Jeremiah 48

1 Against Moab. Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Woe unto Nebo! for it is wasted; made ashamed, captured is Kiryathayim; made ashamed is Misgab and dismayed.

۱ درباره موآب، یهوه صبایوت خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: «وای بر نبوزیرا که خراب شده است. قریه تایم خجل وگرفتار گردیده است. و مسجاب رسوا و منهدم گشته است.

2 There is no more praise of Moab: in Cheshbon have they devised evil against it, “Come, and let us cut it off from being a nation.” Also thou Madmen shalt be ruined; after thee shall pursue the sword.

۲ فخر موآب زایل شده، در حشبون برای وی تقدیرهای بد کردند. بیایید و او رامنقطع سازیم تا دیگر قوم نباشد. تو نیز‌ای مدمین ساکت خواهی شد و شمشیر تو را تعاقب خواهدنمود.

3 There is a voice of crying from Choronayim, destruction and a great breach.

۳ آواز ناله از حورونایم مسموع می‌شود. هلاکت و شکستگی عظیم.

4 Broken down is Moab: her little ones send forth a cry of distress.

۴ موآب بهم شکسته است و صغیرهای او فریاد برمی آورند.

5 For the ascent of Luchith is ascended with weeping and tears; for on the descent of Choronayim the enemies have heard the cry of destruction.

۵ زیرا که به فراز لوحیت با گریه سخت برمی آیند و ازسرازیری حورونایم صدای شکست یافتن ازدشمنان شنیده می‌شود.

6 Flee, save your life, and be ye like the solitary tree in the wilderness.

۶ بگریزید و جانهای خود را برهانید و مثل درخت عرعر در بیابان باشید.

7 For, because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be conquered: and Kemosh shall go forth into exile, [with] his priests and his princes together.

۷ زیرا از این جهت که به اعمال و گنجهای خویش توکل نمودی تو نیز گرفتار خواهی شد. وکموش با کاهنان و سرورانش با هم به اسیری خواهند رفت.

8 And the water shall come over every city, and no city shall escape: and lost shall be the valley, and destroyed shall be the plain, as the Lord hath said.

۸ و غارت کننده به همه شهرهاخواهد آمد و هیچ شهر خلاصی نخواهد یافت وبرحسب فرمان خداوند اهل وادی تلف خواهندشد و اهل همواری هلاک خواهند گردید.

9 Give wings unto Moab, that she may flee and get away; since her cities shall become desolate, without any to dwell therein.

۹ بالهابه موآب بدهید تا پرواز نموده، بگریزد وشهرهایش خراب و غیرمسکون خواهد شد.

10 Cursed be he that doth the work of the Lord negligently, and cursed be he that withholdeth his sword from blood.

۱۰ ملعون باد کسی‌که کار خداوند را با غفلت عمل نماید و ملعون باد کسی‌که شمشیر خود را از خون باز‌دارد.

11 Moab was ever at ease from his youth, and he was resting on his lees, and was not emptied from vessel to vessel, and had not gone into exile: therefore had his taste remained in him, and his scent was not changed.

۱۱ موآب از طفولیت خودمستریح بوده و بر دردهای خود نشسته است و ازظرف به ظرف ریخته نشده و به اسیری نرفته است. از این سبب طعمش در او مانده است وخوشبویی او تغییر نیافته است.

12 Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will send unto him tappers, that shall tap him, and they shall empty his vessels, and dash in pieces their bottles.

۱۲ بنابراین اینک خداوند می‌گوید: روزها می‌آید که من ریزندگان می‌فرستم که او را بریزند و ظروف او را خالی کرده، مشکهایش را پاره خواهند نمود.

13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Kemosh, as the house of Israel were made ashamed because of Beth-el their confidence.

۱۳ وموآب از کموش شرمنده خواهد شد چنانکه خاندان اسرائیل از بیت ئیل که اعتماد ایشان بود، شرمنده شده‌اند.

14 How can ye say, We are mighty and men of bravery for the war?

۱۴ چگونه می‌گویید که ماشجاعان و مردان قوی برای جنگ می‌باشیم؟

15 Moab is wasted, and into his cities hath [the enemy] ascended, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, the Lord of hosts is his name.

۱۵ موآب خراب شده دود شهرهایش متصاعدمی شود و جوانان برگزیده‌اش به قتل فرودمی آیند. پادشاه که نام او یهوه صبایوت می‌باشداین را می‌گوید:

16 Near is the calamity of Moab to come, and his misfortune hasteneth fast.

۱۶ رسیدن هلاکت موآب نزدیک است و بلای او بزودی هر‌چه تمامتر می‌آید.

17 All ye that are about him bemoan him; and all ye that know his name: say, How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful stick!

۱۷ ‌ای جمیع مجاورانش و همگانی که نام او رامی دانید برای وی ماتم گیرید. بگویید عصای قوت و چوبدستی زیبایی چگونه شکسته شده است!

18 Come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst, thou inhabitress, daughter of Dibon; for the waster of Moab cometh up against thee, he destroyeth thy strong-holds.

۱۸ ‌ای دختر دیبون که (در امنیت ) ساکن هستی از جلال خود فرود آی و در جای خشک بنشین زیرا که غارت کننده موآب بر تو هجوم می‌آورد و قلعه های تو را منهدم می‌سازد.

19 Stand by the way, and look out, O inhabitress of 'Aro'er: ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, say, What hath been done?

۱۹ ‌ای تو که در عروعیر ساکن هستی به‌سر راه بایست ونگاه کن و از فراریان و ناجیان بپرس و بگو که چه شده است؟

20 Moab hath been made ashamed; for it is broken down; wail, and cry aloud: tell ye it by the Arnon, that Moab is wasted,

۲۰ موآب خجل شده، زیرا که شکست یافته است پس ولوله و فریاد برآورید. در ارنون اخبار نمایید که موآب هلاک گشته است.

21 And punishment is come over the land of the plain, over Cholon, and over Yahzah, and over Mepha'ath,

۲۱ و داوری بر زمین همواری رسیده است.

22 And over Dibon, and over Nebo, and over Beth-diblathayim,

۲۲ و بر دیبون و نبوو بیت دبلتایم،

23 And over Kiryathayim, and over Beth-gamul, and over Beth-me'on,

۲۳ و بر قریه تایم و بیت جامول وبیت معون،

24 And over Keriyoth, and over Bozrah, and over all the cities of the land of Moab, that are far and that are near.

۲۴ و بر قریوت و بصره و بر تمامی شهرهای بعید و قریب زمین موآب.

25 Hewn away is the horn of Moab, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.

۲۵ «خداوند می‌گوید که شاخ موآب بریده وبازویش شکسته شده است.

26 Make him drunken; for he magnified himself against the Lord: and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall become [an object] of derision.

۲۶ او را مست سازیدزیرا به ضد خداوند تکبر می‌نماید. و موآب درقی خود غوطه می‌خورد و او نیز مضحکه خواهدشد.

27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? or was he found among thieves? that whenever thou spokest of him, thou hadst to shake [thy head]?

۲۷ آیا اسرائیل برای تو مضحکه نبود؟ و آیااو در میان دزدان یافت شد به حدی که هر وقت که درباره او سخن می‌گفتی سر خود رامی جنبانیدی؟

28 Leave the cities, and dwell on rocks, O ye that dwell in Moab; and be ye like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the mouth of rocky clefts.

۲۸ ‌ای ساکنان موآب شهرها راترک کرده، در صخره ساکن شوید و مثل فاخته‌ای باشید که آشیانه خود را در کنار دهنه مغاره می‌سازد.

29 We have heard the pride of Moab, who is so exceedingly proud, his haughtiness, and his pride, and his arrogance, and the overbearingness of his heart.

۲۹ غرور موآب و بسیاری تکبر او را وعظمت و خیلا و کبر و بلندی دل او را شنیدیم.

30 I will know, saith the Lord, his wrath, and how causeless it is: his liars have done what is not right.

۳۰ خداوند می‌گوید: خشم او را می‌دانم که هیچ است و فخرهای او را که از آنها هیچ برنمی آید.

31 Therefore will I wail for Moab, and for all Moab will I cry out; for the men of Kir-cheres shall people moan.

۳۱ بنابراین برای موآب ولوله خواهم کرد و به جهت تمامی موآب فریاد برخواهم آورد. برای مردان قیرحارس ماتم گرفته خواهد شد.

32 With the weeping of Ya'zer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah; thy tendrils [once] passed over the sea, they reached as far as to the sea of Ya'zer: over thy summer-fruits and over thy vintage the waster is fallen.

۳۲ برای تو‌ای مو سبمه به گریه یعزیر خواهم گریست. شاخه های تو از دریا گذشته بود و به دریاچه یعزیر رسیده، بر میوه‌ها و انگورهایت غارت کننده هجوم آورده است.

33 And banished are joy and gladness from Carmel, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused the wine to cease from the wine-presses; none shall tread the press with the vintner's call; battle cry—nor vintner's call.

۳۳ شادی وابتهاج از بستانها و زمین موآب برداشته شد وشراب را از چرخشتها زایل ساختم و کسی آنهارا به صدای شادمانی به پا نخواهد فشرد. صدای شادمانی صدای شادمانی نیست.

34 From the loud cry of Cheshbon as far as El'aleh, even unto Yahaz, have they sent forth their voice, from Zo'ar even unto Choronayim, to the third 'Eglath; for the waters also of Nimrim shall become desolate.

۳۴ به فریادحشبون آواز خود را تا العاله و یاهص بلند کردندو از صوغر تا حورونایم عجلت شلیشیا، زیرا که آبهای نمریم نیز خرابه شده است.

35 Moreover will I cause to cease unto Moab, saith the Lord, him that offereth on the high-places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.

۳۵ و خداوند می گوید من آنانی را که در مکان های بلند قربانی می‌گذرانند و برای خدایان خود بخورمی سوزانند از موآب نابود خواهم گردانید.

36 Therefore shall my heart groan for Moab like flutes, and my heart shall groan like flutes for the men of Kir-cheres; for the cause that the remnant of the riches he had gotten are lost.

۳۶ لهذا دل من به جهت موآب مثل نای صدامی کند و دل من به جهت مردان قیرحارس مثل نای صدا می‌کند، چونکه دولتی که تحصیل نمودند تلف شده است.

37 For every head is bald, and every beard is shorn: upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins is sackcloth.

۳۷ و هر سر بی‌مو گشته وهر ریش تراشیده شده است و همه دستهاخراشیده و بر هر کمر پلاس است.

38 Upon all the roofs of Moab, and in her streets, there is everywhere lamentation; for I have broken Moab like a vessel which hath no value, saith the Lord.

۳۸ بر همه پشت بامهای موآب و در جمیع کوچه هایش ماتم است زیرا خداوند می‌گوید موآب را مثل ظرف ناپسند شکسته‌ام.

39 Oh, how is it broken down! wail! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! and Moab shall be a derision and a dismay to all those around him.

۳۹ چگونه منهدم شده و ایشان چگونه ولوله می‌کنند؟ و موآب چگونه به رسوایی پشت داده است؟ پس موآب برای جمیع مجاوران خود مضحکه و باعث ترس شده است.

40 For thus hath said the Lord, Behold, as the eagle shall he fly, and he shall spread out his wings over Moab.

۴۰ زیرا خداوند چنین می‌گوید: او مثل عقاب پرواز خواهد کرد و بالهای خویش را بر موآب پهن خواهد نمود.

41 Captured are the fortresses, and the strong-holds are conquered: and the heart of the mighty men of Moab shall be on that day as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

۴۱ شهرهایش گرفتار وقلعه هایش تسخیرشده، و دل شجاعان موآب درآن روز مثل دل زنی که درد زه داشته باشد خواهدشد.

42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people; because it hath magnified himself against the Lord.

۴۲ و موآب خراب شده، دیگر قوم نخواهدبود چونکه به ضد خداوند تکبر نموده است.

43 Terror, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the Lord.

۴۳ خداوند می‌گوید: ای ساکن موآب خوف وحفره و دام پیش روی تو است.

44 He that fleeth from the terror shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be caught in the snare; for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.

۴۴ آنکه از ترس بگریزد در حفره خواهد افتاد و آنکه از حفره برآید گرفتار دام خواهد شد، زیرا خداوندفرموده است که سال عقوبت ایشان را بر ایشان یعنی بر موآب خواهم آورد.

45 Under the shadow of Cheshbon stand still, deprived of strength, those that flee; but a fire cometh forth out of Cheshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sichon, and it devoureth the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the children of vaunting.

۴۵ فراریان بی‌تاب شده، در سایه حشبون ایستاده‌اند زیرا که آتش ازحشبون و نار از میان سیحون بیرون آمده، حدودموآب و فرق سر فتنه انگیزان را خواهد سوزانید.

46 Woe unto thee, O Moab! lost is the people of Kemosh; for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters into captivity.

۴۶ وای بر تو‌ای موآب! قوم کموش هلاک شده‌اند زیرا که پسرانت به اسیری و دخترانت به جلای وطن گرفتار گردیده‌اند.

47 Yet will I bring back again the captivity of Moab in the end of days, saith the Lord. Thus far is the punishment of Moab.

۴۷ لیکن خداوندمی گوید که در ایام آخر، اسیران موآب را بازخواهم آورد. حکم درباره موآب تا اینجاست.»
