Jeremiah 8

1 At that time, saith the Lord, shall they bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves.

Nianang panahona—kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh—kuhaon nila gikan sa mga lubnganan ang mga bukog sa mga hari sa Juda ug sa mga opisyal niini, ang mga bukog sa mga pari ug sa mga propeta, ug ang mga bukog sa mga lumolupyo sa Jerusalem.

2 And they shall spread them out before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, which they have loved, and which they have served, and after which they have walked, and which they have sought, and to which they have prostrated themselves: they shall not be gathered up, and they shall not be buried; dung upon the face of the ground shall they become.

Unya katagon nila kini ilalom sa kahayag sa adlaw ug bulan ug sa tanang mga bituon sa kalangitan; gisunod ug gialagaran nila kini nga mga butang sa kalangitan, nga gisundan nila ug gipangita, ug gisimba nila. Dili na tigomon ang mga bukog o ilubong pag-usab. Mahisama kini sa hugaw sa mga hayop ibabaw sa yuta.

3 And death shall be preferable to life, for all the residue of those that are left of this evil family, who are left in all the places whither I shall have driven them, saith the Lord of hosts.

Sa matag nahibiling dapit diin giabog ko sila, mas pilion nila ang kamatayon kaysa kinabuhi alang sa ilang mga kaugalingon, kadtong tanan nga nahibilin gikan niining daotan nga nasod—kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh nga pangulo sa kasundalohang anghel.

4 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord, Shall they fall, and not arise? will he turn away, and not return?

Busa sultihi sila, miingon si Yahweh niini: Dili ba mobangon si bisan kinsa nga matumba? Dili ba mosulay sa pagbalik si bisan kinsa nga nawala?

5 Why then remaineth this people, Jerusalem, rebellious by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast on deceit, they refuse to return.

Nganong kini nga katawhan, sa Jerusalem, nagpadayon sa pagkawalay pagtuo? Nagpabilin sila sa pagkamabudhion ug nagdumili sa paghinulsol.

6 I listened and heard, but they would not speak aright; no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned again to his course, as the impetuous horse in the battle.

Nagpatalinghog ug naminaw ako, apan wala sila nagsulti ug matarong; walay usa nga nagbasol sa iyang pagkadotan, walay usa nga miingon, “Unsa man ang akong nabuhat?” Silang tanan mipadayon sa ilang gitinguha, sama sa laki nga kabayo nga nagdali padulong sa gubat.

7 Yea, the stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle, and the swallow, atad the crane observe the time of their coming home; but my people know not the ordinance of the Lord.

Bisan pa ang tolabong sa langit nasayod sa hustong mga panahon; ug ang mga salampati, mga sayaw, ug mga lapay. Moadto sila sa mga dapit nga ilang padulngan sa hustong panahon, apan wala masayod ang akong katawhan sa mga sugo ni Yahweh.

8 How can ye say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Truly, behold in vain wrought the pen, in vain the writers.

Unsaon ninyo pag-ingon, nga “Maalamon kami, kay ang balaod ni Yahweh anaa kanato”? Sa pagkatinuod, tan-awa! Ang malimbongong pangsulat sa mga escriba nagbuhat ug bakak.

9 The wise men are ashamed, they are discouraged and caught, lo, the word of the Lord have they rejected; and what wisdom have they [now]?

Maulaw ang maalamong mga tawo. Mahadlok ug malit-ag sila. Tan-awa! Gisalikway nila ang pulong ni Yahweh, busa unsa may kapuslanan sa ilang kaalam?

10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, their fields to conquerors; for from the least even unto the greatest, every one is seeking his own gain: from the prophet even unto the priest every one practiseth falsehood.

Busa ihatag ko sa uban ang ilang mga asawa, ug ang ilang kaumahan ngadto sa mopanag-iya niini, tungod kay gikan sa yano ngadto sa pinakamahinungdanon, hakog silang tanan alang sa dili matinud-anon nga katuyoan! Gikan sa propeta ngadto sa pari, nagbuhat silang tanan ug bakak.

11 And they heal the breach of the daughter of my people very lightly, saying, Peace, peace: when there is no peace.

Giayo nila ang mga samad sa akong katawhan, sa pag-ingon “Kalinaw, Kalinaw” bisan walay kalinaw.

12 They should have been ashamed, because they had committed abomination; but they neither felt the least shame, nor did they know how to blush: therefore shall they fall among those that fall; at the time of their punishment shall they stumble, saith the Lord.

Naulaw ba sila sa dihang nagbuhat sila ug mga dulomtanan? Wala man gani sila naulaw! Busa mangapukan sila uban niadtong nangapukan; miingon si Yahweh, mapukan sila sa dihang silotan na sila.

13 I will surely make an end of them, saith the Lord: [there shall be left] no grapes on the vine, and no figs on the fig-tree, and the leaf shall wither; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.

Papahawaon ko gayod sila sa hingpit—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh—wala na unyay mga ubas sa paras, ni mga bunga sa mga kahoy nga igera. Kay malaya ang dahon, ug mangahanaw lamang ang gihatag ko kanila.

14 “Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there; for the Lord our God hath put us to silence, and given us poison-water to drink; because we have sinned against the Lord.

Nganong nanglingkod man kita dinhi? magtigom kita; mangadto kita sa pinarilang mga siyudad, ug mangahilom kita didto sa kamatayon. Kay pahilomon kita ni Yahweh nga atong Dios. Paimnon niya kita ug hilo, tungod kay nakasala man kita batok kaniya.

15 We hoped for peace, but no happiness is here; for a time of cure, and behold here is terror.”

Naghandom kita ug kalinaw, apan wala gayoy maayo. Naghandom kita ug panahon sa pagkaayo, apan tan-awa, adunay kalisang.

16 From Dan was heard the snorting of his horses; at the sound of the neighing of his war-steeds trembleth the whole land: and they are come, and devour the land, and all that filleth it; the city, and those that dwell therein.

Ang kinusmo sa iyang mga lalaking kabayo nadungog gikan sa Dan. Nauyog ang tibuok kalibotan sa dinahunog sa pagbahihi sa iyang kusgang mga kabayo. Kay moabot sila ug molamoy sa yuta ug sa kabtangan niini, ang siyudad ug sa nagpuyo niini.

17 For, behold, I will send out against you serpents, basilisks, for which there is no charm, and they shall bite you, saith the Lord.

Kay tan-awa, magpadala ako ug mga bitin sa inyong taliwala, mga malala nga bitin nga dili ninyo maorasyonan. Paakon nila kamo—kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh.”'

18 When I would cheer myself up against sorrow, my heart within me is pained.

Walay kataposan ang akong kasubo, ug nasakitan ang akong kasingkasing.

19 Behold [I hear] the voice of the complaint of the daughter of my people [coming] out of a far-off land: “Is the Lord not in Zion? is her king no more in her?” “Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with the vanities of the stranger?”

Tan-awa! Ang pagtuaw sa anak nga babaye sa akong katawhan gikan sa layong yuta! Wala ba si Yahweh sa Zion? O wala ba ang iyang hari? Nganong gipasuko man nila ako pinaagi sa ilang kinulit nga mga larawan ug walay bili nga langyaw nga mga diosdios?

20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not yet helped.”

Milabay na ang ting-ani ug nahuman na ang ting-init. Apan wala pa kita naluwas.

21 Because of the breach of the daughter of my people am I broken: I am grieved; astonishment hath taken fast hold on me.

Nasakitan ako tungod kay nasakitan ang anak nga babaye sa akong katawhan. Nasubo ako sa makalilisang nga mga butang nga nahitabo kaniya; nadismaya ako.

22 Is there no [more] balm in Gil'ad? or is no physician there? why then is there not placed a plaster [on the wound of] the daughter of my people?

Wala bay tambal sa Gilead? Wala bay mananambal didto? Nganong wala man naayo ang anak nga babaye sa akong katawhan?
