Isaiah 47
1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground, there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for men shall nevermore call thee, Tender and delicate.
“பாபிலோனின் கன்னிப்பெண்ணே, நீ கீழேபோய் புழுதியில் உட்கார்ந்துகொள். கல்தேயரின் மகளே, அரியணை அற்றவளாய் தரையில் உட்கார்ந்துகொள். நீ இனி மிருதுவானவள் என்றோ மென்மையானவள் என்றோ அழைக்கப்படுவதில்லை.
2 Take the mill, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, lift up the train, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
திரிகைக் கற்களை எடுத்து மாவரை; உனது முக்காட்டை எடுத்துவிடு. உனது பாவாடைகளை உயர்த்தி, கால்களை வெறுமையாக்கி, நீரோடைகளைக் கடந்துபோ.
3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not regard any man.
உனது நிர்வாணம் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படும்; உன்னுடைய வெட்கம் திறந்து காட்டப்படும். நான் பழிவாங்குவேன்; நான் ஒருவரையும் தப்பவிடமாட்டேன்.”
4 Our redeemer—the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
இஸ்ரயேலின் பரிசுத்தரே நமது மீட்பர்; சேனைகளின் யெகோவா என்பதே அவரது பெயர்.
5 Sit thou silent, and enter into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for men shall never more call thee, The mistress of kingdoms.
“பாபிலோனியர்களின் மகளே, இருளுக்குள் போய் மவுனமாய் அமர்ந்திரு; நீ இனி ஒருபோதும் அரசுகளுக்கு அரசி என அழைக்கப்படமாட்டாய்.
6 I was wroth over my people, I defiled my inheritance, and gave them into thy hand: [yet] thou didst grant them no mercy; upon the aged hast thou laid very heavily thy yoke.
நான் எனது மக்களுடன் கோபங்கொண்டு எனது உரிமைச்சொத்தாய் இருக்கிறவர்களை தூய்மைக்கேடு அடையச் செய்தேன். அவர்களை உனது கையில் ஒப்படைத்தேன்; நீயோ அவர்களுக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டவில்லை, முதியோர்மேலும் மிகவும் பாரமான நுகத்தை வைத்தாய்.
7 And thou saidst, For ever shall I be mistress; until that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, thou didst not call to mind the result thereof.
‘தொடர்ந்து நான் என்றென்றும் அரசியாக நிலைத்திருப்பேன்!’ என்று நீ சொன்னாய். ஆனால் நீ இந்தக் காரியங்களைப் பற்றி சிந்திக்கவுமில்லை; என்ன நடக்குமென நீ எண்ணிப்பார்க்கவுமில்லை.
8 And now hear this, luxurious one, that dwellest in security, that sayest in thy heart, I am, and there is nothing else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
“இப்பொழுதோ ஒழுக்கங்கெட்டவளே, நீ பாதுகாப்பாக சொகுசாக இருந்து, ‘நானே பெரும் அரசி, எனக்கு நிகர் யாரும் இல்லை. நான் விதவையாகவோ, அல்லது பிள்ளைகளை இழந்து துன்பப்படுகிறவளாகவோ ஆகமாட்டேன்’ என்று உன் உள்ளத்தில் சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறாய்.
9 Yet both these things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, despite of the multitude of thy sorceries, despite of the very great abundance of thy enchantments.
இவை இரண்டும் ஒரே நாளில், ஒரே நேரத்தில் உன்னை மேற்கொள்ளும்: நீ பிள்ளைகளை இழந்து, விதவையாவாய். உனக்கு எண்ணற்ற மந்திர வித்தைகள் தெரிந்தும், வசீகர சக்திகள் இருந்தும் அவை முழுமையாக உன்மேல் வரும்.
10 And thou didst trust in thy wickedness: thou saidst, No one seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, —these were they that seduced thee; and thou saidst in thy heart, I am, and there is nothing else beside me.
நீ உனது கொடுமையில் நம்பிக்கையாயிருந்து, ‘ஒருவரும் என்னைக் காண்பதில்லை’ என்று சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறாய். நீ உன் உள்ளத்தில் ‘நான்தான், எனக்கு நிகர் யாருமே இல்லை’ என்று சொல்லும்போது, உன் ஞானமும் உன் அறிவும் உன்னைத் தவறான வழியில் நடத்துகின்றன.
11 And there shall come upon thee an evil, which thou shalt not know how to remove it by prayer; and there shall fall upon thee mischief, which thou shalt not be able to atone for; and there shall come upon thee suddenly desolation, which thou shalt not know.
பேராபத்து உன்மேல் வரும், அதை மந்திர வித்தையால் எப்படி அகற்றுவது என நீ அறியமாட்டாய்; உன்மேல் பெரும் துன்பம் வரும், எதை ஈடாகக் கொடுத்தும் அதை உன்னால் தவிர்த்துக் கொள்ளமுடியாது. நீ முன்னதாகவே அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியாத ஒரு பேரழிவு உன்மேல் திடீரென வரும்.
12 Stand now with thy enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast labored from thy youth; peradventure thou mayest be able to profit, peradventure thou mayest withstand.
“நீ தொடர்ந்து உன் மந்திரங்களைச் சொல்லு, பலவிதமான உன் மாந்திரீக வேலைகளில் ஈடுபடு; இதைத்தான் உன் சிறுவயதிலிருந்தே நீ செய்கிறாய். அதனால் ஒருவேளை நீ வெற்றி பெறலாம், ஒருவேளை நீ பயங்கரத்தைக் கொண்டுவரலாம்.
13 Thou art wearied with the multitude of thy counsels. Do let now those that divide off the heavens, that look at the stars, that announce [coming] events at new moons, stand up, and save thee from the things that are to come over thee.
நீ பெற்றுக்கொண்ட ஆலோசனை எல்லாம் உனக்குச் சோர்வையே உண்டாக்கியது; உன்னுடைய சோதிடர்களும் நட்சத்திரங்களைப் பார்த்து, மாதந்தோறும் இராசிபலன் கூறுகிறவர்களும் எழும்பி, உனக்கு நேரிடப் போவதிலிருந்து உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றட்டும்.
14 Behold, they are become as stubble; the fire burneth them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: not a coal shall be left to warm at, no blaze to sit before it.
உண்மையாகவே அவர்கள் அறுவடை செய்த பயிரின் தாளடியைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள்; நெருப்பு அவர்களைச் சுட்டெரிக்கும். நெருப்புச் சுவாலையிலிருந்து தங்களையே விடுவித்துக்கொள்ள அவர்களால் முடியாது. அது குளிர்காயக்கூடிய தணலாகவோ, அருகில் உட்காரத்தக்க நெருப்பாகவோ இருக்காது.
15 Thus are they become unto thee with whom thou hast labored; those that had commerce with thee from thy youth, wander away every one on his road: there is no one to save thee.
உன் சிறுவயதுமுதல் நீ ஈடுபட்டுத் தொடர்புகொண்டிருந்த, மந்திரவாதிகளினால் இவற்றை மட்டுமே உனக்குச் செய்யமுடியும். அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் தனது தவறான வழியிலேயே போகிறான்; உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றக் கூடியவன் எவனுமே இல்லை.
