Jeremiah 23
1 Woe unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the flocks of my pasture! saith the Lord.
“என்னுடைய மேய்ச்சலின் செம்மறியாடுகளை அழித்துச் சிதறடிக்கிற மேய்ப்பர்களுக்கு ஐயோ கேடு” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
2 Therefore thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel concerning the shepherds that feed my people, Ye have scattered my flocks, and driven them away, and have not taken care of them: now, behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.
இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா என் மக்களை மேய்க்கிற மேய்ப்பர்களுக்குச் சொல்வது இதுவே: நீங்கள் என்னுடைய மந்தையைக் கவனிக்காமல் அவர்களைச் சிதறப்பண்ணி துரத்திவிட்டீர்கள். நீங்கள் செய்த தீமைக்காக இப்பொழுது நான் உங்கள்மேல் தண்டனையைக் கொண்டுவருவேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
3 And I will indeed gather the remnant of my flock together out of all the countries whither I have driven them; and I will bring them back again to their folds: and they shall be fruitful and multiply.
என் மந்தையில் மீதியானவர்களை நான் துரத்திவிட்ட நாடுகளிலிருந்து நானே அவர்களைக் கூட்டிச்சேர்த்து, அவர்களைத் திரும்பவும் அவர்களுடைய மேய்ச்சலிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவருவேன். அங்கே அவர்கள் செழித்து, எண்ணிக்கையில் அதிகரிப்பார்கள்.
4 And I will raise up over them shepherds who shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, and none of them shall be missing, saith the Lord.
அவர்களைப் பராமரிக்கும் மேய்ப்பர்களை அவர்களுக்காக எழுப்புவேன். அவர்கள் இனி பயப்படவோ, பயமுறுத்தப்படவோ, ஒருவராவது தொலைந்துபோகவோ மாட்டார்கள் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
5 Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will raise up unto David a righteous sprout, and he shall reign as king, and prosper, and he shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.
நாட்கள் வருகின்றன என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். அப்பொழுது தாவீதின் வம்சத்திலிருந்து ஒரு நீதியின் கிளையை எழுப்புவேன். அவர் ஞானமாய் ஆளுகை செய்யும் ஒரு அரசன். அவர் நாட்டில் நீதியையும், நியாயத்தையும் செய்வார்.
6 In his days shall Judah be helped, and Israel shall dwell in safety: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord is our righteousness.
அவருடைய நாட்களில் யூதா காப்பாற்றப்படும். இஸ்ரயேல் பாதுகாப்புடன் வாழும். யெகோவாவே நமது நேர்மை என்ற பெயரால் அவர் அழைக்கப்படுவார்.
7 Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when they shall no more say, As the Lord liveth, who hath brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
“எனவே மீண்டும் நாட்கள் வருகின்றன” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “அப்பொழுது மக்கள் இனியொருபோதும், ‘எகிப்திலிருந்து இஸ்ரயேலரைக் கொண்டுவந்த யெகோவா இருப்பது நிச்சயமெனில்’ என ஆணையிடமாட்டார்கள்.
8 But, As the Lord liveth, who hath brought up and who hath led forth the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and out of all countries whither I had driven them: and they shall dwell in their own land.
அதற்குப் பதிலாக அவர்கள், ‘இஸ்ரயேலின் வழித்தோன்றல்களை வட நாட்டிலிருந்தும், அவர் நாடுகடத்திய எல்லா நாடுகளிலிருந்தும் கொண்டுவந்த யெகோவா இருப்பது நிச்சயம்போல’ என்றே ஆணையிடுவார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் தங்கள் சொந்த நாட்டில் குடியிருப்பார்கள்.”
9 To the prophets—Broken is my heart within me; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a person whom wine hath overcome, because of the Lord, and because of his holy words.
நீ இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போரைக் குறித்து: என் இருதயம் எனக்குள் நொறுங்குகிறது; என் எல்லா எலும்புகளும் நடுங்குகின்றன. யெகோவாவினாலும் அவருடைய பரிசுத்த வார்த்தையினாலும் நான் ஒரு மதுவெறியனைப் போலானேன். திராட்சை மதுவினால் போதை கொண்டவனைப் போலானேன்.
10 For of adulterers is the land full; for because of false swearing mourneth the land, dried up are the pastures in the wilderness; because their course was for evil, and their strength was for injustice.
விபசாரம் செய்பவர்களால் நாடு நிரம்பியிருக்கிறது. சாபத்தினால் நாடு வறண்டு கிடக்கின்றது. பாலைவனத்து மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்கள் வாடியிருக்கின்றன. இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போர் தீய வழிகளைப் பின்பற்றி தங்கள் அதிகாரத்தை அநீதியாக உபயோகிக்கிறார்கள்.
11 For both prophet and priest are hypocrites: yea, in my own house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord.
“இறைவாக்கு உரைப்பவனும், ஆசாரியனுமாகிய இருவரும் இறைவனை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாதவர்களாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களுடைய கொடுமையை என்னுடைய ஆலயத்திலும் நான் காண்கிறேன்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
12 Therefore shall their way be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be pushed forward, and fall thereon; for I will bring upon them evil, the year of their punishment, saith the Lord.
“அதனால் அவர்களுடைய வழி சறுக்கலாகிவிடும்; அவர்கள் இருளுக்குள் துரத்தப்பட்டு விழுவார்கள். அவர்கள் தண்டிக்கப்படும் வருடத்தில், நான் அவர்கள்மேல் பேராபத்தைக் கொண்டுவருவேன்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
13 And on the prophets of Samaria have I seen absurdity: they prophesied by Ba'al, and misled my people Israel.
“சமாரியாவின் இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போர் மத்தியில் வெறுக்கத்தக்க இக்காரியத்தைக் கண்டேன்: அவர்கள் பாகாலைக் கொண்டு இறைவாக்கு சொல்லி, என் மக்களான இஸ்ரயேலரை தவறாய் வழிநடத்தினார்கள்.
14 But on the prophets of Jerusalem have I seen a horrible thing; they commit adultery, and walk in falsehood; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that not one of these doth return from his wickedness: they are become unto me all of them as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.
நான் எருசலேமின் இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போர் மத்தியிலுங்கூட மோசமான ஒரு செயலைக் கண்டேன். அவர்கள் விபசாரம் செய்கிறார்கள். உண்மை வழியில் வாழவில்லை. ஒருவனும் தனது கொடுமையைவிட்டுத் திரும்பாதபடி, தீயவரின் கைகளைப் பெலப்படுத்துகிறார்கள். அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் எனக்கு சோதோமைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள். எருசலேம் மக்கள் கொமோராவைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள்.”
15 Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets, Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poison-water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is hypocrisy gone forth over all the land.
ஆகவே சேனைகளின் யெகோவா இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போரைக் குறித்து சொல்வது இதுவே: “அவர்களை நான் கசப்பான உணவை உண்ணச்செய்து, நச்சுத் தண்ணீரையும் குடிக்கச் செய்வேன். ஏனெனில் எருசலேமின் இறைவாக்கினரிடமிருந்தே இறைவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாத தன்மை நாடு முழுவதும் பரவியிருக்கிறது” என்கிறார்.
16 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you, they bring you unto vanity: a vision of their own heart do they ever speak, not out of the mouth of the Lord.
சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போர் சொல்லும் இறைவாக்குகளைக் கேட்க வேண்டாம். அவர்கள் பொய்யான எதிர்பார்ப்பினால் உங்கள் மனதை நிரப்புகிறார்கள். யெகோவாவின் வாயிலிருந்து அல்ல, தங்கள் மனதிலுள்ள சுயதரிசனத்தையே பேசுகிறார்கள்.
17 They say indeed unto those that incense me, The Lord hath spoken, Peace shall ye have; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart, they said, There shall come no evil upon you.
என்னை அவமதிப்போரிடம், ‘உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானம் இருக்கும் என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்’ என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறார்கள். தங்கள் இருதயங்களின் பிடிவாதத்தில் நடப்பவர்கள் எல்லோரையும் பார்த்து, ‘உங்களுக்கு ஒரு தீங்கும் வராது’ என்கிறார்கள்.
18 For who hath stood in the secret counsel of the Lord, that he could perceive and hear his word? who hath listened to his word and heard it?
யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையைக் காணும்படியும், கேட்கும்படியும் யெகோவாவின் ஆலோசனைச் சபையில் அவர்களில் எவன் நின்றான்? அவருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கவனித்துக் கேட்டவன் யார்?
19 Behold, the storm-wind of the Lord is gone forth in fury, yea, a whirling storm: upon the head of the wicked shall it fall grievously.
பாருங்கள், யெகோவாவின் பெருங்காற்றாகிய கொடிய புயல் வெளிப்படும். அது கொடியவர்களின் தலையின்மேல் சுழல் காற்றாய் மோதும்.
20 The anger of the Lord will not return, until he have executed, and until he have fulfilled the purposes of his heart: in the end of days shall ye understand this fully.
யெகோவா தமது இருதயத்திலுள்ள நோக்கங்களை முழுவதுமாக நிறைவேற்றும்வரை அவரது கோபம் தணிவதில்லை. வரும் நாட்களில் இதைத் தெளிவாக விளங்கிக்கொள்வீர்கள்.
21 I had not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I had not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
இந்த இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போரை நான் அனுப்பவில்லை. ஆயினும் அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய செய்திகளுடன் ஓடிவந்திருக்கிறார்கள். நான் அவர்களுடன் பேசவில்லை. அவர்களோ இறைவாக்கு சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்கள்.
22 But if they had stood in my secret counsel, they should have announced my words to my people, and have caused them to turn back from their evil way, and from the wrongfulness of their doings.
ஆனால் அவர்கள் என்னுடைய ஆலோசனைச் சபையில் இருந்திருந்தால், என் மக்களுக்கு என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளையே அறிவித்திருப்பார்கள். என்னுடைய மக்களை அவர்களுடைய தீயவழிகளிலிருந்தும், செயல்களிலிருந்தும் திருப்பியிருப்பார்கள்.
23 Am I a God for those near at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God for those who are afar off?
“நான் அருகில் இருக்கும் இறைவன் மட்டுமோ? தூரத்தில் நடப்பதை அறியாத இறைவனோ?” என யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்.
24 If a man should hide himself in secret places should I not then see him? saith the Lord. Do I not fill the heavens and the earth? saith the Lord.
“நான் காணாதபடிக்கு யாராவது தன்னை மறைவிடங்களில் ஒளித்துக்கொள்ள முடியுமா?” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “வானத்தையும், பூமியையும் நிரப்புகிறவர் நான் அல்லவோ?” என யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
25 I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy falsely in my name, saying, I have dreamt, I have dreamt.
“இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போர் என் பெயரில் பொய்களை இறைவாக்காகச் சொல்கிறதை நான் கேட்டிருக்கிறேன். அவர்கள், ‘நான் கனவு கண்டேன்! நான் கனவு கண்டேன்!’ என்கிறார்கள்.
26 How long shall it be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy falsehood? yea, the prophets of the deceit of their own heart, —
இவ்வாறு தங்கள் வஞ்சனையான எண்ணங்களை, இறைவாக்காகக் கூறும் இந்தப் பொய் இறைவாக்கினரின் இருதயங்களில் இது எவ்வளவு காலத்திற்குத் தொடரும்?
27 [How long] do they think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they relate every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for the sake of Ba'al?
என் மக்களின் தந்தையர் பாகால் வழிபாட்டினால் என் பெயரை மறந்தார்கள். அதுபோல, இவர்களும் தாங்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் கூறிக்கொள்ளும் தங்கள் கனவுகள், என் மக்களை என் பெயரை மறக்கும்படி செய்யும் என எண்ணுகிறார்கள்.
28 The prophet that hath had a dream, let him relate his dream; and he that hath received my word, let him speak my word of truth. What hath the straw to do with the corn? saith the Lord.
கனவையுடைய இறைவாக்கினன் தன் கனவைச் சொல்லட்டும். ஆனால் என்னுடைய வார்த்தையை உடையவனோ அதை உண்மையாக கூறட்டும். தானியத்துடன் வைக்கோலுக்கு என்ன வேலை?” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
29 Is not thus my word, like the fire? saith the Lord, and like a hammer that shivereth the rock?
“என்னுடைய வார்த்தை நெருப்பைப் போன்றது அல்லவா? கற்பாறையை துண்டுகளாய் நொறுக்கும் சம்மட்டியைப் போன்றதல்லவா?” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.
“ஆகையால்” யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறதாவது: “ஒருவரிடமிருந்து இன்னொருவர் வார்த்தைகளை எடுத்து, இது யெகோவாவிடமிருந்து வந்தது என்று சொல்லுகிற இறைவாக்கினருக்கு நான் விரோதமாய் இருக்கிறேன்.
31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their own word, and say, [The Lord] saith.
ஆம்” யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறதாவது: “தங்கள் நாக்குகளை அசைத்து, ‘யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்’ என்று சொல்கிற இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போரையும் நான் எதிர்க்கிறேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
32 Behold, I am against those that prophesy with false dreams, saith the Lord, and do relate them, and mislead my people by their falsehoods, and by their vain boasting: while I have not sent them, nor commanded them; and they cannot bring the least profit to this people, saith the Lord.
பொய்யான கனவுகளை இறைவாக்காக கூறுபவருக்கு நான் விரோதமாக இருக்கிறேன்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். “துணிகரமான பொய்களைக் கூறி என் மக்களை தவறாய் வழிநடத்துகிறார்கள்; நானோ அவர்களை அனுப்பவுமில்லை; அவர்களை நியமிக்கவுமில்லை. அவர்களால் இந்த மக்களுக்கு எந்த நன்மையும் இல்லை” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
33 And if this people, or the prophet, or a priest, should ask thee, saying, What is the message of the Lord? then shalt thou say unto them, Because of this “What is the message?” will I even cast you off, saith the Lord.
“இந்த மக்களோ, இறைவாக்கினனோ, ஆசாரியனோ உன்னிடம், ‘யெகோவாவின் வாக்கு என்ன?’ என்று கேட்டால் நீ அவர்களிடம், ‘வாக்கு என்ன? உன்னைக் கைவிட்டு விடுவேன், என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்’ என்று சொல்.
34 And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that will say, “A message of the Lord,” I will even inflict punishment on that man and on his house.
ஒரு இறைவாக்கினனோ, ஆசாரியனோ, வேறு எவனோ, ‘இதுவே யெகோவாவின் வாக்கு’ என்று அதிகாரமாய் சொன்னால் நான் அவனையும், அவன் குடும்பத்தையும் தண்டிப்பேன்.
35 Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, What hath the Lord answered? and, What hath the Lord spoken?
உங்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் நண்பனிடத்திலும், உறவினனிடத்திலும், ‘யெகோவாவின் பதில் என்ன?’ அல்லது ‘யெகோவா என்ன பேசியிருக்கிறார்?’ என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
36 But “A message of the Lord” shall ye not mention any more; for the message cometh indeed to the man of his [prophetic] word; but ye pervert the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God.
ஆனால் நீங்களோ இனிமேலும், ‘யெகோவாவின் பாரம்’ என்று எதையும் சொல்லவேண்டாம். ஏனெனில் ஒவ்வொருவனுடைய சொந்த வார்த்தையும் அவனவனுடைய பாரமாயிருக்கிறது. இவ்விதமாக எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவான வாழும் இறைவனின் வார்த்தைகளை நீங்கள் புரட்டுகிறீர்கள்.
37 Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the Lord answered thee? and, What hath the Lord spoken?
நீங்கள் இறைவாக்கினரிடம் ‘யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுத்த பதில் என்ன?’ அல்லது ‘யெகோவா என்ன பேசியிருக்கிறார்?’ என்றே கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
38 But if ye will say, “A message of the Lord,” then thus saith the Lord, Because ye say this word, “A message of the Lord,” and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, “A message of the Lord:”
‘யெகோவாவின் வாக்கு இதுவே’ என்று நீங்கள் கூறுகிறீர்கள். ஆனாலும் யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: ‘யெகோவாவின் வாக்கு இதுவே என்று நீங்கள் அதிகாரமாய் சொல்லக்கூடாது’ என்று நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்தேன். அப்படியிருந்தும் நீங்கள், ‘யெகோவாவின் வாக்கு இதுவே’ என்ற வார்த்தைகளைப் பயன்படுத்துகிறீர்கள்.
39 Therefore, behold, I am here, and I will tear you completely away, and I will cast you off, and the city that I have given to you and to your fathers, out of my presence;
ஆகையால் நான் நிச்சயமாக உங்களை மறந்து, உங்களுக்கும், உங்கள் தந்தையருக்கும் கொடுத்த பட்டணத்துடன், உங்களையும் என் முன்னின்று தள்ளிவிடுவேன்.
40 And I will lay upon you an everlasting disgrace, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
நான் உங்கள்மேல் நித்திய அவமானத்தை, மறக்கமுடியாத நித்திய வெட்கத்தைக் கொண்டுவருவேன்.”
