Jeremiah 27
1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

2 Thus said the Lord to me, Make for thyself bands and yoke-bars, and put them around thy neck,

3 And send such to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of 'Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Zidon, by means of the messengers who come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah the king of Judah;
Kisha akawatuma kwenda kw mfalme wa Edomu, mfalme wa Moabu, mfalme wa watu wa amoni, mfalme wa Tiro, na kwa mfalme wa Sidoni. Watume kwa mkono wa wajumbe hao wa wafalme ambao walikuja Yerusalemu kwa Sedekia mfalme wa Yuda.
4 And thou shalt charge them unto their masters, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say unto your masters,
Toa amri kwao kwa ajili ya mabwana zao na sema, ' Yahwe wa majeshi, Mungu wa Israeli, anasema hivi: Hivyo ndivyo utakavyosema kwa mabwana zenu,
5 It is I who have made the earth, the men, and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and I have given it unto the one who seemeth proper in my eyes.
Mimi mwenyewe niliiumba dunia kwa nguvu zangu kuu na mkono wangu ulioinuka. Pia niliwaumba watu na wanyama juu ya dunia, na nikawatoa kwa yeyote aliyesahihi katika macho yangu.
6 And now it is I who have given all these countries into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and also the beasts of the field have I given him to serve him.
Kwa hiyo sasa, Mimi mwenyewe naziweka nchi hizi zote kwenye mkono wa Nebukadreza, mfalme wa Babeli, mtumishi wangu. Pia, ninavikabidhi kwake viumbe hai vyote katika mashamba ili vimtumikie.
7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his land is also come in its turn: when many nations and great kings shall make it serve.
Kwa maana mataifa yote watamtumikia yeye, wanaye, na wajukuu zake hadi muda wa nchi yake ufike. Kisha mataifa mengi na wafalme wengi watamtiisha.
8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put its neck in the yoke of the king of Babylon, —even that nation will I punish with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, saith the Lord, until I have made an end of them by his hand.
Kwa hiyo taifa na ufalme ambo haumtumikii Nebukadreza, mfalme wa Babeli, na ule usioweka shingo yake chini ya nira ya Nebukadreza mfalme wa Babeli—nitaliadhibu taifa hilo kwa upanga, njaa, na pigo—hili ni tangazo la Yahwe—hadi nitakapokuwa nimewateketeza kwa mkono wake.
9 But do ye not hearken to your prophets, and to your diviners, and to your dreamers, and to your enchanters, and to your sorcerers, who speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon;
Kwa hiyo msiwasikilize manabii wenu, wabashiri wenu, waonaji wenu, ndoto zenu, watambuzi wenu, ambao wamekuw wakisema kwenu na kusema, ' Msimtumikie mfalme wa Babeli.'
10 For falsehood do they prophesy unto you, in order to remove you far from your land; and that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish.
Kwa maana wanatabiri uongo kwenu ili kuwapeleka mbali na nchi zenu, kwa maana nitawapeleka mbali, na mtakufa.
11 But the nation that will bring its neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, —that one will I then let remain quietly in its own land, saith the Lord: and it shall till it, and dwell therein.
Lakini taifa ambalo wataweka shingo zao chini ya nira ya mfalme wa Babeli na kumtumikia, nitawaruhusu kupumzika katika nchi yao—hili ni tangazo la Yahwe—na watailima na kufanya nyumba zao humo.””
12 And unto Zedekiah the king of Judah did I speak in accordance with all these words, saying, Bring your neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, that ye may live.
Kwa hiyo nilisema kwa Sedekia mfalme wa Yuda na kumpa ujumbe huu, “Ziwekeni shingo zenu chini ya nira ya mfalme wa Babeli na mtumikieni yeye na watu wake, na mtaishi.
13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
Kwa nini mfe—wewe na watu wako—kwa upanga, njaa, na pigo, kama vile nilivyotangaza kuhusu taifa ambalo watapuuza kumtumikia mfalme wa Babeli?
14 And do ye not hearken unto the words of the prophets that say unto you, as followeth, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon; for a falsehood do they prophesy unto you.
Msisikilize maneno ya manabii wanaozungumza kwenu na kusema, 'Msimtumikie mfalme wa Babeli', kwa maana wanatabiri uongo kwenu.
15 For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy in my name falsely: in order that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.
'Kwa maana mimi sikuwatuma—hili ni tangazo la Yahwe—kwa maana wanatabiri uongo katika jina langu ili kwamba niwafukeze inje na muangamie, ninyi nyote na manabii wanaotabiri kwenu.”'
16 And unto the priests and unto all this people did I speak, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Do not hearken to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord shall be brought again from Babylon now speedily; for a falsehood do they prophesy unto you.
Nilitangaza hili kwa makuhani na watu wote na kusema, “Yahwe anasema hivi: Msisikilize maneno ya manabii wanaotabiri kwenu na kusema, 'Angalia! Vyombo vya nyumba ya Yahwe vinarudishwa kutoka Babeli sasa hivi!' Wanatabiri uongo kwenu.
17 Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, that ye may live: wherefore should this city become a ruin?
Msiwasikilize. Mtamtumikia mfalme wa Babeli na mtaishi. Kwa nini mji huu uangamizwe?
18 And if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession with the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, may not be carried to Babylon.
Kama ni manabii, na kama neno la Mungu limekuja kwao kweli, basi wamwombe Yahwe wa majeshi asivipeleke Babeli vyombo vilivyosalia katika nyumba, nyumba ya mfalme wa Yuda, na Yerusalemu.
19 For thus hath said the Lord of hosts of the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,
Yahwe wa majeshi anasema hivi kuhusu zile nguzo, bahari, na kitako, na vyombo vyote vilivyosalia katika mji huu—
20 Which Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon did not take away, when he carried away into exile Jechonyah the son of Jehoyakim the king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
vyombo ambavyo Nebukadreza mfalme wa Babeli hakuvichukua wakati alipomchukua Yekonia mwana wa Yehoyakimu, mfalme wa Yuda, katika utumwa kutoka Yerusalemu kwenda Babeli pamoja na wakuu wote wa Yuda na Yerusalemu.
21 [Yea] for thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem,
Yahwe wa majeshsi, Mungu wa Israeli, anasema hivi kuhusu vyombo vilivyosalia katika nyumba ya Yahwe, nyumba ya mfalme wa Yuda, na Yerusalemu,
22 Unto Babylon shall they be carried, and there shall they remain until the day that I think of them, saith the Lord, when I will bring them up, and restore them to this place.
'Vitaletwa Babeli, na vitabaki huko hadi siku niyovipangia kutimia—hili ni tangazo la Yahwe—kisha nitavileta na kuvirudisha kataika sehemu hii.”
