Jeremiah 25
1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, which is the first year of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon;
Das Wort, welches an Jeremia über das ganze Volk Juda erging im vierten Jahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, (das ist das erste Jahr Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel),
2 Which Jeremiah the prophet spoke concerning all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
das der Prophet Jeremia an das ganze jüdische Volk und an alle Einwohner von Jerusalem richtete, indem er sprach:
3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah, even until this day, that is now three and twenty years, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
Seit dem dreizehnten Jahr Josias, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, bis zum heutigen Tage, diese dreiundzwanzig Jahre hindurch ist das Wort des HERRN an mich ergangen, und ich habe zu euch geredet, frühe und fleißig habe ich geredet, aber ihr habt nicht gehört.
4 And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, making [them] rise early and sending [them]; but ye have not hearkened, and have not inclined your ear to hear.
Dazu hat der HERR alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, immer wieder zu euch gesandt, aber ihr wolltet nicht hören und neigtet eure Ohren nicht, auf das zu hören, was sie sagten:
5 They said, O do turn away every one from his evil way, and from the wrongfulness of your doings; and ye shall remain in the land that the Lord hath given unto you and to your fathers, for from eternity to eternity;
Kehrt doch um ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege und von euren schlimmen Taten, damit ihr bleiben könnt in dem Lande, welches der HERR euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit!
6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to bow down to them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not injure you.
Und wandelt nicht fremden Göttern nach, dienet ihnen nicht, verehret sie nicht und reizet mich nicht zum Zorn mit dem Werk eurer Hände, so will ich euch nichts Böses tun!
7 Yet have ye not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord: in order that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your own hands to your own injury.
Aber ihr habt mir nicht gehorcht, spricht der HERR, sondern habt mich erzürnt durch eurer Hände Werk, euch selbst zum Schaden.
8 Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Because ye have not hearkened to my words:
Darum spricht der HERR der Heerscharen also:
9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and to Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them over this land, and over its inhabitants, and over all these nations round about, and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a derision, and perpetual ruins.
Weil ihr meinen Worten nicht gehorcht habt, siehe, so sende ich nach allen Geschlechtern des Nordens und hole sie herbei, auch nach meinem Knecht Nebukadnezar, dem König zu Babel, und lasse sie kommen über dieses Land und über alle seine Bewohner und über alle diese Völker ringsum, und ich will sie dem Bann preisgeben und sie zum Entsetzen und zum Gespött und zu ewigen Wüsteneien machen
10 And I will banish from them the voice of gladness, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the mill, and the light of the lamp.
und will daselbst verstummen lassen das Jubel und Freudengeschrei, die Stimme des Bräutigams und der Braut; keine Mühle soll mehr klappern und die Lampe nicht mehr leuchten;
11 And this whole land shall become a ruin and an [object of] astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
und dieses ganze Land soll zur Wüste und zum Entsetzen werden, und diese Völker sollen dem babylonischen König dienen, siebzig Jahre lang.
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are completed, that I will visit on the king of Babylon, and on that nation, saith the Lord, their iniquity, and on the land of the Chaldeans, and will change it into perpetual desolations.
Wenn dann die siebzig Jahre vollendet sind, so will ich am babylonischen König und an jenem Volk ihre Schuld heimsuchen, spricht der HERR, auch am Lande der Chaldäer, und will es zur ewigen Wüste machen.
13 And I will bring over that land all my words which I have spoken concerning it, all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied concerning all the nations.
Und ich will über jenes Land alle meine Worte bringen, welche ich wider dasselbe geredet habe, alles, was in diesem Buche geschrieben steht, was der Prophet Jeremia über alle Heiden geweissagt hat.
14 For when many nations and great kings shall have made them also serve: I will then recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their own hands.
Denn auch sie werden in die Knechtschaft großer Völker und mächtiger Könige geraten, und ich will ihnen nach ihren Taten und nach den Werken ihrer Hände vergelten.
15 For thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel unto me, Take the cup of the wine of this fury out of my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send thee to drink it.
Denn also sprach der HERR, der Gott Israels, zu mir: Nimm diesen Kelch voll Glutwein aus meiner Hand und tränke damit alle Völker, zu welchen ich dich sende,
16 And they shall drink, and reel about, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
daß sie trinken und taumeln und voll werden vor dem Schwert, das ich unter sie sende!
17 And I took the cup out of the hand of the Lord, and caused to drink all the nations, unto whom the Lord had sent me:
Da nahm ich den Kelch aus der Hand des HERRN und tränkte damit alle Völker, zu welchen der HERR mich sandte,
18 Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its princes, to make them a ruin, an astonishment, a derision, and a curse; as it is this day;
nämlich Jerusalem und die Städte Judas, ihre Könige und ihre Fürsten, um sie zur Einöde, zum Entsetzen, zum Gespött und zum Fluch zu machen, wie sie es heute sind;
19 Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
auch den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, samt seinen Knechten, seinen Fürsten und seinem ganzen Volk,
20 And all the confederated nations, and all the kings of the land of 'Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gazzah, and 'Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
dazu das ganze Völkergemisch und alle Könige des Landes Uz und alle Könige des Philisterlandes, Askalon und Gaza, Ekron und den Überrest von Asdod;
21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of 'Ammon;
Edom und Moab und die Kinder Ammon;
22 And all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
auch die Könige von Tyrus und alle Könige von Zidon, und die Könige der Inseln jenseits des Meeres;
23 Dedan, and Thema, and Buz, and all those that have their hair cut round;
Dedan, Thema und Bus und alle, die den Bart stutzen,
24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the confederated nations that dwell in the wilderness;
alle Könige Arabiens und alle Könige des Völkergemisches, die in der Wüste wohnen;
25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of 'Elam, and all the kings of Media;
alle Könige von Simri und alle Könige von Elam samt allen Königen von Medien;
26 And all the kings of the north, that are far and that are near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth; and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
dazu alle Könige des Nordens, die nahen und die fernen, einen wie den andern, kurz, alle Könige der Erde, die auf dem Erdboden wohnen, und der König von Sesach soll nach ihnen trinken!
27 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Drink ye, and become drunken, and vomit, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword, which I am sending among you.
Und du sollst zu ihnen sagen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Trinket und werdet trunken und speiet aus und fallet also hin, ohne wieder aufzustehen vor dem Schwert, das ich unter euch senden werde!
28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup of thy hand to drink, that thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Ye must certainly drink;
Sollten sie sich aber weigern, den Kelch aus deiner Hand zu nehmen und daraus zu trinken, so sollst du zu ihnen sagen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Ihr müßt dennoch trinken!
29 For lo, on the city which is called by my name, I begin to inflict evil, and ye will remain utterly unpunished? Ye shall not remain unpunished; for a sword am I calling up over all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.
Denn seht, bei der Stadt, die nach meinem Namen genannt ist, fange ich an, Übles zu tun, und ihr solltet ungestraft bleiben? Ihr sollt nicht ungestraft bleiben, sondern ich rufe das Schwert über alle Bewohner der Erde, spricht der HERR der Heerscharen.
30 But thou, do thou prophesy concerning them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord will cry aloud from on high, and from his holy habitation will he send forth his voice; he will cry out very loudly over his habitation; the vintner's call, as they that tread out the grapes, will he lift up against all the inhabitants of the earth.
Und du sollst ihnen alle diese Worte weissagen und zu ihnen sagen: Der HERR wird von der Höhe herab brüllen und von seiner heiligen Wohnung her seine Stimme erschallen lassen; er wird laut brüllen über seine Aue hin, ein Lied wie die Keltertreter wird er anstimmen über alle Bewohner der Erde.
31 A tumultuous noise cometh even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he holdeth judgment over all flesh: the wicked, —these he giveth up to the sword, saith the Lord.
Es dringt ein Lärm bis an die Enden der Erde; denn der HERR hat einen Rechtsstreit mit den Heiden, er hält Gericht mit allem Fleisch, die Gottlosen übergibt er dem Schwert, spricht der HERR.
32 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil goeth forth from nation to nation, and a great storm-wind waketh up from the farthest ends of the earth.
So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Siehe, es geht Unglück aus von einem Volk zum andern, und ein gewaltiger Sturm erhebt sich von den Enden der Erde her,
33 And the slain of the Lord shall be on that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, nor gathered up, nor buried; they shall be as dung upon the surface of the ground.
und es werden an jenem Tage die Erschlagenen des HERRN daliegen von einem Ende der Erde bis zum andern; sie werden nicht beklagt, nicht gesammelt und nicht begraben werden; zu Dünger auf dem Lande sollen sie werden.
34 Wail, ye shepherds, and cry; and roll yourselves about [in the dust], ye leaders of the flocks; for full are your days for you to be slaughtered, and I will scatter you; and you shall fall like a costly vessel.
Heulet, ihr Hirten, und schreiet, wälzet euch in Asche, ihr Beherrscher der Herde! Denn nun ist eure Zeit da, daß man euch schlachte, und ihr sollt zerschmettert und hingeworfen werden wie kostbares Geschirr.
35 And lost shall be the place of refuge for the shepherds, and the escape for the leaders of the flocks to escape.
Da gibt es keine Zuflucht mehr für die Hirten und kein Entrinnen für die Beherrscher der Herde.
36 There is the voice of the cry of anguish of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leaders of the flocks; for the Lord hath devastated their pasture.
Man hört die Hirten schreien und die Beherrscher der Herde heulen, weil der HERR ihre Weide verwüstet hat,
37 And in silent desolation lie the pasture-lands of peace, because of the fierceness of the anger of the Lord.
und weil die Auen des Friedens verwüstet sind von der Zornglut des HERRN.
38 He hath forsaken his covert, like the young lion; for their land is become desolate, because of the fierceness of the wasting [sword], and because of the fierceness of his anger.
Er hat wie ein Löwe sein Dickicht verlassen, also, daß ihr Land zur Wüste geworden ist vor seinem grausamen Schwert und vor der Glut seines Zornes.
