< Jeremiah 34 >

1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, when Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the country ruled by his power, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all its cities, saying,
Nígbà tí Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli àti àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀, pẹ̀lú gbogbo ìjọba àti àwọn ènìyàn ní ilẹ̀ ọba tí ó jẹ ọba lé lórí ń bá Jerusalẹmu jà, àti gbogbo àwọn ìlú tí ó yíká, ọ̀rọ̀ yìí tọ Jeremiah wá láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa pé:
2 Thus hath said the Lord, the God of Israel, Go and speak to Zedekiah the king of Judah, and say to him, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will give up this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, that he may burn it with fire:
“Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli ọmọ-ogun wí: Lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ Sedekiah ọba Juda kí o sì sọ fún un pé, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Ọlọ́run wí: Èmi fẹ́ fa ìlú yìí lé ọba Babeli lọ́wọ́, yóò sì jó palẹ̀.
3 And thou thyself shalt not escape out of his hand; but thou shalt surely be caught, and be delivered into his hand; and thy eyes shall see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth shall speak with thy mouth, and to Babylon shalt thou go.
Ìwọ kò ní sá àsálà, ṣùgbọ́n à ó mú ọ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a ó sì fà ọ́ lé e lọ́wọ́. Ìwọ yóò rí ọba Babeli pẹ̀lú ojú ara rẹ; yóò sì bá ọ sọ̀rọ̀ lójúkojú; ìwọ yóò sì lọ sí Babeli.
4 Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah, Thus hath said the Lord respecting thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:
“‘Síbẹ̀, gbọ́ ìlérí Olúwa, ìwọ Sedekiah ọba Juda. Èyí ni ohun tí Ọlọ́run wí nípa rẹ; ìwọ kì yóò ti ipa idà kú;
5 In peace shalt thou die; and as burnings were made for thy fathers, the former kings who were before thee, so shall they make burnings for thee; and “Ah lord” shall they lament for thee; for I have spoken the word, saith the Lord.
ìwọ yóò kú ní àlàáfíà. Bí àwọn ènìyàn sì ti ń ṣe iná ìsìnkú ní ọlá fún àwọn baba rẹ, ọba tí ó jẹ ṣáájú rẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn yóò ṣe iná ní ọlá rẹ, wọn ó sì pohùnréré pé, “Yé, olúwa!” Èmi fúnra mi ni ó ṣèlérí yìí ni Olúwa wí.’”
6 And Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto Zedekiah the king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem,
Nígbà náà ni Jeremiah wòlíì sọ gbogbo nǹkan yìí fún Sedekiah ọba Juda ní Jerusalẹmu.
7 When the army of the king of Babylon was fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against 'Azekah; for these had been left of the cities of Judah as fortified cities.
Nígbà tí ogun ọba Babeli ń bá Jerusalẹmu jà, àti gbogbo àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó kù ní Juda, Lakiṣi, Aseka; àwọn nìkan ni ìlú olódi tí ó kù ní Juda.
8 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, after king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim among themselves freedom;
Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sì tọ Jeremiah wá lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí ọba Sedekiah ti dá májẹ̀mú pẹ̀lú gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn ní Jerusalẹmu láti polongo ìtúsílẹ̀ fún àwọn ẹrú.
9 That every man should dismiss his man-servant, and every man his maid-servant, being a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, free; so that no man among them should exact labor of a Jew, his brother.
Kí oníkálùkù lè jẹ́ kí ẹrúkùnrin àti ẹrúbìnrin tí í ṣe Heberu lọ lọ́fẹ̀ẹ́, kí ẹnikẹ́ni kí ó má mú ará Juda arákùnrin rẹ̀ sìn.
10 And all the princes had hearkened, with all the people, who had entered into the covenant, that every one should dismiss his man-servant, and every one his maid-servant, free, that no one should exact labor of them any more: and they had obeyed, and dismissed them.
Nítorí náà, gbogbo àwọn aláṣẹ àti àwọn ènìyàn tí wọ́n fi ọwọ́ sí májẹ̀mú náà láti dá ẹrúkùnrin àti ẹrúbìnrin sílẹ̀ kí wọ́n sì má ṣe fi wọ́n sínú ìgbèkùn mọ́. Wọ́n sì gbà, wọ́n sì jẹ́ kí wọn lọ lọ́fẹ̀ẹ́.
11 But they had turned afterward, and they had brought back the men-servants and the maid-servants whom they had dismissed as free, and had subjected them to become men-servants and maid-servants.
Ṣùgbọ́n lẹ́yìn ìgbà díẹ̀, wọ́n yí ọkàn wọn padà; wọ́n sì mú àwọn ẹrú tí wọ́n ti dá sílẹ̀ padà láti tún máa sìn wọ́n.
12 And the word of the Lord [then] came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
Nígbà náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ Jeremiah wá wí pé:
13 Thus hath said the Lord, the God of Israel, —I myself made a covenant with your fathers on the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,
“Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa, Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí pé: Mo dá májẹ̀mú kan pẹ̀lú àwọn baba ńlá yín nígbà tí mo mú wọn kúrò ní Ejibiti; kúrò ní oko ẹrú. Mo wí pé,
14 At the end of seven years shall ye dismiss every man his brother the Hebrew, who may have been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, then shalt thou dismiss him from thee; but your fathers hearkened not unto me, and inclined not their ear.
‘Ní ọdún keje, ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yín gbọdọ̀ tú àwọn Heberu tí wọ́n ti ta ara wọn fún un yín sílẹ̀ lẹ́yìn tí wọ́n ti sìn yín fún ọdún mẹ́fà. Ẹ gbọdọ̀ jẹ́ kí wọn kí ó lọ’; ṣùgbọ́n àwọn baba yín kò gbọ́; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn kò fetí sí mi.
15 And ye had turned this day, and done what is right in my eyes, to proclaim freedom every man to his neighbor; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house over which my name is called;
Láìpẹ́ yìí ẹ ti ronúpìwàdà, ẹ sì ṣe ohun tí ó tọ́ lójú mi, ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yín sì ṣe ìtúsílẹ̀ fún àwọn ènìyàn. Ẹ sì tún bá mi dá májẹ̀mú ní àwọn ilé tí a ti ń pe orúkọ mi.
16 But ye have turned again, and profaned my name, and ye have brought back every man his man-servant, and every man his woman-servant, whom ye had dismissed as free at their pleasure, and have subjected them to be unto you for men-servants and for women-servants.
Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin yípadà, ẹ sì sọ orúkọ mi di èérí, olúkúlùkù sì mú kí àwọn ẹni rẹ tí ó ti sọ di òmìnira bí ọkàn wọn ti fẹ́ padà; ẹ̀yin sì tún fi wọ́n ṣe ẹrú.
17 Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Ye indeed have not hearkened unto me, to proclaim freedom, every one to his brother, and every one to his neighbor: behold, I proclaim a freedom over you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you a horror unto all the kingdoms of the earth.
18 And I will give up the men that have transgressed my covenant, who have not fulfilled the words of the covenant which they had made before me, at the calf which they cut in twain, and between the parts whereof they passed,
Èmi ó ṣe àwọn ọkùnrin náà tí ó da májẹ̀mú mi, tí kò tẹ̀lé májẹ̀mú tí wọ́n ti dá níwájú mi bí ẹgbọrọ màlúù tí wọ́n gé sí méjì, tí ó sì kọjá láàrín ìpín méjì náà.
19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the court-servants, and the priests, and all the people of the land, who have passed between the parts of the calf;
Àwọn ìjòyè Juda àti àwọn ti Jerusalẹmu, àwọn aláṣẹ àti àwọn àlùfáà àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ náà tí ó kọjá láàrín àwọn ìpín méjèèjì ẹgbọrọ màlúù náà.
20 [Yea] I will give them up into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life; and their dead bodies shall become food unto the fowls of the heavens, and to the beasts of the earth.
Èmi ó fi wọ́n lé ọwọ́ àwọn ọ̀tá wọn, àti lé àwọn tí ń wá ẹ̀mí wọn lọ́wọ́. Òkú wọn yóò jẹ́ oúnjẹ fún àwọn ẹyẹ ojú ọ̀run àti fún àwọn ẹranko igbó.
21 And Zedekiah the king of Judah and his princes will I give up into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life, and into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, that are [now] gone away from you.
“Sedekiah ọba àti àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀ ní Juda ni èmí yóò fi lé àwọn ọ̀tá wọn lọ́wọ́, àti àwọn tí ń wá ẹ̀mí wọn àti lé ọwọ́ ogun Babeli tí ó ti lọ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ yín.
22 Behold, I will command, speaketh the Lord, and I will bring them back to this city; and they shall fight against it, and capture it, and burn it with fire: and the cities of Judah will I make a desert without an inhabitant.
Wò ó èmi ó pàṣẹ ni Olúwa wí, èmi ó sì mú wọn padà sí ìlú yìí, wọn ó sì bá a jà, wọn ó sì kó o, wọn ó fi iná jó o. Èmi ó sì sọ ìlú Juda dí ahoro.”
