Jeremiah 30
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
Este es el mensaje que llegó a Jeremías de parte del Señor:
2 Thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor, el Dios de Israel: Escribe en un libro todo lo que te he dicho.
3 For, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will bring back again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord; and I will cause them to return to the land that I have given to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
Mira, se acerca el tiempo, declara el Señor, en que haré volver a mi pueblo Israel y Judá del cautiverio, declara el Señor. Los haré volver al país que les di a sus antepasados, y volverán a ser dueños de él.
4 And these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah;
Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor sobre Israel y Judá.
5 For thus hath said the Lord, A voice of terror have we heard, dread, and no peace.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor: Oigan los gritos de pánico, gritos de miedo, no de paz.
6 Ask ye now, and see whether a male doth give birth to a child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in giving birth? and why are all faces turned pale?
¡Piensa en ello! ¿Pueden los hombres dar a luz? No. Entonces, ¿por qué veo a todos los hombres sujetándose el vientre con las manos como una mujer de parto? ¿Por qué todos los rostros están blancos como una sábana?
7 Alas, for that day is great, there is none like it; and a time of distress it is unto Jacob; yet out of it shall he be saved.
¡Qué día tan terrible será, un día como nunca antes! Este es el tiempo de la angustia para los descendientes de Jacob, pero serán rescatados de ella.
8 And it shall come to pass on that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and thy bands will I burst asunder; and strangers shall not make him serve any more;
En ese día, declara el Señor Todopoderoso, romperé el yugo de sus cuellos y arrancaré sus cadenas. Los extranjeros ya no los harán esclavos.
9 But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
Servirán al Señor, su Dios, y a su rey, el descendiente de David que yo les daré.
10 And thou—do not fear, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; and be not dismayed, O Israel; for, behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity: and Jacob shall return, and shall be at rest, and be secure, with none to terrify him.
Por lo que a ti respecta, siervo mío Jacob, no temas, declara el Señor, Israel, no te desanimes. Prometo salvarte de tus lejanos lugares de exilio, a tus descendientes de los países donde están cautivos. Los descendientes de Jacob volverán a casa con una vida tranquila y cómoda, libres de cualquier amenaza.
11 For with thee am I, saith the Lord, to save thee: though I make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee, yet of thee will I not make a full end; but I will correct thee in moderation, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
Yo estoy con ustedes y los salvaré, declara el Señor. Aunque voy a destruir por completo a todas las naciones donde te he dispersado, no te destruiré por completo. Sin embargo, te disciplinaré como te mereces, y puedes estar seguro de que no te dejaré sin castigo.
12 For thus hath said the Lord, Incurable is thy bruise, and painful, thy wound.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor: Tienes una herida que no se puede curar, tienes una lesión terrible.
13 There is no one to plead thy cause, to bind up [thy wound]: useful remedies there are none for thee.
No hay nadie que se ocupe de tu caso, no hay cura para tus llagas, no hay curación para ti.
14 All thy lovers have forgotten thee; thee they seek not; for with the blow of an enemy have I smitten thee, with cruel chastisement, for the multitude of thy iniquity, because thy sins were so numerous.
Todos tus amantes se han olvidado de ti; ya no se molestan en buscarte, porque te he golpeado como si fuera tu enemigo, la disciplina de una persona cruel, por lo malvado que eres, por tus muchos pecados.
15 Why wilt thou cry out because of thy breach? for thy pain which is incurable? because of the multitude of thy iniquity, because thy sins were so numerous, have I done these things unto thee.
¿Por qué lloras por tu herida? Tu dolor no se puede curar. Yo te hice esto por lo malvado que eres, por tus muchos pecados.
16 Nevertheless all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thy adversaries, all of them, shall go into captivity; and they that plunder thee shall be [given up] to plunder, and all that prey upon thee will I give up for a prey.
Aun así, todo el que te destruya será destruido. Todos tus enemigos, hasta el último, serán enviados al exilio. Los que te saquearon serán saqueados, y todos los que te robaron serán robados.
17 For I will place a healing plaster on thy bruise, and of thy wounds will I cure thee, saith the Lord; because they called thee “an Outcast.” “This is Zion, whom no one seeketh after.”
Pero yo te devolveré la salud y sanaré tus heridas, declara el Señor, porque la gente dice que has sido abandonada y que nadie se preocupa por ti, Sión.
18 Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will bring back again the captivity of the tents of Jacob, and on his dwelling-places will I have mercy; and the city shall be rebuilt upon her own heap of ruins, and the palace shall be inhabited after its [ancient] manner.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor: Haré que los descendientes de Jacob vuelvan a sus hogares y me apiadaré de sus familias. La ciudad será reconstruida sobre sus ruinas, y el palacio volverá a estar en pie donde debe estar.
19 And there shall proceed out of them thanksgiving, and the voice of those that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be diminished; I will also make them numerous, and they shall not be made few in number.
La gente cantará canciones de agradecimiento, sonidos de celebración. Aumentaré su número, no disminuirá. Los honraré: no serán tratados como insignificantes.
20 And their children shall be as aforetimes, and their congregation shall be firmly established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
Sus hijos serán atendidos como antes. Haré que su nación vuelva a ser fuerte, y castigaré a cualquiera que los ataque.
21 And their leader shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me; for who is this that will venture of his own heart to approach unto me? saith the Lord.
Su líder será de su propio país, su gobernante será elegido de entre ellos. Lo invitaré a acercarse a mí, y lo hará, porque ¿se atreverá alguien a acercarse a mí sin que se lo pida? declara el Señor.
22 And ye shall be unto me for a people, and I will be unto you for a God.
Ustedes serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios.
23 Behold, the storm-wind of the Lord goeth forth with fury, an abiding storm-wind: upon the head of the wicked shall it fall.
¡Cuidado! El Señor ha enviado una tormenta furiosa, un tornado que gira en torno a las cabezas de los malvados.
24 The fierceness of the anger of the Lord will not turn back, until he have done, and until he have fulfilled the purposes of his heart: in the latter days shall ye understand this.
La ira del Señor no se desvanecerá hasta que termine de hacer todo lo que quiere. Sólo entonces comprenderá realmente.
