Jeremiah 25
1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, which is the first year of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon;
Das Wort, das an Jeremias über das ganze Volk Juda erging im vierten Jahre des Judakönigs Jojakim, des Josiassohns, das ist im ersten Jahre des Babelkönigs Nebukadrezar,
2 Which Jeremiah the prophet spoke concerning all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
das Jeremias, der Prophet, dem ganzen Volke Juda und an alle Einwohner Jerusalems verkündet:
3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah, even until this day, that is now three and twenty years, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
"Vom dreizehnten Jahr des Ammonssohns und Judakönigs Josias bis auf diesen Tag, nun dreiundzwanzig Jahre lang, erging das Wort des Herrn an mich. Und ich sprach unermüdlich zu euch; ihr aber hörtet nicht darauf.
4 And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, making [them] rise early and sending [them]; but ye have not hearkened, and have not inclined your ear to hear.
All seine Diener, die Propheten, hat unablässig euch der Herr gesandt. Ihr aber hörtet nicht darauf, noch neigtet ihr das Ohr zum Hören:
5 They said, O do turn away every one from his evil way, and from the wrongfulness of your doings; and ye shall remain in the land that the Lord hath given unto you and to your fathers, for from eternity to eternity;
'Kehrt um, ein jeglicher von seinem schlimmen Weg, von eurem bösen Treiben! Dann dürft ihr in dem Land für alle Zeit verbleiben, das euch und euren Vätern einst der Herr verliehen. -
6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to bow down to them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not injure you.
Lauft nicht den andern Göttern nach, sie zu verehren, sie anzubeten! Verdrießt mich nicht mit eurer Hände Werk! Dann will ich euch nicht wehe tun.
7 Yet have ye not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord: in order that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your own hands to your own injury.
Ihr aber höret nicht auf mich,' ein Spruch des Herrn, 'verdrießet mich durch eurer Hände Werk euch zum Verderben.'
8 Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Because ye have not hearkened to my words:
Deshalb spricht so der Herr der Heeresscharen: 'Weil ihr auf meine Worte nicht gehört,
9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and to Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them over this land, and over its inhabitants, and over all these nations round about, and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a derision, and perpetual ruins.
hol ich des Nordens Sippen alle her', ein Spruch des Herrn, 'zum Babelkönig, meinem Knecht Nebukadrezar. Ich laß sie gegen dieses Land, seine Bewohner und gegen alle Völker ringsum ziehen und banne sie und mache sie zum Spott und Schrecken und zu ewiger Verödung.
10 And I will banish from them the voice of gladness, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the mill, and the light of the lamp.
Aus ihnen banne ich des Lachens und der Lust Gejohle, den Sang des Bräutigams, den Brautgesang, der Mühle Lärm, der Lampe Licht.
11 And this whole land shall become a ruin and an [object of] astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
So wird dies ganze Land zur Wüste und zur Öde, und diese Völker müssen Babels König dienstbar sein an siebzig Jahre.
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are completed, that I will visit on the king of Babylon, and on that nation, saith the Lord, their iniquity, and on the land of the Chaldeans, and will change it into perpetual desolations.
Doch sind erfüllt die siebzig Jahre, dann such ich heim den Babelkönig und auch jenes Volk', ein Spruch des Herrn, 'und strafe ihre Missetat an der Chaldäer Land und mache es zur ewigen Wüste.
13 And I will bring over that land all my words which I have spoken concerning it, all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied concerning all the nations.
Ich lasse kommen über dieses Land all meine Drohungen, die ich dawider ausgesprochen, alles, was in diesem Buch geschrieben steht, was über alle Völker Jeremias prophezeit.
14 For when many nations and great kings shall have made them also serve: I will then recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their own hands.
Auch diese werden großen Völkern untertan und großen Königen, und so vergelte ich auch ihnen je nach ihrem Tun und ihrer Hände Werk.'"
15 For thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel unto me, Take the cup of the wine of this fury out of my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send thee to drink it.
Denn also sprach der Herr, Gott Israels, zu mir: "Aus meiner Hand nimm diesen Zornweinbecher und reiche ihn zum Trinken allen Völkern, zu denen ich dich sende!
16 And they shall drink, and reel about, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
Sie sollen trinken, taumeln, tollen im Angesicht des Schwertes, das ich mitten unter sie entsende."
17 And I took the cup out of the hand of the Lord, and caused to drink all the nations, unto whom the Lord had sent me:
Ich nehme aus der Hand des Herrn den Becher und reiche ihn zum Trinken all den Völkern, zu denen mich der Herr gesandt,
18 Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its princes, to make them a ruin, an astonishment, a derision, and a curse; as it is this day;
Jerusalem und Judas andern Städten und ihren Königen und Fürsten, um diese der Verwüstung und Verheerung, dem Hohn und der Verwünschung preiszugeben, wie es heute ist.
19 Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
Hernach dem Pharao, Ägyptens König, seinen Dienern und seinen Fürsten, seinem ganzen Volke
20 And all the confederated nations, and all the kings of the land of 'Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gazzah, and 'Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
und ganz Arabien und allen Königen des Landes Us und allen Königen des Landes der Philister Und Askalon und Gaza, Akkaron, dem Reste Asdods
21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of 'Ammon;
und Edom, Moab und den Ammonitern
22 And all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
und allen Königen von Tyrus und allen Königen von Sidon und allen Königen der Küstenländer, die überm Meere lagern,
23 Dedan, and Thema, and Buz, and all those that have their hair cut round;
Dedan, Tema, Bus und allen mit gestutztem Haar
24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the confederated nations that dwell in the wilderness;
und allen Königen Arabiens und all den Königen Arabiens, die in der Wüste wohnen,
25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of 'Elam, and all the kings of Media;
und allen Königen von Gamir und allen Königen von Elam und allen Königen von Medien
26 And all the kings of the north, that are far and that are near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth; and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
und allen Königen des Nordens, den nahen wie den fernen, kurz allen Königreichen auf der Welt, die auf der Erde sind. Nach ihnen aber muß der König Sesaks trinken.
27 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Drink ye, and become drunken, and vomit, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword, which I am sending among you.
"Zu ihnen sprich dabei: So spricht der Heeresscharen Herr, Gott Israels: 'Trinkt doch! Berauscht euch! Speit! Stürzt hin! Steht nimmer auf vorm Schwert, das ich in eure Reihen sende!'
28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup of thy hand to drink, that thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Ye must certainly drink;
Und sollten sie sich weigern, aus deiner Hand den Kelch zum Trinken anzunehmen, dann sprich zu ihnen: Also spricht der Heeresscharen Herr: 'Ihr müsset trinken!
29 For lo, on the city which is called by my name, I begin to inflict evil, and ye will remain utterly unpunished? Ye shall not remain unpunished; for a sword am I calling up over all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.
Ich mache bei der Stadt, die meinen Namen trägt, den Anfang mit den Strafen. Ihr aber wolltet frei ausgehen? Nein! Ich rufe gegen alle Erdbewohner ein Schwert auf.'" Ein Spruch des Herrn der Heeresscharen.
30 But thou, do thou prophesy concerning them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord will cry aloud from on high, and from his holy habitation will he send forth his voice; he will cry out very loudly over his habitation; the vintner's call, as they that tread out the grapes, will he lift up against all the inhabitants of the earth.
"Künd ihnen alles dies! So sprich zu ihnen: 'Von oben brüllt der Herr; von seinem heiligen Sitze donnert er. Gar furchtbar brüllt er über sein Gefilde, er jauchzt wie Keltertreter, singt wider alle Erdbewohner.
31 A tumultuous noise cometh even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he holdeth judgment over all flesh: the wicked, —these he giveth up to the sword, saith the Lord.
Bis an den Erdrand dringt das Tosen; der Herr hat mit den Heidenvölkern Streit. Mit allem Fleische geht er ins Gericht; dem Schwert gibt er die Frevler preis.'" Ein Spruch des Herrn.
32 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil goeth forth from nation to nation, and a great storm-wind waketh up from the farthest ends of the earth.
So spricht der Heeresscharen Herr: "Von Volk zu Volk schreitet das Unheil, erwacht ein großer Sturm vom Rand der Erde."
33 And the slain of the Lord shall be on that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, nor gathered up, nor buried; they shall be as dung upon the surface of the ground.
An jenem Tage liegen die vom Herrn Erschlagenen von einem Erdrand bis zum andern da; sie werden nicht beklagt, nicht aufgehoben, nicht begraben; dem Acker dienen sie als Dünger.
34 Wail, ye shepherds, and cry; and roll yourselves about [in the dust], ye leaders of the flocks; for full are your days for you to be slaughtered, and I will scatter you; and you shall fall like a costly vessel.
"Ihr Hirten, weinet! Schreit! Im Staube wälzt euch, ihr, der Herde Führer! Denn eure Tage sind erfüllt zur Schlachtung; zerstückelt werdet ihr. Ihr liegt in Scherben wie ein zerbrechliches Gefäß.
35 And lost shall be the place of refuge for the shepherds, and the escape for the leaders of the flocks to escape.
Und für die Hirten gibt es keine Zuflucht mehr und kein Entrinnen für die Führer.
36 There is the voice of the cry of anguish of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leaders of the flocks; for the Lord hath devastated their pasture.
Horch, wie die Hirten schreien, die Herdenführer heulen! Der Herr verwüstet ihren Weideplatz.
37 And in silent desolation lie the pasture-lands of peace, because of the fierceness of the anger of the Lord.
Vernichtet sind die friedlichen Gefilde vor diesem Flammenzorn des Herrn.
38 He hath forsaken his covert, like the young lion; for their land is become desolate, because of the fierceness of the wasting [sword], and because of the fierceness of his anger.
Wie hat der Löwe seinen Schlupf verlassen? Denn eine Wüste ward ihr Land vom Zorn des Fürchterlichen, vor seinem Flammenzorn."
