Isaiah 66
1 Thus hath said the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is there a house that ye can build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
So spricht Jahwe: Der Himmel ist mein Thron und die Erde meiner Füße Schemel. Was wäre das für ein Haus, das ihr mir bauen wolltet, und welcher Ort meine Ruhestätte?
2 For all these things hath my hand made, that all these things came into being, saith the Lord; but upon such a one will I look, upon the poor, and him who is of a contrite spirit, and who trembleth at my word.
Hat doch meine Hand dieses alles gemacht, so daß alles dieses entstand, ist der Spruch Jahwes. Auf solche aber blicke ich hin: auf die, welche elend sind und zerschlagenes Geistes und um meines Wortes willen erzittern.
3 He that slaughtereth the ox, slayeth a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, breaketh the neck of a dog; he that offereth a meat-offering, [offereth] swine's blood; he that burneth incense, blesseth an idol: yea, they have made choice of their own ways, and in their abominations doth their soul delight.
Wer Stiere schlachtet, zugleich aber Menschen erschlägt; wer Schafe opfert, zugleich aber Hunde würgt; wer Speisopfer darbringt, zugleich aber auch Schweinsblut; wer Weihrauch verbrennt, zugleich aber einen Abgott grüßt -: ebenso wie sie zu ihren eigenen Wegen Lust hatten, und an ihren Scheusalen Wohlgefallen haben,
4 So will I also make choice of their misfortune, and what they dread will I bring upon them; because I called, and none did answer; I spoke, and they did not hear; and they did what is evil in my eyes, and that in which I delighted not did they choose.
so will auch ich an ihrer Mißhandlung Lust habenund ihnen bringen, wovor ihnen graut, dieweil ich rief, ohne daß jemand antwortete, redete, ohne daß sie hörten; vielmehr, was mir mißfiel, das thaten sie, und das, woran ich keinen Gefallen habe, hatten sie gern.
5 Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word: Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for the sake of my name, said, “Let the Lord be glorified;” but he will appear to your joy, and they shall be made ashamed.
Hört das Wort Jahwes, ihr, die ihr vor seinem Wort erzittert! Gesagt haben eure Brüder, die euch hassen, euch von sich stoßen um meines Namens willen: “Möge sich nur Jahwe verherrlichen, daß wir eure Freude mit ansehen können!” Aber sie sollen zu Schanden werden.
6 [There is] a voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, the voice of the Lord who rendereth recompense to his enemies.
Horch! Getöse erschallt von der Stadt her; horch! vom Tempel her erschallt die Donnerstimme Jahwes, der heimzahlt seinen Feinden, was sie verübt haben!
7 Before she had travailed she brought forth; before yet her pain was come, she was delivered of a man-child.
Ehe sie kreißte, hat sie geboren; ehe noch eine Wehe sie ankam, ist sie eines Knäbleins genesen.
8 Who hath heard the like? who hath seen such things? shall a land be made to travail in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? that Zion hath travailed, also brought forth her children?
Wer hat je derartiges gehört? wer hat je solches gesehen? Wird denn ein Land zur Welt gebracht an einem Tage, oder ein Volk geboren auf einmal? - daß gekreißt und zugleich auch geboren hat Zion ihre Kinder?
9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord; or shall I who cause to bring forth, now prevent it? saith thy God.
Werde ich etwa das Kind dem Durchbruche nahe bringen, ohne es gebären zu lassen? spricht Jahwe. oder bin ich ein solcher, der gebären läßt und dann zurückhält? spricht dein Gott.
10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be delighted over her, all ye that love her; be highly glad with her, all ye that mourn for her.
Freut euch mit Jerusalem und jubelt über sie, ihr alle, die ihr sie lieb habt; frohlockt mit ihr, ihr alle, die ihr über sie trauert,
11 In order that ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breast of her consolations; in order that ye may sip, and find pleasure from the abundance of her glory.
damit ihr euch satt saugt aus der Brust ihrer Tröstungen, damit ihr schlürft und euch erlabt an der Fülle ihrer Herrlichkeit!
12 For thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will extend to her peace like a river, and like a rapid stream the glory of nations, that ye may suck: upon the arm shall ye be borne, and upon knees shall ye be dandled.
Denn so spricht Jahwe: Fürwahr, ich wende ihr Frieden zu gleich einem Strom und die Herrlichkeit der Völker gleich einem überflutenden Bache, daß ihr euch vollsaugen sollt, und auf der Hüfte werdet ihr getragen und auf den Knieen geliebkost werden.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and in Jerusalem shall ye be comforted.
Wie einen, den seine Mutter tröstet, so will ich euch trösten, und in Jerusalem sollt ihr getröstet werden.
14 And ye shall see this, and your heart shall be glad, and your bones shall flourish like the grass; and then will be known the hand of the Lord on his servants, and he will be indignant toward his enemies.
Und wenn ihr es seht, so wird euer Herz frohlocken, und eure Gebeine werden sprossen wie junges Grün. Da wird sich die Hand Jahwes seinen Knechten offenbaren, aber aufbrausen wird er gegen seine Feinde.
15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and his chariots will be like the storm-wind, to send forth his anger with fury, and his threatening with flames of fire.
Denn fürwahr, Jahwe wird im Feuer daherkommen, und dem Sturmwinde gleichen seine Wagen, daß er in Glut seinen Zorn heimzahle und sein Schelten in Feuerflammen.
16 For by fire will the Lord judge, and by his sword against all flesh: and many shall be the slain of the Lord.
Denn mit Feuer rechtet Jahwe und durch sein Schwert mit jeglichem Fleisch, und die von Jahwe Erschlagenen werden zahlreich sein.
17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves for the gardens, behind one tree in the midst, they who eat the flesh of the swine, and the abomination, and the mouse, together shall they perish, saith the Lord.
Sie, die sich weihen und reinigen für die Gärten hinter dem Einen in der Mitte, dabei aber Fleisch verzehren vom Schwein und von eklem Getier und der Maus: mit ihnen soll es insgesamt ein Ende nehmen! ist der Spruch Jahwes.
18 And I, because of their works and their thoughts, will let it come to pass to gather all the nations and tongues; and they shall come, and shall see my glory.
Ich aber kenne ihr Thun und ihre Gedanken! Und ich werde kommen, zu versammeln alle Völker und Zungen, daß sie kommen und meine Herrlichkeit sehen.
19 And I will display a sign on them, and I will send from them those that escape unto the nations, Tharshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, Thubal, and Javan, the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, and have not seen my glory; and they shall proclaim my glory among the nations.
Und ich werde ein Zeichen unter ihnen thun und etliche von ihnen als Entronnene zu den Völkern senden: nach Tarsis, zu Put und Lud, die den Bogen spannen, zu Thubal und Javan, nach den fernen Inseln, die von meinem Namen nichts vernommen, noch meine Herrlichkeit gesehen haben. Und sie sollen meine Herrlichkeit unter den Völkern kund thun,
20 And they shall bring all your brethren out of all nations as an offering unto the Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring the offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.
damit sie alle eure Brüder aus allen Völkern heimbringen als eine Opfergabe für Jahwe, auf Rossen und auf Wagen und auf Sänften, auf Maultieren und Dromedaren, hinauf zu meinem heiligen Berge, nach Jerusalem, spricht Jahwe, gleichwie die Israeliten die Opfergaben in reinem Gefäße zum Tempel Jahwes zu bringen pflegen.
21 And of them also will I take for priests and for Levites, saith the Lord.
Und auch von jenen werde ich mir welche zu Priestern nehmen, spricht Jahwe.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall have permanence before me, saith the Lord, so shall exist permanently your seed and your name.
Denn gleichwie der neue Himmel und die neue Erde, die ich schaffe, vor mir fortbestehen werden - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, so wird auch euer Geschlecht und euer Name fortbestehen.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to the other new moon, and from one sabbath to the other sabbath, shall all flesh come to prostrate themselves before me, saith the Lord.
Und dereinst an jedem Neumondstage und an jedem Sabbattage wird alles Fleisch kommen, um vor mir anzubeten, spricht Jahwe.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me; for their worm shall not die, nor shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorrence unto all flesh.
Und sie werden hinausgehen und ihre Lust sehen an den Leichnamen der Männer, die von mir abtrünnig geworden sind; denn ihr Wurm wird nicht sterben und ihr Feuer nicht verlöschen, und sie werden ein Abscheu sein für alles Fleisch!
