Job 16
1 Then answered Job, and said,
१नंतर ईयोबाने उत्तर दिले आणि म्हणाला,
2 I have heard many things such as these: troublesome comforters are ye all.
२“या सर्व गोष्टी मी पूर्वी ऐकल्या आहेत, तुम्ही सर्व वायफळ सांत्वनकर्ते आहात.
3 Shall there be any end to words of wind? or what compelleth thee that thou shouldst answer?
३तुमची वायफळ शब्द कधीही संपत नाहीत. तुम्हास काय झाले आहे कि, तुम्ही याप्रमाणे उत्तर देता?
4 I also could well speak as ye do: if your soul were but in my soul's stead, I could overwhelm you with words, and could shake my head at you.
४जर तुमच्यासारखे मलाही बोलता आले असते, तर जे आता तुम्ही म्हणत आहात तेच मीही म्हणू शकलो असतो. मी तुमच्याविरुध्द शहाणपणाच्या गोष्टी सांगू शकलो असतो आणि माझे डोके तुमच्यासमोर हलवू शकलो असतो.
5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the condolence of my lips should restrain [your grief].
५अहो मी तुम्हास माझ्या मुखाने मी धीर दिला असता. आणि माझ्या ओठाने तुमचे सांत्वन केले असते.
6 Though I were to speak, my pain would not be restrained; and though I should forbear, what will go away from me?
६परंतु मी काहीही बोललो तरी माझ्या यातना कमी होत नाहीत. पण मी बोललो नाहीतर माझ्या यातना कमी कशा होणार?
7 But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
७खरोखरच तू माझी शक्ती हिरावून घेतली आहेस. तू माझ्या सर्व कुटुंबाचा नाश केला आहेस.
8 And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, they are my witnesses; and my leanness riseth up for me, giveth its testimony to my face.
८तू मला खूप बारीक व अशक्त केले आहे म्हणून मी अपराधी आहे असे लोकांस वाटते.
9 In his wrath he teareth me to pieces, and assaileth me: he gnasheth over me with his teeth; my adversary sendeth threatening looks at me.
९देव माझ्यावर हल्ला करतो. तो माझ्यावर रागावला आहे आणि तो माझे शरीर छिन्न विछिन्न करतो. तो माझ्याविरुध्द दात खातो, माझ्या शत्रूचे डोळे माझ्याकडे तिरस्काराने बघतात.
10 They now open wide against me their mouth; reproachfully they smite my cheek: altogether do they assemble against me.
१०लोक माझ्या भोवती जमले आहेत. ते माझी थट्टा करतात व तोंडावर मारतात.
11 God hath surrendered me to the unjust, and cast me down into the hands of the wicked.
११देवाने मला दुष्ट लोकांच्या स्वाधीन केले आहे. त्याने क्रूर मनुष्यांना मला त्रास द्यायची परवानगी दिली आहे.
12 I was at ease, but he hath crushed me; he hath also grasped me by the neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up unto himself as a mark;
१२मी अगदी मजेत होतो, पण देवाने मला चिरडून टाकले. हो त्याने माझी मान पकडली आणि माझे तुकडे तुकडे केले त्याने माझा निशाण्यासारखा उपयोग केला.
13 His archers encompass me round about; he cleaveth my reins sunder, and doth not pity; he poureth out upon the ground my gall;
१३त्याचे धनुर्धारी मला घेरतात. तो माझ्या कंबरेत बाण सोडतो तो दया दाखवीत नाही. तो माझे पित्ताशय धरतीवर रिकामे करतो.
14 He breaketh me down with breach upon breach; he runneth against me like a mighty man.
१४देव माझ्यावर पुन्हा पुन्हा हल्ला करतो. सैनिकाप्रमाणे तो माझ्यावर चाल करून येतो.
15 Sackcloth have I sewed upon my skin, and my horn I roll in the dust.
१५मी फार दु: खी आहे म्हणून मी दु: खाचे कपडे घालतो. मी इथे धुळीत आणि राखेत बसतो आणि मला पराभूत झाल्यासारखे वाटते.
16 My face gloweth from weeping, and on my eyelids resteth the shadow of death:
१६रडल्यामुळे माझा चेहरा लाल झाला आहे. माझ्या पापण्यांवर मरणाची छाया आहे.
17 Not because any violence is in my hands, and while my prayer is pure.
१७तरीही माझ्या हातून कोणात्याही प्रकारची हिंसा झाली नाही, आणि माझ्या प्रार्थना शुध्द आहेत. तरी असे झाले.
18 Earth! do thou not cover up my blood, and let no place restrain my cry.
१८हे धरती, माझे रक्त लपवू नकोस. माझ्या रडण्याला विश्रांतीस्थान देऊ नकोस.
19 Even now, behold, my witness is in the heavens, and one that testifieth for me is on high.
१९स्वर्गात कदाचित् माझ्या बाजूचा कुणीतरी असेल. जो माझी त्या सर्वसमर्थासमोर हमी घेईल.
20 Are my friends my defenders? unto God my eye poureth out [its tears].
२०माझे मित्र माझा उपहास करतात, पण माझे डोळे देवासमोर अश्रू ढाळतात.
21 And oh that a man might plead with God, as one son of earth with the other!
२१जशी एखादी व्यक्ती आपल्या मित्रासाठी वादविवाद करते तसा तो माझ्याविषयी देवाबरोबर बोलतो.
22 For when the numbered years are passed, then must I travel a path whence I cannot return.
२२जेव्हा काही वर्ष जातील, तेव्हा मी पुन्हा कधीही परतून न येणाऱ्या जागी जाणार आहे.”
