Jeremiah 52
1 One and twenty years was Zedekiah old when he became king, and eleven years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Chamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
Im Alter von einundzwanzig Jahren kam Zedekia auf den Thron und regierte elf Jahre in Jerusalem; seine Mutter hieß Hamutal und war die Tochter Jeremias, aus Libna.
2 And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, in accordance with all that Jehoyakim had done.
Er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, ganz wie Jojakim getan hatte.
3 For through the anger of the Lord it came to pass against Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out of his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
Denn infolge des Zornes des HERRN kam es mit Jerusalem und Juda dahin, daß der HERR sie von seinem Angesicht verstieß. Als Zedekia aber vom König von Babylon abgefallen war,
4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and they encamped against it, and built against it works of attack round about.
da – es war im neunten Jahre seiner Regierung, am zehnten Tage des zehnten Monats – kam Nebukadnezar, der König von Babylon, in eigener Person mit seiner ganzen Heeresmacht gegen Jerusalem herangezogen, und man eröffnete die Belagerung der Stadt und führte rings um sie Belagerungswerke auf;
5 So the city was placed in a state of siege until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
und die Stadt blieb dann eingeschlossen bis ins elfte Regierungsjahr Zedekias.
6 And in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, when the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land:
Am neunten Tage des vierten Monats, als die Hungersnot in der Stadt übermächtig geworden war und auch die Landbevölkerung kein Brot mehr hatte,
7 The city was broken in, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was near the king's garden; [while the Chaldeans were round about the city; ] and they went by the way of the plain.
da wurde die Stadtmauer durchbrochen, und alle Kriegsleute ergriffen die Flucht und verließen die Stadt nachts auf dem Wege durch das Tor zwischen den beiden Mauern, das am Königsgarten lag, während die Chaldäer noch rings um die Stadt her lagen, und sie wandten sich dann der Jordan-Ebene zu.
8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and they overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and all his army was scattered from him.
Aber das Heer der Chaldäer setzte dem Könige nach und holte Zedekia in den Steppen von Jericho ein, nachdem sein ganzes Heer sich zerstreut und ihn verlassen hatte.
9 And they caught the king, and they brought him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Chamath: and he called him to account.
So wurde denn der König gefangengenommen und zum König von Babylon nach Ribla in der Landschaft Hamath hinaufgeführt; der hielt dann Gericht über ihn.
10 And the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: and also all the princes of Judah did he slaughter in Riblah.
Der König von Babylon ließ die Söhne Zedekias vor dessen Augen schlachten, ebenso auch alle Fürsten von Juda in Ribla.
11 And the eyes of Zedekiah did he blind; and the king of Babylon bound him with brazen fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in the ward-house till the day of his death.
Zedekia aber ließ er blenden und in zwei Ketten legen und ihn dann nach Babylon bringen, wo er ihn bis zu seinem Todestage gefangenhielt.
12 And in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, [who] served the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem.
Am zehnten Tage des fünften Monats aber – das war das neunzehnte Regierungsjahr Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babylon – zog Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, der zur persönlichen Umgebung des Königs von Babylon gehörte, in Jerusalem ein
13 And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the king's house: and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, did he burn with fire:
und verbrannte den Tempel des HERRN sowie den königlichen Palast und alle anderen Häuser in Jerusalem: alle größeren Häuser ließ er in Flammen aufgehen.
14 And all the walls of Jerusalem round about did all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, pull down.
Sodann mußte das ganze chaldäische Heer, welches der Befehlshaber der Leibwache bei sich hatte, alle Mauern rings um Jerusalem niederreißen;
15 And certain of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people that had been left in the city, and the deserters, that had run away to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away into exile.
hierauf ließ Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, [einen Teil des niederen Volkes und] den Rest des Volkes, was an Einwohnern in der Stadt noch übriggeblieben war, ebenso die Überläufer, die zum König von Babylon übergegangen waren, [sowie den Rest der Werkleute] in die Verbannung nach Babylon führen;
16 But certain of the poorest of the land did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard leave for vine-dressers and for husbandmen.
von der niederen Bevölkerung des Landes aber ließ Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, einen Teil als Weingärtner und Ackerleute zurück.
17 Also the pillars of copper that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the copper sea that was in the house of the Lord, did the Chaldeans break, and they carried off all their copper to Babylon.
Aber die ehernen Säulen, die am Tempel des HERRN standen, sowie die Gestühle und das große eherne Wasserbecken, die beim Tempel des HERRN waren, zerschlugen die Chaldäer und nahmen alles Erz davon mit sich nach Babylon.
18 And the pots, and the shovels, and the knives, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of copper wherewith they used to perform the service, did they take away.
Auch die Töpfe, Schaufeln, Messer zum Lichtputzen, Schöpfkellen, Schüsseln, überhaupt alle ehernen Geräte, die man beim Gottesdienst gebraucht hatte, nahmen sie weg;
19 And the basins, and the censers, and the bowls, and the pots, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the purifying-tubes: of what was of gold the gold, and of what was of silver the silver, did the captain of the guard take away.
auch die Becken, Kohlenpfannen, Sprengschalen, Töpfe, Leuchter, Schüsseln und Becher, alles, was ganz aus Gold oder ganz aus Silber bestand, nahm der Befehlshaber der Leibwache weg.
20 The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve copper oxen that served instead of the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of the Lord: the copper of all these vessels could not be weighed.
Was die beiden Säulen sowie das eine große Wasserbecken und die zwölf ehernen Rinder, die sich unter ihm befanden, und die Gestühle betrifft, die der König Salomo einst für den Tempel des HERRN hatte anfertigen lassen, so war es unmöglich, das Erz aller dieser Kunstwerke zu wägen.
21 And as regardeth the pillars, eighteen cubits was the height of each one pillar; and a thread of twelve cubits would compass it; and its thickness was four fingers: it was hollow.
Was aber die Säulen betrifft, so war die eine Säule achtzehn Ellen hoch, und ein Faden von zwölf Ellen umspannte sie; ihre Dicke betrug vier Finger, inwendig war sie hohl.
22 And a capital was upon it of copper; and the height of the one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the capital round about, all of copper. And the like was the case with the second pillar and the pomegranates.
Oben auf ihr befand sich ein eherner Knauf, dessen Höhe bei der einen Säule fünf Ellen betrug; und ein Flechtwerk und Granatäpfel waren ringsum an dem Knauf angebracht, alles von Erz; ebenso war auch die andere Säule beschaffen. Was aber die Granatäpfel betrifft,
23 And the pomegranates were ninety and six on every side: all the pomegranates upon the network were one hundred round about.
so waren sechsundneunzig Granatäpfel da, die frei in der Luft hingen; die Zahl sämtlicher Granatäpfel an dem Flechtwerk ringsum betrug hundert.
24 And the captain of the guard took Serayah the chief priest, and Zephanyah the priest second in rank, and the three door-keepers;
Weiter ließ der Befehlshaber der Leibwache den Oberpriester Seraja, den Unterpriester Zephanja und die drei Schwellenhüter verhaften;
25 And out of the city he took a certain court-officer, who had the supervision of the men of war: and seven men of those that had free access to the kings presence, who were found in the city; and the scribe of the chief of the army, who ordered to the army the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city;
ferner nahm er aus der Stadt den einen Kämmerer fest, der den Oberbefehl über das Kriegsvolk gehabt hatte, sowie sieben Männer von denen, die zu der ständigen Umgebung des Königs gehört hatten und die in der Stadt vorgefunden waren, außerdem den Schreiber des Feldhauptmanns, der das Landvolk zum Heeresdienst ausgehoben hatte, außerdem sechzig Personen aus der Landbevölkerung, die noch in der Stadt angetroffen waren.
26 And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and led them away unto the king of Babylon to Riblah.
Diese also nahm Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, und brachte sie zum König von Babylon nach Ribla;
27 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Chamath. Thus Judah was carried away into exile out of his own country.
der König von Babylon ließ sie dann zu Ribla in der Landschaft Hamath grausam hinrichten. So wurde Juda von seinem heimischen Boden in die Gefangenschaft weggeführt.
28 This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away into exile: in the seventh year, three thousand and twenty and three Jews;
Dies ist die Zahl der Personen, die Nebukadnezar in die Gefangenschaft hat wegführen lassen: im siebten Jahre seiner Regierung 3023 Judäer;
29 In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar from Jerusalem, eight hundred thirty and two persons;
im achtzehnten Regierungsjahr Nebukadnezars 832 Personen aus Jerusalem;
30 In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away into exile of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons; all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
im dreiundzwanzigsten Regierungsjahr Nebukadnezars führte Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, von den Judäern 745 Personen weg: im ganzen waren es 4600 Personen.
31 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the exile of Jehoyachin the king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the five and twentieth day of the month that Evil-merodach the king of Babylon in the [first] year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoyachin the king of Judah, and brought him forth out of the prison-house;
Aber im siebenunddreißigsten Jahre nach der Wegführung Jojachins, des Königs von Juda, am fünfundzwanzigsten Tage des zwölften Monats, begnadigte Ewil-Merodach, der König von Babylon – im Jahre seines Regierungsantritts – den König Jojachin von Juda und entließ ihn aus dem Kerker.
32 And he spoke kindly with him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
Er redete freundlich mit ihm und wies ihm seinen Sitz an über den Sitzen der anderen Könige, die mit ihm in Babylon waren.
33 And he changed his prison-garments: and he ate bread before him continually all the days of his life.
Er durfte nun auch seine Gefangenenkleidung ablegen und speiste regelmäßig an der königlichen Tafel, solange er noch lebte.
34 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him by the king, the necessary ration for the day on its day, until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
Sein Unterhalt wurde ihm als ständiger Unterhalt, soviel er täglich bedurfte, von seiten des Königs von Babylon bis zu seinem Todestage gewährt, solange er noch lebte.
