Jeremiah 13
1 Thus said the Lord unto me, Go and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it around thy loins, and lay it not in water.
ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझे यूँ फ़रमाया कि “तू जाकर अपने लिए एक कतानी कमरबन्द ख़रीद ले और अपनी कमर पर बाँध, लेकिन उसे पानी में मत भिगो।”
2 So I bought the girdle, according to the word of the Lord, and put it around my loins.
तब मैंने ख़ुदावन्द के कलाम के मुवाफ़िक़ एक कमरबन्द ख़रीद लिया और अपनी कमर पर बाँधा।
3 And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying,
और ख़ुदावन्द का कलाम दोबारा मुझ पर नाज़िल हुआ और उसने फ़रमाया,
4 Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is around thy loins; and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.
कि “इस कमरबन्द को जो तूने ख़रीदा और जो तेरी कमर पर है, लेकर उठ और फ़रात को जा और वहाँ चट्टान के एक शिगाफ़ में उसे छिपा दे।”
5 So I went, and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord has commanded me.
चुनाँचे मैं गया और उसे फ़रात के किनारे छिपा दिया, जैसा ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझे फ़रमाया था।
6 And it came to pass at the end of many days, that the Lord said unto me, Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take from there the girdle, which I commanded thee to hide there.
और बहुत दिनों के बाद यूँ हुआ कि ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझे फ़रमाया, कि उठ, फ़रात की तरफ़ जा और उस कमरबन्द को जिसे तूने मेरे हुक्म से वहाँ छिपा रख्खा है, निकाल ले।
7 And I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and took the girdle from the place where I had hidden it: and, behold, the girdle was spoiled, it was useful for nothing.
तब मैं फ़रात को गया और खोदा और कमरबन्द को उस जगह से जहाँ मैंने उसे गाड़ दिया था, निकाला और देख, वह कमरबन्द ऐसा ख़राब हो गया था कि किसी काम का न रहा।
8 Then came the word of the Lord unto me, saying,
तब ख़ुदावन्द का कलाम मुझ पर नाज़िल हुआ:
9 Thus hath said the Lord, After this manner will I destroy the pride of Judah, and the pride of Jerusalem, which is great.
कि “ख़ुदावन्द यूँ फ़रमाता है कि इसी तरह मैं यहूदाह के ग़ुरूर और येरूशलेम के बड़े ग़ुरूर को तोड़ दूँगा।
10 And this bad people, who refuse to hearken to my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and have followed other gods, to serve them, and to bow down to them, shall even be as this girdle which is useful for nothing.
यह शरीर लोग जो मेरा कलाम सुनने से इन्कार करते हैं और अपने ही दिल की सख़्ती के पैरौ होते, और ग़ैर मा'बूदों के तालिब होकर उनकी इबादत करते और उनको पूजते हैं, वह इस कमरबन्द की तरह होंगे जो किसी काम का नहीं।
11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so had I caused to cleave unto me all the house of Israel and all the house of Judah, saith the Lord, —to become unto me a people, and [to be] for a name, and for praise, and for honor; but they would not hear.
क्यूँकि जैसा कमरबन्द इंसान की कमर से लिपटा रहता है वैसा ही, ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, मैंने इस्राईल के तमाम घराने और यहूदाह के तमाम घराने को लिया कि मुझसे लिपटे रहें; ताकि वह मेरे लोग हों और उनकी वजह से मेरा नाम हो, और मेरी सिताइश की जाए और मेरा जलाल हो; लेकिन उन्होंने न सुना।
12 Therefore shalt thou say unto them this word, Thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and when they will say unto thee, Do we not know full well that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
तब तू उनसे ये बात भी कह दे कि ख़ुदावन्द, इस्राईल का ख़ुदा, यूँ फ़रमाता है कि 'हर एक मटके में मय भरी जाएगी। और वह तुझ से कहेंगे, 'क्या हम नहीं जानते कि हर एक मटके में मय भरी जाएगी?”
13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit after David upon his throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
तब तू उनसे कहना, 'ख़ुदावन्द यूँ फ़रमाता है कि देखो, मैं इस मुल्क के सब बाशिन्दों को, हाँ, उन बादशाहों को जो दाऊद के तख़्त पर बैठते हैं, और काहिनों और नबियों और येरूशलेम के सब बाशिन्दों को मस्ती से भर दूँगा।
14 And I will dash them one against the other, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, so as not to destroy them.
और मैं उनको एक दूसरे पर, यहाँ तक कि बाप को बेटों पर दे मारूँगा, ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, मैं न शफ़कत करूँगा, न रि'आयत और न रहम करूँगा कि उनको हलाक न करूँ।
15 Hear ye, and bend your ear: be not proud; for the Lord hath spoken.
सुनो और कान लगाओ, ग़ुरूर न करो, क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द ने फ़रमाया है।
16 Give unto the Lord your God glory, before he cause darkness, and before your feet strike upon the mountains of twilight, and [where], while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and change it into gross darkness.
ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा की तम्जीद करो, इससे पहले के वह तारीकी लाए और तुम्हारे पाँव गहरे अन्धेरे में ठोकर खाएँ; और जब तुम रोशनी का इन्तिज़ार करो, तो वह उसे मौत के साये से बदल डाले और उसे सख़्त तारीकी बना दे।
17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places because of [your] pride; and my eye shall weep sorely, and run down with tears, because the flock of the Lord is driven away captive.
लेकिन अगर तुम न सुनोगे, तो मेरी जान तुम्हारे ग़ुरूर की वजह से ख़िल्वतख़ानों में ग़म खाया करेगी; हाँ, मेरी आँखें फूट फूटकर रोएँगी और आँसू बहाएँगी, क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द का गल्ला ग़ुलामी में चला गया।
18 Say unto the king and to the queen-mother, Sit down very lowly; for sunk down are your head-attires, the crown of your ornament.
बादशाह और उसकी वालिदा से कह, ''आजिज़ी करो और नीचे बैठो, क्यूँकि तुम्हारी बुज़ुर्गी का ताज तुम्हारे सिर पर से उतार लिया गया है।
19 The cities of the south are shut up, and there is no one to open them: Judah is carried away into exile altogether, it is carried into exile completely.
दख्खिन के शहर बन्द हो गए और कोई नहीं खोलता, सब बनी यहूदाह ग़ुलाम हो गए; सबको ग़ुलाम करके ले गए।
20 Lift up your eyes, and see those that are coming from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy splendid flock?
'अपनी आँखें उठा और उनको जो उत्तर से आते हैं, देख। वह गल्ला जो तुझे दिया गया था, तेरा ख़ुशनुमा गल्ला कहाँ है?
21 What wilt thou say when he will punish thee? since thou hast accustomed them to be over thee captains, and chiefs? shall not pangs seize upon thee, as on a woman in travail?
जब वह तुझ पर उनको मुक़र्रर करेगा जिनको तूने अपनी हिमायत की ता'लीम दी है, तो तू क्या कहेगी? क्या तू उस 'औरत की तरह जिसे पैदाइश का दर्द हो, दर्द में मुब्तिला न होगी?
22 And if thou wilt say in thy heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thy iniquity are thy skirts laid open, thy heels are made bare violently.
और अगर तू अपने दिल में कहे कि यह हादसे मुझ पर क्यूँ गुज़रे? तेरी बदकिरदारी की शिद्दत से तेरा दामन उठाया गया और तेरी एड़ियाँ जबरन बरहना की गईं।
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? [then] may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
हब्शी अपने चमड़े को या चीता अपने दाग़ों को बदल सके, तो तुम भी जो बदी के 'आदी हो नेकी कर सकोगे।
24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away before the wind of the wilderness.
इसलिए मैं उनको उस भूसे की तरह जो वीराने की हवा से उड़ता फिरता है, तितर — बितर करूँगा।
25 This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the Lord; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है कि मेरी तरफ़ से यही तेरा हिस्सा, तेरा नपा हुआ हिस्सा है; क्यूँकि तूने मुझे फ़रामोश करके बेकारी पर भरोसा किया है।
26 Therefore do I also strip up thy skirts over thy face, that thy shame may be seen.
फिर मैं भी तेरा दामन तेरे सामने से उठा दूँगा, ताकि तू बेपर्दा हो।
27 Thy adulteries and thy loud shoutings, the lewdness of thy incest, thy abominations on the hills in the fields have I seen. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! thou wilt not be made clean after ever so long a time.
मैंने तेरी बदकारी, तेरा हिनहिनाना, तेरी हरामकारी और तेरे नफ़रतअंगेज़ काम जो तूने पहाड़ों पर और मैदानों में किए, देखे हैं। ऐ येरूशलेम, तुझ पर अफ़सोस! तू अपने आपको कब तक पाक — ओ — साफ़ न करेगी?
