< Job 2 >

1 And it happened [again] on a certain day, when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, that the Accuser also came in the midst of them to present himself before the Lord.
Ku lunaku olulala bamalayika ne bajja okukiika mu maaso ga Mukama Katonda, ne Setaani naye n’ajjiramu.
2 Then said the Lord unto the Accuser, Whence comest thou now? And the Accuser answered the Lord, and said, From roaming over the earth, and from wandering through it.
Mukama Katonda n’abuuza Setaani nti, “Ova wa?” Setaani n’amuddamu nti, “Nva kutalaaga ensi yonna.”
3 Then said the Lord unto the Accuser, Hast thou directed thy attention toward my servant Job: for there is none like him on the earth, a man perfect and upright, who feareth God, and escheweth evil? and he is still holding fast to his integrity, and thou hast incited me against him, to destroy him without cause.
Mukama Katonda n’agamba Setaani nti, “Olowoozezza ku muddu wange Yobu? Talina kyakunenyezebwa, mwesimbu, atya Katonda era eyeewala ekibi bw’atyo talina amufaanana. Anywezezza obutuukirivu bwe newaakubadde nga wansokasoka mmuzikirize awatali nsonga.”
4 Then answered the Accuser the Lord, and said, Skin for skin: yea, all that a man hath will he give in behalf of his life.
Setaani n’amuddamu nti, “Eddiba olw’eddiba, omuntu kyaliva awaayo byonna by’alina olw’okuwonya obulamu bwe;
5 But stretch only forth thy hand, and touch his bone and his flesh, and [see] whether he will not renounce thee to thy face.
naye golola omukono gwo okwate ku magumba ge n’omubiri gwe olabe oba taakwegaane.”
6 Then said the Lord unto the Accuser, Behold, he is in thy hand: only take care of his life.
Mukama Katonda n’amugamba nti, “Weewaawo, ali mu mukono gwo, kyokka mulekere obulamu bwe.”
7 Thereupon went the Accuser forth from the presence of the Lord, and he smote Job with a sore inflammation, from the sole of his foot unto the crown of his head.
Awo Setaani n’ava awali Mukama Katonda, n’alwaza Yobu amayute amazibu okuva ku mutwe, okutuukira ddala ku bigere.
8 And [Job] took himself a potsherd to scrape himself there with, while he was sitting down among the ashes.
Yobu n’atandika okweyaguzanga oluggyo ng’eno bw’atudde mu vvu.
9 Then said his wife unto him, Art thou still holding fast to thy integrity? renounce God, and die.
Kyokka mukyala we n’amugamba nti, “Okyagugubidde ku butuukirivu bwo? Weegaane Katonda ofe!”
10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the worthless women would speak. What? should we accept the good alone, from God, and the evil we should not accept? With all this did Job not sin with his lips.
Naye ye n’amuddamu nti, “Oyogera ng’omu ku bakazi abatategeera bwe bandyogedde! Tunaafunanga birungi byereere mu mukono gwa Katonda?” Mu bino byonna Yobu teyayonoona na kamwa ke.
11 When now the three friends of Job had heard of all this evil that was come over him, they came every one from his own place, Eliphaz the Themanite, and Bildad the Shuchite, and Zophar the Na'amthite; and they met together to come to condole with him and to comfort him.
Awo mikwano gya Yobu abasatu; Erifaazi Omutemani, Birudaadi Omusuki, ne Zofali Omunaamasi bwe baawulira emitawaana egyali gituuse ku mukwano gwabwe, ne bajja buli omu okuva ewuwe ne basisinkana nga bwe baali bateesezza, bagende bamusaasire bamuzzeemu amaanyi.
12 And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and they recognised him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his robe, and strewed dust upon their heads toward heaven.
Tebaamutegeererawo nga bakyali wala, olw’embeera gye yalimu; ne bayimusa amaloboozi gaabwe ne bakuba ebiwoobe ne bayuza ebyambalo byabwe ne bayiwa enfuufu ku mitwe gyabwe.
13 They likewise sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights; but no one spoke a word unto him; for they saw that his pain was very great.
Awo ne batuula naye we yali atudde okumala ennaku musanvu emisana n’ekiro nga tewali anyega, olw’obulumi obungi Yobu bwe yalimu.
