< Job 17 >

1 My spirit is broken, my days are cut short, the grave is ready for me.
Ka hinghaih amro boeh moe, kai ih aninawk doeh laemh boeh; taprong mah ang zing kong boeh.
2 Yet truly those that mock are with me, and on their offendings must my eye rest.
Nihcae mah kai ang pahnui o thuih na ai maw? Ang pahrue o haih to ka mik mah hnuk toepsoep na ai maw?
3 And thou, [Creator!] attend, I pray thee, be my surety with thyself: who else is there that would strike hands with me?
Vaihi kai han kacak lokkamhaih to na paek ah, mi hoiah maw ban kang sinh hoi han?
4 For thou hast concealed their heart against intelligence: therefore art thou not exalted [through them].
Nihcae panoekhaih palung mik na maengsak boeh; to pongah nihcae to pakoeh hmah.
5 Every one of them speaketh deceptively to his friends: may also the eyes of his children fail.
Ampui aling kami loe, a caanawk mikmaeng pae tih.
6 And he hath placed me here as a by-word unto nations; and I become openly as a place of abomination.
Kaminawk mah kasae thuih hanah anih mah ang suek, kai loe minawk mah mikhmai ah tamtui pathoih ih kami ah ka oh.
7 Therefore is my eye dim from vexation, and my limbs are all of them like a shadow.
Palungset loiah ka mik amtueng ai boeh, ka takpum boih tahlip baktiah ni oh boeh.
8 Upright men must be astonished at this, and the innocent must arouse himself against the hypocrite.
Toenghaih hoi khosah kaminawk loe hae hmuen pongah dawnrai o tih, zaehaih tawn ai kaminawk loe angsah cop kaminawk nuiah palungphui o tih.
9 Yet will the righteous hold firmly on to his way; and he that is clean of hands will acquire additional strength.
Toe katoeng kami loe a caehhaih loklam ah caeh poe ueloe, ban ciim kami loe thacak aep aep tih.
10 But all of you, do only return, and come but [to me]: and yet I shall not find among you one wise man.
Nangcae thungah palungha kami maeto doeh ka hnu ai pongah, vaihi amlaem o boih lai ah.
11 My days are past, my resolves are broken off, [even the thoughts]—the possessions of my heart.
Kai ih aninawk loe laemh boeh moe, ka sak atimhaih hoi palung thungah ka poek ih hmuen doeh amro ving boeh.
12 These would change the night into day, the light as near in the presence of darkness.—
Hae kaminawk mah aqum to khodai ah paqoi o moe, khoving naah khodai loe zoi boeh, tiah thuih o.
13 When I hope for the nether world as my house; in the darkness have I spread my couch; (Sheol h7585)
Taprong loe kai ih im ni, tiah ka zing; vinghaih thungah iihhaih kahni to ka baih. (Sheol h7585)
14 When I call to corruption, Thou art my father: Thou art my mother, and my sister, to the worms.
Amrohaih khaeah, Nang loe kam pa ni, tiah ka naa; sadong khaeah, Nang loe kam no hoi ka tanu ah na oh, tiah ka naa.
15 Ay, where is then my hope? as for my hope, who will see it [fulfilled]?
Vaihi ka oephaih naa ah maw oh? Mi mah maw ka oephaih to hnu tih?
16 Let then my limbs sink down to the nether world: truly in the dust alone there is rest for all. (Sheol h7585)
Nihcae loe kai hoi nawnto maiphu thungah anghak hanah, taprong khongkha thungah caeh o tathuk tih, tiah a naa. (Sheol h7585)
