Isaiah 61
1 The Spirit of the Lord Eternal is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to announce good tidings unto the meek: he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim to captives Liberty, and to prisoners Release;
El Espíritu del Señor, Yahvé, está sobre mí porque Yahvé me ha ungido, y me ha enviado para evangelizar a los humildes; para vendar a los de corazón quebrantado, para anunciar la libertad a los cautivos y la liberación a los encarcelados;
2 To proclaim a year of favor of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all mourners;
para pregonar el año de la gracia de Yahvé, y el día de la venganza de nuestro Dios; para consolar a todos los afligidos,
3 To grant unto the mourners of Zion, —to give unto them ornament in the place of ashes, oil of gladness in the place of mourning, garments of praise in the place of a grieved spirit; that they may be called, Oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
y alegrar a los que lloran en Sión; para darles una diadema en lugar de ceniza, el óleo de gozo en vez de tristeza y un manto de gloria en lugar del espíritu de abatimiento; y serán llamados encinas de justicia, plantadas por Yahvé para gloria suya.
4 And they shall build up the ancient ruins, desolate places of former times shall they raise up, and they shall renew ruined cities, the desolate places of many generations.
Edificarán las ruinas antiguas, y levantarán los lugares destruidos anteriormente; restaurarán las ciudades arruinadas, las desolaciones de generaciones pasadas.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your ploughmen and your vintners.
Y se presentarán los extranjeros para apacentar vuestros rebaños; y los extraños serán vuestros labradores y viñadores.
6 But ye, ye shall be called, Priests of the Lord; Ministers of our God, shall be said unto you: the wealth of nations shall ye consume, and in their glory shall ye be placed as possessors.
Mas vosotros seréis llamados sacerdotes de Yahvé, y se os dará el nombre de ministros de nuestro Dios; comeréis las riquezas de los gentiles, y os adornaréis con la gloria de ellos.
7 In the place of your twofold shame, —and the confusion of which they loudly complained as their portion: therefore in their land shall they possess a twofold [portion]; everlasting joy shall be granted unto them.
En lugar de vuestra deshonra tendréis doble (honor), y en vez de ignominia (mis siervos) se regocijarán en su porción; por eso poseerán doblada porción en su tierra y será perdurable su gozo.
8 For I the Lord love justice, I hate robbery with burnt-offering: therefore will I give them the recompense of their work in truth, and an everlasting covenant will I make with them.
Porque Yo, Yahvé, amo la justicia y aborrezco la rapiña (consagrada) en holocausto; les daré fielmente su recompensa, y concertaré con ellos un pacto eterno.
9 And among the nations shall their seed be known, and their offspring in the midst of the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed whom the Lord hath blessed.
Su descendencia será conocida entre las naciones, y su linaje en medio de los pueblos; todos cuantos los vieren, reconocerán que son ellos la raza bendita de Yahvé.
10 I will be greatly glad in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, with the mantle of righteousness hath he enveloped me, as a bridegroom decketh himself with elegant attire, and as a bride adorneth herself with her bridal array.
Con sumo gozo me regocijaré en Yahvé, y mi alma se alegrará en mi Dios: pues me revistió con las vestiduras de la salvación, y me cubrió con el manto de la justicia, como a novio que se adorna con una corona, y como a novia que se engalana con sus joyas.
11 For, as the earth bringeth forth her growth, and as a garden causeth what is sown therein to spring forth: thus will the Lord Eternal cause righteousness and praise to spring forth in the presence of all the nations.
Porque como la tierra hace brotar sus gérmenes, y como el huerto hace germinar sus semillas, así Yahvé hará florecer la justicia y la gloria ante todas las naciones.
