’endabirwamu tebyogerwa nako; omuwendo ogugula amagezi gusinga amayinja amatwakaavu.
19 She cannot be estimated after the topaz of Ethiopia, nor can she be valued with pure gold.
Topazi eva mu Esiyopya teyinza kugenkana, tegayinza wadde okugulibwa mu zaabu etetabikiddwamu kantu konna.
20 But wisdom—whence cometh she? and where is the place of understanding?
“Kale amagezi gava ludda wa? N’okutegeera kubeera ludda wa?
21 Yea, she is hidden from the eyes of all living, and from the fowls of the heavens is she concealed.
Gakwekebwa okuva mu maaso g’ebintu byonna ebiramu, era gakwekeddwa ebinyonyi by’omu bbanga.
22 Perdition and death say, With our ears have we heard a report of her.
Okuzikiriza n’Okufa kwogera nti, ‘Nawulirako buwulizi ku lugambo lwakwo mu matu gange.’
23 God [alone] understandeth her way, and he knoweth her place;
Katonda ategeera ekkubo erigatuukako era ye yekka y’amanyi gye gabeera,
24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, [whatever is] under the whole heaven doth he see.
kubanga alaba enkomerero y’ensi era alaba ebintu byonna wansi w’eggulu.
25 When he imparted weight unto the wind; and [when] the waters he established by measure;
Bwe yateekawo amaanyi g’empewo, n’apima n’amazzi,
26 When he made a law for the rain, and a way for the lightning of [his] thunders;
bwe yateekera enkuba etteeka era n’ekkubo eggulu we linaayitanga nga limyansa,
27 Then did he see her, and make her known; he established her, and also searched her out.
olwo n’atunuulira amagezi n’agalangirira; n’agateekawo, n’agagezesa.
28 And he said unto man, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to eschew evil is understanding.
N’agamba omuntu nti, ‘Laba, okutya Mukama, ge magezi, n’okuleka ekibi, kwe kutegeera.’”
