Jeremiah 1
1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Chilkiyahu, one of the priests that were in 'Anathoth in the land of Benjamin;
Reden Jeremias, des Sohnes Hilkias, aus den Priestern zu Anatot im Lande Benjamin,
2 To whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,
an welchen das Wort des HERRN erging in den Tagen Josias, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, im dreizehnten Jahre seiner Regierung,
3 And who continued [prophet] in the days of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah the king of Judah, until the carrying away into exile of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
und auch in den Tagen Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, bis zum Ende des elften Jahres Zedekias, des Königs von Juda, bis zur Gefangenführung Jerusalems im fünften Monat.
4 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Und das Wort des HERRN erging an mich und sprach:
5 Before yet I had formed thee in thy mother's body I knew thee; and before thou wast yet come forth out of the womb I sanctified thee: a prophet unto the nations did I ordain thee.
Ehe denn ich dich im Mutterleibe bildete, kannte ich dich, und bevor du aus dem Mutterschoße hervorgingst, habe ich dich geheiligt und dich den Völkern zum Propheten gegeben!
6 And I said, Ah, Lord Eternal! behold, I know not how to speak; for I am [but] a lad.
Da sprach ich: Ach, Herr, HERR, ich kann nicht reden; denn ich bin noch zu jung!
7 And the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am [but] a lad; but to whomsoever I may send thee shalt thou go, and whatsoever I may command thee shalt thou speak.
Aber der HERR sprach zu mir: Sage nicht: Ich bin zu jung! Sondern du sollst überall hingehen, wohin ich dich sende, und alles reden, was ich dich heiße!
8 Be not afraid because of them; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn ich bin mit dir, um dich zu erretten, spricht der HERR.
9 And the Lord stretched forth his hand, and touched [me] therewith on my mouth; and the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
Und der HERR streckte seine Hand aus und rührte meinen Mund an; und der HERR sprach zu mir: Siehe, ich habe meine Worte in deinen Mund gelegt!
10 See, I have appointed thee this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down: to build up, and to plant.
Siehe, ich habe dich am heutigen Tage über Völker und Königreiche bestellt, daß du ausrottest und zerstörest, verderbest und niederreißest, bauest und pflanzest.
11 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, A staff of all almond-tree do I see.
Und das Wort des HERRN erging an mich und sprach: Was siehst du, Jeremia? Da sprach ich: Ich sehe einen Wacholder.
12 And the Lord said unto me, Thou hast well seen; for I am watching over my word to perform it.
Da sprach der HERR zu mir: Du hast recht gesehen; denn ich will über meinem Worte wachen, es auszuführen!
13 And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, A seething pot do I see; and the front thereof is turned from the north.
Und des HERRN Wort erging zum zweitenmal an mich und sprach: Was siehst du? Da antwortete ich: Ich sehe einen siedenden Topf, der kommt von Norden her!
14 And the Lord said unto me, Out of the north shall the evil break forth over all the inhabitants of the land,
Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Von Norden her wird das Unglück einbrechen über alle Bewohner des Landes,
15 For, lo, I will call unto all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and upon all its walls round about, and upon [those of] all the cities of Judah.
denn siehe, ich rufe alle Geschlechter der nördlichen Königreiche, spricht der HERR, daß sie kommen und ein jeder seinen Thron stelle vor die Tore Jerusalems und wider alle ihre Ringmauern und wider alle Städte Judas;
16 And I will call them to account touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burnt incense unto other gods, and have bowed down unto the works of their own hands.
und ich will mein Urteil über sie fällen wegen all ihrer Bosheit, daß sie mich verlassen und andern Göttern geräuchert und die Werke ihrer Hände angebetet haben.
17 But do thou gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I may command thee; be not discouraged because of them, lest I humble thee before them.
Du aber, gürte deine Lenden, mache dich auf und rede zu ihnen alles, was ich dir gebieten werde! Sei unverzagt vor ihnen, damit ich dich nicht vor ihnen verzagt mache!
18 But I, behold, I have made of thee this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls over the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.
Siehe, ich mache dich heute zu einer festen Stadt und zu einer eisernen Säule und zu einer ehernen Mauer wider das ganze Land, wider die Könige von Juda, wider ihre Fürsten, wider ihre Priester und wider das Volk des Landes;
19 And [although] they fight against thee, they shall not prevail against thee; for with thee am I saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
sie werden zwar wider dich streiten, aber nichts wider dich vermögen; denn ich bin mit dir, spricht der HERR, um dich zu erretten.
