Jeremiah 9
1 Oh that one would make my head water, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughters of my people!
അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ നിഹതന്മാർനിമിത്തം രാവും പകലും കരയേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ തല വെള്ളവും എന്റെ കണ്ണു കണ്ണുനീരുറവും ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു!
2 Oh that one would place me in the wilderness in a lodging-place of wayfaring men. that I might leave my people, and go from them! for all of them are adulterers, a band of traitors.
അയ്യോ, എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടു പോയ്ക്കളയേണ്ടതിന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വഴിയാത്രക്കാർക്കുള്ള ഒരു സത്രം എനിക്കു കിട്ടിയെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു! അവരെല്ലാവരും വ്യഭിചാരികളും ദ്രോഹികളുടെ കൂട്ടവുമല്ലോ.
3 And they bend their tongues, their bow of falsehood, and not for the truth are they valiant in the land; for from evil to evil do they proceed, and me they know not, saith the Lord.
അവർ വ്യാജത്തിന്നായിട്ടു നാവു വില്ലുപോലെ കൊലെക്കുന്നു; അവർ സത്യത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല ദേശത്തു വീര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു; അവർ ഒരു ദോഷം വിട്ടു മറ്റൊരു ദോഷത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നു; അവർ എന്നെ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbor, and on any brother place ye no reliance; for every brother will surely supplant, and every neighbor will go about as a talebearer.
നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; ഒരു സഹോദരനിലും നിങ്ങൾ ആശ്രയിക്കരുതു; ഏതു സഹോദരനും ഉപായം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഏതു കൂട്ടുകാരനും നുണ പറഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നു.
5 And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and the truth will they not speak: they have taught their tongue to speak falsehood, they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
അവർ ഓരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ചതിക്കും; സത്യം സംസാരിക്കയുമില്ല; വ്യാജം സംസാരിപ്പാൻ അവർ നാവിനെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതികേടു പ്രവൃത്തിപ്പാൻ അവർ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു.
6 Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit: through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.
നിന്റെ വാസം വഞ്ചനയുടെ നടുവിൽ ആകുന്നു; വഞ്ചനനിമിത്തം അവർ എന്നെ അറിവാൻ നിരസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
7 Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and probe them; for how [else] shall I do because of the daughter of my people?
അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ ഞാൻ അവരെ ഉരുക്കി ശോധന കഴിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയെ വിചാരിച്ചു ഞാൻ മറ്റെന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു?
8 A murderous arrow is their tongue; [every one] speaketh deceit: with his mouth speaketh he peaceably to his neighbor, but in his heart he layeth wait for him.
അവരുടെ നാവു മരണകരമായ അസ്ത്രമാകുന്നു; അതു വഞ്ചന സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; വായ്കൊണ്ടു ഓരോരുത്തനും താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു സമാധാനം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടോ അവന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
9 Shall I not for these things inflict punishment on them? saith the Lord: or shall not on a nation such as this my soul be avenged?
ഇവനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവരെ സന്ദർശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജാതിയോടു ഞാൻ പകരം ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
10 For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation; because they are burnt up, so that no man can pass through them; and they hear not the voice of the cattle: both the fowls of the heavens and the beasts are fled; they are gone away.
പർവ്വതങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ കരച്ചലും വിലാപവും മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചൽപുറങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രലാപവും തുടങ്ങും; ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം അവ വെന്തുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; കന്നുകാലികളുടെ ഒച്ച കേൾക്കുന്നില്ല; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളും മൃഗങ്ങളും എല്ലാം വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.
11 And I will change Jerusalem into heaps of ruins, a dwelling for monsters: and the cities of Judah will I make desolate, without an inhabitant.
ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിനെ കൽകുന്നുകളും കുറുനരികളുടെ പാർപ്പിടവും ആക്കും; ഞാൻ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളെ നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതാകുംവണ്ണം ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളയും.
12 Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it: for what is the land destroyed, burnt up like the wilderness, without one that passeth through?
ഇതു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ തക്ക ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവൻ ആർ? അവതിനെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ വായ് ആരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു? ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം ദേശം നശിച്ചു മരുഭൂമിപോലെ വെന്തുപോകുവാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു?
13 And the Lord said, Because they forsook my law which I had set before them, and hearkened not to my voice, and walked not therein;
യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു: ഞാൻ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവർ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയോ അതു അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ
14 But have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Be'alim, which their fathers had taught them.
തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യത്തെയും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ തങ്ങളെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ച ബാൽവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,
15 Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them—this people, with wormwood, and give them poison-water to drink.
യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തെ കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ടു പോഷിപ്പിച്ചു നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കും.
16 And I will scatter them among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send out after them the sword, till I have consumed them.
അവരും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിയാത്ത ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഞാൻ അവരെ ചിന്നിച്ചു, അവരെ മുടിക്കുവോളം അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ വാൾ അയക്കും.
17 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Consider it well, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the women skilled in lament, that they may come;
സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ ചിന്തിച്ചു വിലാപക്കാരത്തികളെ വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുവിൻ; സാമർത്ഥ്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളെ ആളയച്ചു വരുത്തുവിൻ.
18 And let them make haste, and take up for us a lamentation, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids drop down water.
നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണിൽ നിന്നു കണ്ണുനീർ ഒഴുകത്തക്കവണ്ണവും നമ്മുടെ കൺപോളയിൽനിന്നു വെള്ളം ചാടത്തക്കവണ്ണവും അവർ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു വിലാപം കഴിക്കട്ടെ.
19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we wasted! we are greatly ashamed; because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.
സീയോനിൽനിന്നു ഒരു വിലാപം കേൾക്കുന്നു; നാം എത്ര ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം അത്യന്തം നാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നാം ദേശത്തെ വിട്ടുപോയല്ലോ; നമ്മുടെ നിവാസങ്ങളെ അവർ തള്ളിയിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
20 For hear, O ye women, the word of the Lord, and let your ear perceive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbor lamentation.
എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീകളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ചെവി അവന്റെ വായിലെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ വിലാപവും ഓരോരുത്തി താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരത്തിയെ പ്രലാപവും അഭ്യസിപ്പിപ്പിൻ.
21 For death is come up through our windows, is entered into our palaces; to cut off the children from the street, the young men from the open places.
വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു പൈതങ്ങളെയും വീഥികളിൽനിന്നു യുവാക്കളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു മരണം നമ്മുടെ കിളിവാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി കയറി നമ്മുടെ അരമനകളിലേക്കു പ്രവേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
22 Speak, Thus saith the Lord, Yea, the carcasses of men shall lie as dung upon the open field, and as the sheaves [left] after the harvestman, with none to gather them.
മനുഷ്യരുടെ ശവങ്ങൾ വയലിലെ ചാണകംപോലെയും കൊയ്ത്തുകാരന്റെ പിമ്പിലെ അരിപ്പിടിപോലെയും വീഴും; ആരും അവയെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്നു പറക.
23 Thus hath said the Lord, Let not the wise glorify himself in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glorify himself in his might, let not the rich glorify himself in his riches;
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ജ്ഞാനി തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; ബലവാൻ തന്റെ ബലത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; ധനവാൻ തന്റെ ധനത്തിലും പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു.
24 But let him that glorifieth himself glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord who exercise kindness, justice, and righteousness, on the earth; for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നവനോ: യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ ദയയും ന്യായവും നീതിയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്നെ ഗ്രഹിച്ചറിയുന്നതിൽ തന്നേ പ്രശംസിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതിൽ അല്ലോ എനിക്കു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
25 Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, that I will send punishment on all the circumcised who are [yet] uncircumcised;
ഇതാ മിസ്രയീം, യെഹൂദാ, ഏദോം, അമ്മോന്യർ, മോവാബ്, തലയുടെ അരികു വടിക്കുന്ന മരുവാസികൾ എന്നിങ്ങനെ അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തോടുകൂടിയ സകലപരിച്ഛേദനക്കാരെയും ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം വരുന്നു.
26 On Egypt, and on Judah, and on Edom, and on the children of 'Ammon, and on Moab, and all who have the locks of their hair cut off round that dwell in the wilderness; for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
സകലജാതികളും അഗ്രചർമ്മികളല്ലോ; എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ അഗ്രചർമ്മികളാകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
