Job 21
1 Then answered Job, and said,
੧ਤਦ ਅੱਯੂਬ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 Hear, O hear my speech, and let this be wherewith you give consolations.
੨“ਗੌਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
3 Bear with me that I may indeed speak: and after my speaking, then canst thou mock.
੩ਮੈਨੂੰ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਸਹਿ ਲਓ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਬੋਲਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਠੱਠਾ ਕਰਿਓ!
4 As for me, —is against man my complaint? and if this be so, why should my spirit not be impatient?
੪“ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਫੇਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ?
5 Turn yourselves unto me, and be astounded, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
੫ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖੋ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ।
6 Yea, when I think of it, I am terrified, and shuddering seizeth hold of my flesh.
੬ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਘਬਰਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੰਬਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ!
7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, grow strong in power?
੭ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਵੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਲ-ਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ?
8 Their seed is firmly established in their presence with them. their offspring are before their eyes.
੮ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੰਸ਼ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
9 Their houses are at peace without any dread, and no rod of God [cometh] over them.
੯ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਭੈਅ ਰਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਲਾਮਤ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
10 The bull of each one gendereth, and disappointeth not: the cow of each one calveth, and casteth not her young.
੧੦ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਨ੍ਹ ਗੱਭਣ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਕਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਾਂਵਾਂ ਸੂੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਰਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ।
11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children skip about [with joy].
੧੧ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਆਣੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਘੱਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੱਚਦੇ ਹਨ।
12 They sing to the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
੧੨ਉਹ ਡੱਫ਼ ਤੇ ਬਰਬਤ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਬੀਨ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
13 They wear out their days in happiness, and in a moment they go down to the nether world. (Sheol h7585)
੧੩ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਨ ਸੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਪਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਧੋਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ! (Sheol h7585)
14 And yet they say unto God, “Depart from us; and the knowledge of thy ways we desire not.
੧੪ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ!
15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit shall we have, if we entreat him urgently?”
੧੫ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੀਏ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੀਏ?
16 Lo, not in their hand doth their happiness rest! The counsel of the wicked be [still] far from me.
੧੬ਵੇਖੋ, ਕੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ, ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ।
17 How often is the lamp of the wicked quenched? and how often cometh over them their calamity? and doth [God] distribute their lot in his anger?
੧੭“ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਬੁੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਵੰਡਦਾ ਹੈ।
18 Are they as straw before the wind, and as chaff which the stealeth away?
੧੮ਉਹ ਪੌਣ ਦੀ ਉਡਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਤੂੜੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕੱਖ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਵਰੋਲਾ ਉਡਾ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
19 Should God lay up for his children his wrong-doing? it were better that he reward him, that he might know it himself.
੧੯ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਰੱਖ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੇ।
20 His own eyes ought to see his downfall, and from the wrath of the Almighty ought he to drink.
੨੦ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੀਵੇ।
21 For what care hath he for his household after him, when the number of his months is all apportioned to him?
੨੧ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਲਈ ਕੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ?
22 Is this fitting God, who teacheth knowledge? him who judgeth those that are highest?
੨੨“ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ? ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ-ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
23 That this one dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet;
੨੩ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੈਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸੁੱਖ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਸੀ।
24 His vessels being full of healthy fluid, and the marrow of his bones being well moistened:
੨੪ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋਹਨੀਆਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਗੁੱਦਾ ਤਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
25 While this other dieth with an embittered soul, and hath never partaken of any happiness;
੨੫ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੀ ਕੁੜੱਤਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
26 [And yet] together they must lie down in the dust, and the worms will cover them?
੨੬ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the opinions which ye wrongfully devise against me.
੨੭“ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਖਿਆਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੁਗਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।
28 For ye say, Where is the house of the noble-minded? and where is the tent of the dwelling-places of the wicked?
੨੮ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਪਤਵੰਤੇ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੰਬੂ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ?
29 Have ye not asked the wayfarers? surely their token ye cannot disregard,
੨੯ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੀ ਰਾਹ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹਿਚਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ,
30 That the bad man is reserved for the day of calamity, [that the wicked] are carried forward to the day of wrath.
੩੦ਭਈ ਬੁਰਿਆਰ ਤਾਂ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਲਈ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
31 [But] who will tell him to his face of his way? and who will repay him what he hath done?
੩੧ਕੌਣ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਦੱਸੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ?
32 Yea he will indeed be carried to the grave, and men will quickly think of his monument:
੩੨ਉਹ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਕਬਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
33 Sweet are to him the clods of the valley; and after him succeedeth every man, as those that were before him are without number.
੩੩ਵਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਡਲੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਲੋਕ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
34 How then will ye comfort me with vanity? and of your answers there remaineth only deception.
੩੪“ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫੋਕੀਆਂ ਤਸੱਲੀਆਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਬੇਈਮਾਨੀ ਹੀ ਪਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ?”
