Jeremiah 45

1 The word which Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto Baruch the son of Neriyah, when he wrote these words in a book out of the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, saying,

A mensagem que Jeremias o profeta falou a Baruc, filho de Nerias, quando ele escreveu estas palavras em um livro na boca de Jeremias, no quarto ano de Jeoiaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, dizendo:

2 Thus hath said the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning thee, O Baruch:

“Yahweh, o Deus de Israel, diz a você, Baruc:

3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the Lord hath added grief to my pain; I am wearied in my sighing, and rest have I not found;

'Você disse: “Ai de mim agora! Pois Javé acrescentou tristeza à minha dor! Estou cansado do meu gemido, e não encontro descanso”.

4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, Thus hath the Lord said, Behold, what I have built will I pull down, and what I have planted I will pluck up; and so it is with this whole land.

“Você lhe dirá, Javé diz: “Eis que o que eu construí, eu o derrubarei, e o que plantei eu o arrancarei; e isto em todo o terreno.

5 And wouldst thou indeed seek great things for thyself? seek them not; for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord; but I will give thy life unto thee as a booty in all the places whither thou mayest go.

Você procura grandes coisas para si mesmo? Não as busqueis; pois, eis que trarei o mal sobre toda a carne', diz Javé, 'mas vos deixarei escapar com vossa vida para onde quer que fordes'”.
