Isaiah 7
1 And it came to pass in the days of Achaz the son of Jotham, the son of 'Uzziyahu, the king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekach the son of Remalyahu, the king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it; but were not able to make an attack upon it.
Sucedeu, pois, nos dias de Acaz, filho de Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, que, Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém para fazerem guerra contra ela; mas não conseguiram vencer a batalha contra ela.
2 And it was told unto the house of David, saying, Syria is encamped with Ephraim; and his heart trembled, with the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are shaken before the wind.
E avisaram à casa de Davi, dizendo: Os sírios se aliaram aos de Efraim. Então o coração dele se agitou, e também o coração de seu povo, tal como as árvores do bosque que se agitam com o vento.
3 And the Lord said unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Achaz, thou with Shear-yashub thy son, to the end of the aqueduct of the upper pool, on the highway of the washer's field;
Então o SENHOR disse a Isaías: Agora tu e teu filho Sear-Jasube, saí ao encontro de Acaz, ao final do aqueduto do tanque superior, na estrada do campo do lavandeiro.
4 And thou shalt say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, and let thy heart not become faint because of these two stumps of smoking firebrands, before the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remalyahu.
E dize-lhe: Tem cuidado, mas fica calmo; não temas, nem desanime teu coração por causa dessas duas pontas fumegantes de lenha, por causa do ardor da ira de Rezim, dos sírios, e do filho de Remalias.
5 Forasmuch as Syria, [with] Ephraim and the son of Remalyahu, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,
Pois o sírio teve maligno conselho contra ti, com Efraim e [com] o filho de Remalias, dizendo:
6 Let us go up against Judah, and besiege it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up as king in the midst of it the son of Tabeal:
Vamos subir contra Judá, e o aflijamos, e o repartamos entre nós; e façamos reinar como rei no meio dele ao filho de Tabeal.
7 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, It shall not succeed, and it shall not come to pass.
Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Isso não subsistirá, nem sucederá.
8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within sixty and five years shall Ephraim be broken, to be no more a people.
Pois a cabeça da Síria é Damasco, e o cabeça de Damasco Rezim; e dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim será quebrado, e não será [mais] povo.
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remalyahu's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not have permanence.
E a cabeça de Efraim é Samaria, e o cabeça de Samaria é o filho de Remalias. Se não crerdes, não ficareis firmes.
10 And the Lord continued to speak unto Achaz, saying,
E o SENHOR continuou a falar a Acaz, dizendo:
Pede para ti um sinal do SENHOR teu Deus; pede ou de baixo, das profundezas, ou de cima, das alturas. (Sheol h7585)
12 But Achaz said, I will not ask, and I will not tempt the Lord.
Mas Acaz disse: Não pedirei, nem porei teste ao SENHOR.
13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that ye will weary also my God?
Então [Isaías] disse: Ouvi agora, ó casa de Davi: Achais pouco cansardes aos homens, para cansardes também [a paciência] do meu Deus?
14 Therefore will the Lord himself give you a sign: behold, this young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and she shall call his name 'Immanu-el, [God with us].
Por isso o Senhor, ele mesmo, vos dará um sinal: eis que a virgem conceberá, e fará nascer um filho, e ela chamará seu nome Emanuel.
15 Cream and honey shall he eat, so soon as he knoweth to refuse the evil, and to choose the good.
Manteiga e mal ele comerá, pois saberá como rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.
16 For before yet the child shall know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good, shall be forsaken the land, of the kings of which thou feelest dread.
Mas antes que este menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra da qual tendes pavor será desamparada de seus dois reis.
17 The Lord will bring over thee, and over thy people, and over thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim withdrew from Judah, —the king of Assyria.
O SENHOR fará vir sobre ti, sobre o teu povo, e sobre a casa de teu pai, dias que nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Efraim se desviou de Judá, [quando vier] o rei da Assíria.
18 And it shall come to pass on that day, that the Lord will call for the fly that is in the uttermost end of the streams of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
Porque acontecerá que naquele dia o SENHOR assoviará às moscas que estão na extremidade dos rios do Egito, e às abelhas que andam na terra da Assíria.
19 And they shall come, and shall encamp, all of them, in the desolate valleys, and in the clefts of the rocks, and upon all thorn-hedges, and upon all bushes.
E virão, e todas elas pousarão nos vales desabitados, e nas fendas das rochas, e em todos os espinheiros, e em todos os arbustos.
20 On the same day will the Lord shave with the razor that is hired, from among those on the other side of the river, with the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and also the beard shall it entirely remove.
Naquele dia o Senhor raspará com uma navalha alugada dalém do rio, por meio do rei da Assíria, a cabeça e os pelos dos pés; e até a barba será tirada por completo.
21 And it shall come to pass on that day, that a man shall nourish [but] one young cow, and two sheep;
E acontecerá naquele dia, que alguém estará criando uma vaca jovem e duas ovelhas.
22 And it shall happen, that for the abundance of milk which they shall give he shall eat cream; for cream and honey shall eat every one that is left in the midst of the land.
E será que, por causa da abundância de leite que lhe derem, ele comerá manteiga; e comerá manteiga e mel todo aquele que for deixado no meio da terra.
23 And it shall come to pass on that day, that every place, where there are [now] a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels, shall be, —yea, this shall be [given up] to briers and thorns.
Será também naquele dia, que todo lugar em que antes havia mil videiras [do valor] de dez mil moedas de prata, se tornará [lugar] para espinhos e para cardos.
24 With arrows and with bows shall men enter thither; because all the land shall become [covered with] briers and thorns.
Que com arco e flechas ali entrarão; porque toda a terra será espinhos e cardos.
25 And all mountains that are worked with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: and they shall serve for the pasture of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.
E também todos os montes onde costumavam ser cavados com enxadas, não se irá a eles por medo dos espinhos e dos cardos; porém servirão para se enviar bois, e para que gado miúdo pise.
