Isaiah 64
1 Oh that thou mightest rend the heavens, come down: at thy presence would mountains [then] melt away.
১আহা, তুমি যদি আকাশ চিরে নিচে নেমে আসতে! তবে পাহাড় পর্বত তোমার উপস্থিতিতে কেঁপে উঠত,
2 As fire is kindled on brushwood, as water is made to bubble up by fire—to make thy name known to thy adversaries, that at thy presence nations might tremble!
২আগুন যেমন ঝোপের ডালপালা জ্বালায়, অথবা আগুন জলকে ফোঁটায়৷ তোমার শত্রুদের কাছে তোমার নাম প্রকাশ হোক, যেন জাতিগুলো তোমার উপস্থিতিতে ভয়ে কাঁপে!
3 [As] when thou didst fearful deeds which we had not looked for, thou camest down, [while] at thy presence mountains melted away;
৩আগে, আমরা যা আশা করিনি তুমি সেই সমস্ত আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করেছিলে, তুমি নেমে এসেছিলে আর পাহাড় পর্বত তোমার উপস্থিতিতে কেঁপে উঠেছিল।
4 Yea! what from the beginning of the world men had not heard, not perceived by their hearing; no eye [also] had seen a god beside thee, who could do [the like] for the one that waiteth for him.
৪সেই প্রাচীনকাল থেকে তোমাকে ছাড়া আর কোন ঈশ্বরের কথা কেউ শোনে নি, চোখেও দেখে নি, যিনি তাঁর জন্য কাজ করে থাকেন যে তাঁর অপেক্ষা করে।
5 Thou acceptest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou wast wroth, for we had sinned on them continually; and can we thus be saved?
৫যারা ভালো কাজ করতে আনন্দ পায়, যারা তোমার পথে স্মরণ করে এবং সেগুলো পালন করে, তুমি তাদের সাহায্য কর৷ যখন আমরা পাপ করেছিলাম তখন তুমি রেগে গিয়েছিলে। তোমার পথে আমরা সব দিন উদ্ধার পাব৷
6 And we are become like an unclean man all of us, and like a soiled garment, all our righteousness; and we wither like a leaf all of us; and our iniquities, like the wind, will bear us away.
৬আমরা প্রত্যেকে অশুচি ব্যক্তির মত হয়েছি আর আমাদের সমস্ত ভালো কাজ নোংরা কাপড়ের মত। আমরা সবাই পাতার মত শুকিয়ে গিয়েছি; আমাদের পাপ বাতাসের মত করে আমাদের উড়িয়ে নিয়ে গেছে।
7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth himself up to lay hold of thee; for thou hast hidden thy face from us, and hast let us melt away, through the force of our iniquities.
৭কেউ আর তোমার নামে ডাকে না, তোমাকে ধরতে কেউ চেষ্টা করে না; কারণ তুমি আমাদের থেকে তোমার মুখ লুকিয়ে রেখেছ এবং আমাদের পাপের কাছে সমর্পণ করেছ।
8 But now, O Lord, our father art thou; we are the clay, and thou our fashioner; and the work of thy hand are we all.
৮তবুও, হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমিই আমাদের পিতা; আমরা মাটি। তুমি কুমার এবং আমরা সবাই তোমার হাতের কাজ।
9 Be not wroth, O Lord, so very greatly, and do not for ever remember [our] iniquity: behold, look, we beseech thee, thy people are we all.
৯হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি এত রাগ কোরো না; আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের পাপ সব দিন স্মরণ কর না। অনুগ্রহ করে, তুমি আমাদের সবার দিকে, তোমার লোকদের দিকে তাকাও।
10 Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem, a desolate place.
১০তোমার পবিত্র শহরগুলো মরুপ্রান্তে পরিণত হয়েছে; সিয়োনও মরুপ্রান্তে পরিণত হয়েছে, যিরূশালেম জনশূন্য হয়েছে।
11 Our holy and beautiful house where our fathers praised thee, is burnt up with fire; and all our costly things are become ruins.
১১আমাদের সেই পবিত্র ও সুন্দর মন্দির, যেখানে আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা তোমার প্রশংসা করতেন, আগুনে ধ্বংস হয়েছে এবং যা কিছু খুবই সুন্দর ছিল সেগুলোও ধ্বংস হয়েছে।
12 Wilt thou for these things refrain thyself, O Lord? wilt thou be silent, and afflict us so very greatly?
১২হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি কি করে এখনও ক্ষান্ত হয়ে আছ? তুমি কি চুপ করে থাকবে ও অবিরত আমাদের লজ্জিত করবে?
