Jeremiah 1
1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Chilkiyahu, one of the priests that were in 'Anathoth in the land of Benjamin;
Słowa Jeremijasza, syna Helkijaszowego, z kapłanów, którzy byli w Anatot, w ziemi Benjamin
2 To whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,
Do którego stało się słowo Pańskie za dni Jozyjasza, syna Amonowego, króla Judzkiego trzynastego roku królowania jego.
3 And who continued [prophet] in the days of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah the king of Judah, until the carrying away into exile of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
A stało się za dni Joakima, syna Jozyjaszowego, króla Judzkiego, aż do skończenia jedenastego roku Sedekijasza, syna Jozyjasza, króla Judzkiego, aż do przeprowadzenia Jeruzalemczyków, miesiąca piątego,
4 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Stało się mówię, słowo Pańskie do mnie, mówiąc
5 Before yet I had formed thee in thy mother's body I knew thee; and before thou wast yet come forth out of the womb I sanctified thee: a prophet unto the nations did I ordain thee.
Pierwej niżelim cię utworzył w żywocie, znałem cię, a pierwej niżeliś wyszedł z żywota, poświęciłem cię, za proroka narodom dałem cię.
6 And I said, Ah, Lord Eternal! behold, I know not how to speak; for I am [but] a lad.
I rzekłem: Ach, ach panujący Panie! Oto nie umiem mówić, bom jest dziecięciem.
7 And the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am [but] a lad; but to whomsoever I may send thee shalt thou go, and whatsoever I may command thee shalt thou speak.
Ale Pan rzekł do mnie: Nie mów: Jestem dziecięciem, owszem, na wszystko, na co cię poślę, idź, a wszystko, coć rozkażę, mów
8 Be not afraid because of them; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
Nie bój się oblicza ich, bom Ja jest z tobą, abym cię wybawił, mówi Pan.
9 And the Lord stretched forth his hand, and touched [me] therewith on my mouth; and the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
A wyciągnąwszy Pan rękę swoję, dotknął się ust moich, i rzekł mi Pan: Otom dał słowa moje do ust twoich.
10 See, I have appointed thee this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down: to build up, and to plant.
Oto cię dziś postanawiam nad narodami i nad królestwami, abyś wykorzeniał, i psuł, i wytracał, i obalał, i abyś budował i szczepił.
11 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, A staff of all almond-tree do I see.
Potem stało się słowo Pańskie do mnie, mówiąc: Co widzisz Jeremijaszu? I rzekłem: Widzę rózgę migdałową.
12 And the Lord said unto me, Thou hast well seen; for I am watching over my word to perform it.
I rzekł Pan do mnie: Dobrze widzisz: albowiem się Ja pospieszam z słowem swem, abym je wykonał.
13 And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, A seething pot do I see; and the front thereof is turned from the north.
I stało się słowo Pańskie do mnie powtóre, mówiąc: Co widzisz? I rzekłem: Widzę garniec wrzący, a przednia strona jego ku stronie północnej.
14 And the Lord said unto me, Out of the north shall the evil break forth over all the inhabitants of the land,
I rzekł Pan do mnie: Od północy przypadnie złe na wszystkich mieszkających na tej ziemi.
15 For, lo, I will call unto all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and upon all its walls round about, and upon [those of] all the cities of Judah.
Bo oto Ja zawołam wszystkich rodzajów z królestw północnych, mówi Pan, aby przyciągnąwszy każdy z nich, postanowił stolicę swoję w wejściu bram Jeruzalemskich i przy wszystkich murach jego, i przy wszystkich miastach Judzkich.
16 And I will call them to account touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burnt incense unto other gods, and have bowed down unto the works of their own hands.
A tak opowiem sądy moje przeciwko nim dla wszelakiej złości tych, którzy mię opuścili, a kadzili bogom obcym, i kłaniali się robocie rąk swoich.
17 But do thou gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I may command thee; be not discouraged because of them, lest I humble thee before them.
Przetoż ty przepasz biodra swoje, a wstawszy mów do nich wszystko, co Ja tobie rozkazuję, nie bój się ich bym cię snać nie starł przed obliczem ich,
18 But I, behold, I have made of thee this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls over the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.
Bo oto Ja postanawiam cię dziś miastem obronnem, i słupem żelaznym, i murem miedzianym przeciwko tej wszystkiej ziemi, przeciwko królom Judzkim, przeciwko książętom ich, przeciwko kapłanom ich, i przeciwko ludowi tej ziemi;
19 And [although] they fight against thee, they shall not prevail against thee; for with thee am I saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
Którzy walczyć będą przeciwko tobie, ale cię nie przemogą: bom Ja z tobą mówi Pan, abym cię wybawił.
