< Isaiah 64 >

1 Oh that thou mightest rend the heavens, come down: at thy presence would mountains [then] melt away.
Ao, sɛ anka wobɛsunsuane ɔsorosoro mu, asiane aba fam a, ɛno na anka mmepɔ no ho bɛpopo wɔ wʼanim!
2 As fire is kindled on brushwood, as water is made to bubble up by fire—to make thy name known to thy adversaries, that at thy presence nations might tremble!
Sɛdeɛ ogya ma mmabaa dɛre na ɛma nsuo huru no, siane bra fam na ma wʼatamfoɔ nhunu wo din na ma amanaman no ho mpopo wɔ wʼanim!
3 [As] when thou didst fearful deeds which we had not looked for, thou camest down, [while] at thy presence mountains melted away;
Na ɛberɛ a woyɛɛ nneɛma a ɛyɛ nwanwa a yɛanhwɛ anim no, wosiane baa fam na mmepɔ no ho popoo wɔ wʼanim.
4 Yea! what from the beginning of the world men had not heard, not perceived by their hearing; no eye [also] had seen a god beside thee, who could do [the like] for the one that waiteth for him.
Ɛfiri teteete obiara nteeɛ, ɛntwaa obiara aso mu, ani biara nhunuu Onyankopɔn bi sɛ wo, deɛ ɔdi dwuma ma wɔn a wɔtwɛn no.
5 Thou acceptest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou wast wroth, for we had sinned on them continually; and can we thus be saved?
Woboa wɔn a wɔde anigyeɛ yɛ deɛ ɛtene, wɔn a wɔkae wʼakwan. Nanso yɛkɔɔ so yɛɛ bɔne tiaa wo no, wo bo fuiɛ. Na afei ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na woagye yɛn nkwa?
6 And we are become like an unclean man all of us, and like a soiled garment, all our righteousness; and we wither like a leaf all of us; and our iniquities, like the wind, will bear us away.
Yɛn nyinaa ayɛ sɛ obi a ne ho nteɛ, na yɛn tenenee nneyɛɛ nyinaa te sɛ ntomago fi; yɛn nyinaa akusa te sɛ ahahan, na yɛn bɔne pra yɛn kɔ te sɛ mframa.
7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth himself up to lay hold of thee; for thou hast hidden thy face from us, and hast let us melt away, through the force of our iniquities.
Obiara mmɔ wo din, na obiara mpere sɛ ɔbɛso wo mu; ɛfiri sɛ wode wʼanim ahinta yɛn na yɛn bɔne enti woama yɛasɛe.
8 But now, O Lord, our father art thou; we are the clay, and thou our fashioner; and the work of thy hand are we all.
Nanso, Ao Awurade, wo ne yɛn Agya. Yɛyɛ dɔteɛ, na wo ne ɔnwomfoɔ no; yɛn nyinaa yɛ wo nsa ano adwuma.
9 Be not wroth, O Lord, so very greatly, and do not for ever remember [our] iniquity: behold, look, we beseech thee, thy people are we all.
Mma wo bo mfu ntra so, Ao Awurade; nkae yɛn bɔne da biara da. Ao, brɛ wʼani ase hwɛ yɛn, yɛsrɛ wo, ɛfiri sɛ yɛn nyinaa yɛ wo nkurɔfoɔ.
10 Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem, a desolate place.
Wo nkuropɔn kronkron no adane anweatam; Sion mpo ayɛ anweatam, Yerusalem ada mpan.
11 Our holy and beautiful house where our fathers praised thee, is burnt up with fire; and all our costly things are become ruins.
Yɛn asɔredan kronkron a ɛwɔ animuonyam, faako a yɛn nananom yii wo ayɛ no, wɔde ogya ahye, na deɛ ɛsom bo ma yɛn no, abubu.
12 Wilt thou for these things refrain thyself, O Lord? wilt thou be silent, and afflict us so very greatly?
Yei nyinaa akyi, Ao Awurade wo de wo ho bɛkame yɛn anaa? Wobɛkɔ so ayɛ komm atwe yɛn aso aboro so anaa?
