Isaiah 63
1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, dyed red in his garments from Bozrah? this—glorious in his apparel, moving along in the greatness of his strength? “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
Wer ist der, der von Edom herkommt, in hochroten Kleidern von Bozra? Dieser da, prächtig geschmückt mit seinem Gewand, einher schreitend in der Fülle seiner Kraft? Ich bin's, der Gerechtigkeit verheißt, der Macht hat, zu erretten!
2 Why is redness on thy apparel, and [why are] thy garments as of one that treadeth the wine-press?
Warum ist Rot an deinem Gewand und warum sind deine Kleider wie eines, der die Kelter tritt?
3 “I have trodden the vat alone, and of the nations there was no man with me; and I trod them down in my anger, and I trampled on them in my fury; and their blood was sprinkled on my garments, and all my raiments have I stained.
Ja, eine Kelter habe ich getreten, ich allein, und von den Völkern stand mir niemand bei. Ich trat sie nieder in meinem Zorn und stampfte sie zusammen in meinem Grimm, daß ihr Saft an meine Kleider spritzte, und ich alle meine Gewänder besudelte.
4 For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed was come.
Denn einen Rachetag hatte ich im Sinn, und mein Erlösungsjahr war herbeigekommen.
5 And I looked, and there was no one to help, and I was astonished, and there was no one to support; and then my own arm aided me, and my fury—this it was that upheld me.
Und ich blickte aus, aber da war kein Helfer, und staunend schaute ich umher: aber da war kein Unterstützer - da half mir mein Arm, und mein Grimm, der unterstützte mich,
6 And I stamped down nations in my anger, and I made them drunken with my fury, and brought down to the earth their victorious strength.”
so daß ich Völker niedertrat in meinem Zorn und sie zerschmetterte in meinem Grimm und ihren Saft zur Erde rinnen ließ.
7 The kindnesses of the Lord will I mention, the praises of the Lord, in accordance with all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the abundant goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and the abundance of his kindnesses.
Die Gnadenerweisungen Jahwes will ich preisen, die Ruhmestaten Jahwes, entsprechend alle dem, was uns Jahwe erwiesen hat, und die vielfältige Güte gegen das Haus Israels, die er ihnen erwiesen hat gemäß seiner Barmherzigkeit und der Fülle seiner Gnaden,
8 And he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie; and he became to them a Saviour.
indem er sprach: Fürwahr, mein Volk sind sie, Söhne, die nicht trügen werden! Und so ward er ihr Erretter.
9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and he carried them all the days of old.
In aller ihrer Drangsal fühlte er sich bedrängt, und es errettete sie der Engel, in welchem er selbst erschien: vermöge seiner Liebe und Verschonung erlöste er sie, hob sie empor und trug sie alle Tage der Vorzeit.
10 But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit; and he changed himself to become their enemy, and he fought against them.
Sie aber waren widerspenstig und betrübten seinen heiligen Geist; da verwandelte er sich für sie in einen Feind: er selbst bekämpfte sie.
11 Then remembered his people the ancient days of Moses, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put within him his holy Spirit?
Da gedachte sein Volk an die Tage der Vorzeit, an Mose: Wo ist er, der sie heraufführte aus dem Meere samt dem Hirten seiner Herde? Wo ist er, der in ihr Inneres legte seinen heiligen Geist?
12 That displayed by the right hand of Moses his glorious arm; that divided the water before them, to make unto himself an everlasting name?
Er ließ zur Rechten Moses gehn seinen majestätischen Arm er spaltete die Gewässer vor ihnen, um sich einen ewigen Namen zu machen,
13 That led them through the deeps, as a horse through the wilderness, that they should not stumble?
er ließ sie durch Wasserfluten dahinschreiten, wie das Roß durch die Steppe, ohne zu straucheln;
14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, so did the spirit of the Lord bring them to rest; thus didst thou guide thy people, to make unto thyself a glorious name.
gleich dem Vieh, das in den Thalgrund niedersteigt, brachte der Geist Jahwes es zur Ruhe. Also hast du dein Volk geleitet, um dir zu machen einen herrlichen Namen!
15 Look down from heaven, and behold, from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where are thy zeal and thy mights, the yearning of thy bowels and of thy mercy which are now restrained from me?
Blicke vom Himmel herab und schaue nieder, aus deiner heiligen und herrlichen Wohnung! Wo sind dein Eifer und deine Krafterweisungen? Mit der Regung deines Innern und deinem Erbarmen hältst du gegen mich zurück!
16 For thou art our father; for Abraham knoweth nothing of us, and Israel recogniseth us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name.
Fürwahr, du bist unser Vater: denn Abraham weiß nichts von uns, und Israel kennt uns nicht; du, Jahwe, bist unser Vater, “unser Erlöser von alters her” ist dein Name.
17 Why hast thou let us go astray, O Lord, from thy ways, suffered our heart to be hardened against thy fear? Return for the sake of thy servants, the tribes of thy heritage.
Warum lässest du, Jahwe, uns abirren von deinen Wegen, lässest unser Herz sich verstocken, daß es dich nicht mehr fürchte? Kehre wieder um deiner Knechte, um der Stämme willen, die dein Besitztum sind!
18 But a brief space were thy holy people in possession, when our adversaries trod down thy sanctuary.
Auf eine kleine Weile haben sie deinen heiligen Berg in Besitz genommen, haben unsere Feinde dein Heiligtum zertreten.
19 We are become as though we are those over whom thou hast never ruled, over whom thy name hath not been called.
Wir stehen da wie solche, über die du längst nicht mehr geherrscht hast, die nie nach deinem Namen genannt waren.
