< Isaiah 53 >
1 Who would have believed our report? and the arm of the Lord—over whom hath it been revealed?
Ka thuih o ih lok tang kami oh maw? Angraeng ih ban loe mi khaeah maw amtueng?
2 Yea, he grew up like a small shoot before him, and as a root out of a dry land: he had no form nor comeliness, so that we should look at him; and no countenance, so that we should desire him.
Anih loe a hmaa ah thing tadok baktiah tacawt moe, long karoem ahmuen ah kamprawk thing tangzun baktiah oh; aicae mah koeh han koi krang tidoeh om ai; a khit o hanah kranghoihaih to om ai.
3 He was despised and shunned by men; a man of pains, and acquainted with disease; and as one who hid his face from us was he despised, and we esteemed him not.
Kaminawk mah anih to patoek o, pahnawt padah o; anih loe palungsae kami, patangkhang kami ah oh; anih loe minawk mah mikhmai hawk taak ih kami baktiah oh; anih to patoek o, mi mah doeh khingyahaih a paek o ai.
4 But only our diseases did he bear himself, and our pains he carried: while we indeed esteemed him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Anih mah ni aicae patangkhanghaih hoi palungsethaih to phawh; toe anih loe Sithaw mah danpaek ih kami, thuitaekhaih hoi bohhaih tongh kami ah a poek o lat.
5 Yet he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement for our peace was upon him; and through his bruises was healing granted to us.
Toe anih loe aicae zaehaih pongah ahmaa caak moe, aicae sakpazaehaih pongah nganbawh kana a hak; aicae ngan amdinghaih ah kaom thuitaekhaih loe anih nuiah phak, anih bohhaih mah aicae han ngantuisak.
6 We all like sheep went astray; every one to his own way did we turn; and the Lord let befall him the guilt of us all.
Aicae loe tuu baktiah loklam amkhraeng o boih boeh; kami boih mah angmah ih loklam ah caeh o boeh pongah, Angraeng mah aicae zaehaih to anih nuiah amtik.
7 He was oppressed, and he was also taunted, yet he opened not his mouth; like the lamb which is led to the slaughter, and like an ewe before her shearers is dumb; and he opened not his mouth.
Anih loe pacaekthlaekhaih hoiah patangkhang, toe anih loe pakha aang ai; anih loe hum han ih tuucaa baktiah caeh o haih, tuumui aatkung hmaa ah kangam duem tuu baktiah, anih loe pakha to aang ai.
8 Through oppression and through judicial punishment was he taken away; but his generation—who could tell, that he was cut away out of the land of life, [that] for the transgressions of my people the plague was laid on him?
Toenghaih hoiah lokcaekhaih om ai ah, anih to thongim hoi lokcaekhaih ahmuen hoiah caeh o haih ving; anih to kahing kaminawk ih prae thung hoiah hum o pongah, anih ih acaengnawk to mi mah maw thui tih? Kai ih kaminawk zaehaih pongah anih to boh o.
9 And he let his grave be made with the wicked, and with the [godless] rich at his death; although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.
Anih loe zaehaih sah ai, pakha ah alinghaih om ai; toe anih to kazae kaminawk ih taprong ah aphum o moe, a duek naah angraengnawk hoi nawnto aphum o.
10 But the Lord was pleased to crush him through disease: when [now] his soul hath brought the trespass-offering, then shall he see [his] seed, live many days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Anih to patangkhangsak moe, nganbawh kana paekhaih loe Angraeng koehhaih ah oh; zae angbawn haih hanah a hinghaih na paeksak pacoengah, anih mah angmah ih acaengnawk to hnu tih; hinglung doeh sawk tih; a ban mah Angraeng koehhaih to sah tih.
11 [Freed] from the trouble of his soul shall he see [the good] and be satisfied: through his knowledge shall my righteous servant bring the many to righteousness, while he will bear their iniquities.
A hing patangkhanghaih atho to hnuk naah, anih mah poeknawmhaih to tawn tih boeh; anih mah nihcae zaehaih to phaw pae pongah, katoeng ka tamna to panoekhaih rang hoiah anih mah pop parai kaminawk to toenghaih paek tih.
12 Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the many, and with the strong shall he divide the spoil; because he poured out his soul unto death, and with transgressors was he numbered: while he bore the sin of many, and for the transgressors he let [evil] befall him.
Anih loe duek khoek to a hinghaih paek pongah, anih to kazae kaminawk hoi nawnto kroek o hmaek; anih mah pop parai kaminawk ih zaehaih to a phawh, kazae kaminawk hanah lawk a thuih pae pongah, kalen kaminawk hoi nawnto tangqum ka paek han, anih mah lak ih hmuen to thacak kaminawk hoi nawnto amzet o tih.
